About the home

“Valencia” is a beautifully appointed, light filled home in Cowes. Some of the many features of this lovely home are detailed below:

Indoor Areas

This single-storey home has a large open-plan kitchen / dining / living room (with tv, cd, dvd player, Stereo sound system), leading onto the shady outdoor deck area.

There are four spacious bedrooms. The master bedroom has its own en-suite with shower as well as the walk-in-robe. The main bathroom (with shower and bath) is common access for the other 3 bedrooms, and there is also a separate toilet. Finally, there is a large laundry (with washing machine and a dryer).

Outdoor Areas

Outdoor living is catered for as well, with a shady deck opening off the living/dining room. This delightful space is equipped with a gas bbq and a quality outdoor setting (8 seater table and chairs). There is a double garage and driveway.

Kitchen

The fully appointed kitchen is equipped with cooking utensils, crockery, cutlery, microwave, a Breville Coffee machine (takes ground coffee), toaster, kettle, etc. plus a sink, fridge, dishwasher, 900mm gas oven and cook top.

Heating/Cooling Systems

The home is equipped with fully ducted reverse cycle air-conditioning throughout the house (ducted evaporative cooling). There are also 3 portable heaters that are able to be used where ever required.

This home has 10 beds, accommodating up to 12 guests:

Bedroom 1: One Queen bed
Bedroom 2: One Queen bed
Bedroom 3: Two sets of single bunks
Bedroom 4: Two sets of single bunks

Linen

It is common in the region for some linen to be provided for bookings, and some linen to be available as an optional extra. By default, a booking at this home does not include optional linen (top & bottom sheets, bath towels and pillowcases). What is included are doonas (quilts) with covers, pillows without covers, tea towels, hand towels and bathmats. If you would like the optional linen included in your booking, please let us know, including which beds you would like it provided for. The additional cost would be a one-off charge of $30 per bed (some sites add a service fee to these costs) - and we prefer 7 days' notice prior to your arrival to get that arranged.

Peak Periods

Please note that during the peak summer period and other peak times, * check in times * are set as 3pm (unless by prior arrangement). Please also note that if you avail of the optional * linen hire * over these times, it may involve linen being left out but beds not being made up.

Functions, Celebrations and Schoolies

Please note that the home is not suitable for celebrations, parties or large events. The home also does not take bookings over Schoolies.

Property falsely advertised with decades old pictures - AVOID!
Property was advertised as "near new" with pictures showing a very neat looking house and tidy garden. On arrival, we actually drove past it as we could not recognise the property - it looked nothing like the listing. Trees have basically grown 2 storeys tall, grass about 15-30cm high. One of the worst stays I have ever experienced for the following reasons: - actual age and condition of property is about 10 years older than advertised. - one room was advertised with a king bed which actually turned out to be a queen bed. When I questioned the agent, they disagreed with me...until I sent them the actual measurements. The agent subsequently quietly changed the listing to alter this to a queen bed (without admitting it). - outdoor setting area was completely caked in bird poop and unusable (if only I can share pictures in this review..). The area was completely ignored by cleaners (for good reason probably because they would have needed a high pressure cleaner to remove all that poop). Very unfortunate because we were looking to have a nice outdoor BBQ during our stay. - Outdoor BBQ was filthy - bird poop and cobwebs and clearly not been cleaned for months. Digusting and unusable. - When we advised agent of the unclean outdoor dining and BBQ, they advised they would send a cleaner. Despite 3 follow ups, no cleaner came to the property over our 3 night stay. - one part of couch had leather completely peeling off. Really time to replace this. - Property advertised as having a Nespresso pod machine actually had a manual ground coffee machine...so the pods we brought with us couldn't actually be used. - Agent and owner clearly lack any care and attention to detail and really dishonest in using photos that are decades old to advertise the property. On the plus side, we stayed over Halloween and the cobwebs and spiders inside and outside the house really added to the Halloween spirit. Unless you're staying over Halloween, this is a property to avoid.

Came here with a group of friends and this was the perfect house for our early morning walks to the beach, trips into town and the perfect environment and neighbourhood to have a relaxing afternoon. Loved every minute of it!!
