About this property
Quiet Desert Serenity Escape Anza Borrego Springs Stargazing Dark Sky
Quiet, peaceful of 5 acres of desert scape dotted with chollas, barrel cactus, smoke tree in the international Dark sky. Escape to a slower, cleaner & positive pace. In podcast conversations for the American Psychological Association, scholars Thuy‑Vy Nguyen and Netta Weinstein note that planned solitude can lower stress hormones, sharpen cognition, and boost overall mood. Recharge your battery in this 1749 sf executive home 3 bedrooms & 2 baths with panoramic views of Santa Rosa Mt, Font's point, Ocotillo forest, and Indian Head. Weather is getting cooler in 110f and cooler nights 90s. Yellow brittle bush, sand verbena, cheese bush, and indigo flowers are starting to bloom. Pool & gym at the Resort 5 minutes away. Level 2 e-car charger. Plenty of open space in ocotillo forest & Tubb Canyon. No city light pollution or noise pollution. Astronomers love it! Clean air. A place to breathe and exhale. Sun salutation. Namaste. Self care. A place to retreat. Bring your family. Bring your dog. R + R.

About the host
Hosted by Owner/Manager
I am a retired PUSD high school/middle school teacher in Poway, my husband is a consultant turbo-machinery engineer at Solar Turbines. We grew up in Orange County and now live in San Diego for over 30+ years. We love the outdoor, hiking, biking, splunking, stargazing, and birdwatching. Our children go to school at Columbia University and a high school in Poway.
Why they chose this property
We like Borrego Springs for many reasons. The Estates is a place of quiet, peace, and serenity. Friendly neighbors. You can leave all your busy, hectic schedules and to-do list behind, and reflect / re-energize your battery. We wanted a place for our children to enjoy the great outdoor. Our kids love to watch the stars. You can see the Milky Way on a clear night with your naked eye. Falling stars are a dime a dozen. The moon is awesome to say the least. Many artisans have come and painted the Harvest moon, Super moon, Worm moon, and Lunar Eclipse. We go hiking in the "Slot", Wind caves, Font's Point @ sunrise, and Palm Canyon, rock excavation and /bird watching at Salton's Sea. Borrego is a secret gem of San Diego. In the Spring, the hot pink sand verbena covers the desert floor during superbloom. It is a mecca for flowers and butterfly lovers. The people of Anza are super friendly! Everyone knows your name. The Spring wildflowers dotted our scenery in hues of yellow (brittle bush), pink (prickly pear), orange (ocotillos) and purples (smoke trees) in July. In August, Perseid meteor showers during the night sky. This place is a magical place, a piece of heaven on earth.
What makes this property unique
Our Dig has vaulted ceiling with special telescopic windows so you can see the gazillion stars and Super moon. Stargazing is one of the many perks of our 5 acres property in the Estates. Borrego Springs is one of the International Dark sky of Southern California. The great room is open to the kitchen and dining area with seatings for 10. Our Borrego Dig is equipped top of the line GE Profile stainless steel kitchen appliances, Bosche refrigerator to washer/dryer. We have Keurig coffee maker, drip coffee, tea pots to a wide range of tea/coffee for tea/coffee lovers. We stocked our pantry full for those guests who come in late at night when all the stores/restaurants are closed.
Our place is special because we have bats that come in at dusk eating the insects. Quails track in on the desert sand. Smaller birds come stay in the Palos verde trees Then the owl screech at 2 am letting you know it is time for stargazing. Our neighbor rooster, "Cock adoodle do". This is his way of saying it is time for a star gazing party. Look to the East, you will find the Perseid meteor shower. Look up top, you will find the North Star. The big dipper is to your left and orion belt is to your right. It is so quiet that you can hear your neighbor talking as they walk their dog in the cool morning air. Bicyclists ride by to wave as they head up to Montezuma grade or to the Salton Sea. The next bike race is 6-12-24 at Halloween. The coolest part is the Ocotillo forest. When they are in bloom, the entire horizon is dotted with orange flowers.
