We greatly enjoyed the location with its views of the mountains and sunrise. The house was roomy for us and our pet, and the large yard was great. I set up my telescope back there and enjoyed the dark sky viewing. We also appreciated walking about the neighborhood, no traffic to dodge, just quiet streets. And somehow we timed it all just right for the superbloom this year. We would definitely come back again. Great location to enjoy the warmth of Borrego Springs when the rest of the country is shivering.

I’m glad you enjoyed your stay! Perfect guests I can asked for. Took great care of our Dig! Come back again next Spring.
This is the second time we’ve stayed here and we enjoyed ourselves just as much as before. Such a peaceful environment; we’ll definitely keep coming back!
Really beautiful, warm, comfortable environment. Everything you need for a great vacation stay. So quiet and just five or so minutes from center of town. Loved it 😊
The house was lovely, comfortable, and well stocked, and the views were spectacular. We enjoyed watching wildlife and sunsets from right outside the windows!
We had an amazing stay at this vacation rental! Located on the edge of the stunning Anza-Borrego Desert, it offers unmatched privacy and breathtaking views of the desert landscape. The house was spotlessly clean, and the floor plan was both spacious and well-designed, making it a perfect retreat. The decorative accents, both inside and outside, added a lovely touch of character and charm. Overall, it was a peaceful and beautiful getaway. Highly recommend!
This is a great house in Anza Borrego. It's close to town but feels far away from everything, in a nice developed area. It's set up well for a family.

Thank you Merrie! Come back again. March 2025 is booked solid along with November 2025. That give you 10 months to book for our Dig.
Thank you for taking great care of our Dig!
Happy Jayne

Bill and his wife are excellent guests. He communicated effectively about his plan for the weekend. Respectful of our dig. Highly recommend! Come back again Bill.
Great views, comfy house well stocked with essentials.
That area of Borrego Springs can be very windy, which limits outdoor sitting. But great views also from indoors through the large sliders. Convenient location, and easy pleasant walks in the surrounding streets, with clear open long distance views. Very easy access to the town and to Anza-Borrego Dessert State Park hiking in the large surrounding areas.
This wonderful house in Borrego Springs is situated in a secluded and quite area. The long-distance views are amazing. As I stated in my first review, you will love all the decorations both inside and outside the house. The owners put their heart into this property, and it shows! Looking forward to my fourth visit.
This is the nicest rental I’ve ever experienced. Beautiful home, gorgeous surroundings, perfect location, fantastic host. We would have been happy spending the entire time in the house. Our only regret is that we had to leave!

You’re welcome back anytime Bill! Thanks for choosing our Borrego Dig a second time.
We again enjoyed a lovely stay.
The house has a great layout, feels open inside and out. Very comfortable, with
All needs met. Jayne, the owner, was always very quick to respond to any questions or needs. Comparatively speaking it was also the best deal around.
We will definitely return !!!
We enjoyed 3 nights here. Jayne, the hostess/owner was available to answer questions Xenia text and VRBO messages. Clean, Spacious. Great laundry facility on-site. Large fridge/freezer. A few minutes from town. Expansive desert sunrise views from the back of the home. Great for couples, families, friends.
This was a perfect location for our visit to the Anza Borrego State Park to experience the desert in bloom and all that Borrego Springs has to offer. Home was very comfortable, clean and convenient. Thanks for sharing!
Due to an accident the day before leaving for our stay I was left with a shoulder injury so I could not drive.
Last year we stayed at Jayne’s lovely home and was 100% satisfied. She was a very friendly responsive host. You can’t miss if you choose this lovely home.
If all my trips were so pleasant, I would never go home !
Jayne is an excellent host. She makes you feel like a friend. Since the weather in the Springs will always be somewhat unpredictable but always beautiful, its nice to have a place to ride out a “different”day knowing the next will be just fine for sightseeing.
This is a well-stocked, comfortably furnished home with views in all directions of the desert and surrounding mountains. It is a quiet spot except for at least one nearby rooster and some other squawking bird, but their disturbances were brief. The owner promised to rewrite instructions for opening the house that were not clear and resulted in difficulty in accessing wifi and one day without hot water.

About the host
Hosted by Owner/Manager
I am a retired PUSD high school/middle school teacher in Poway, my husband is a consultant turbo-machinery engineer at Solar Turbines. We grew up in Orange County and now live in San Diego for over 30+ years. We love the outdoor, hiking, biking, splunking, stargazing, and birdwatching. Our children go to school at Columbia University and a high school in Poway.
Why they chose this property
We like Borrego Springs for many reasons. The Estates is a place of quiet, peace, and serenity. Friendly neighbors. You can leave all your busy, hectic schedules and to-do list behind, and reflect / re-energize your battery. We wanted a place for our children to enjoy the great outdoor. Our kids love to watch the stars. You can see the Milky Way on a clear night with your naked eye. Falling stars are a dime a dozen. The moon is awesome to say the least. Many artisans have come and painted the Harvest moon, Super moon, Worm moon, and Lunar Eclipse. We go hiking in the "Slot", Wind caves, Font's Point @ sunrise, and Palm Canyon, rock excavation and /bird watching at Salton's Sea. Borrego is a secret gem of San Diego. In the Spring, the hot pink sand verbena covers the desert floor during superbloom. It is a mecca for flowers and butterfly lovers. The people of Anza are super friendly! Everyone knows your name. The Spring wildflowers dotted our scenery in hues of yellow (brittle bush), pink (prickly pear), orange (ocotillos) and purples (smoke trees) in July. In August, Perseid meteor showers during the night sky. This place is a magical place, a piece of heaven on earth.
What makes this property unique
Our Dig has vaulted ceiling with special telescopic windows so you can see the gazillion stars and Super moon. Stargazing is one of the many perks of our 5 acres property in the Estates. Borrego Springs is one of the International Dark sky of Southern California. The great room is open to the kitchen and dining area with seatings for 10. Our Borrego Dig is equipped top of the line GE Profile stainless steel kitchen appliances, Bosche refrigerator to washer/dryer. We have Keurig coffee maker, drip coffee, tea pots to a wide range of tea/coffee for tea/coffee lovers. We stocked our pantry full for those guests who come in late at night when all the stores/restaurants are closed.
Our place is special because we have bats that come in at dusk eating the insects. Quails track in on the desert sand. Smaller birds come stay in the Palos verde trees Then the owl screech at 2 am letting you know it is time for stargazing. Our neighbor rooster, "Cock adoodle do". This is his way of saying it is time for a star gazing party. Look to the East, you will find the Perseid meteor shower. Look up top, you will find the North Star. The big dipper is to your left and orion belt is to your right. It is so quiet that you can hear your neighbor talking as they walk their dog in the cool morning air. Bicyclists ride by to wave as they head up to Montezuma grade or to the Salton Sea. The next bike race is 6-12-24 at Halloween. The coolest part is the Ocotillo forest. When they are in bloom, the entire horizon is dotted with orange flowers.
