This was the best skiing accommodation we’ve stayed at. Everything was just right - clean, comfortable, charming and fantastic views. The welcome gifts from Deborah were a lovely touch as well. We’d go back in a heartbeat.

Deborah’s property was perfectly located close to shops and the snow fields in Thredbo village. Deborah was a great host. She was always accommodating and helpful. The property had super views and the fireplace was a wonderful bonus.
Magnificent location and outlook over the mountain. Lovely rustic alpine type place with all the important things in good working order. Highly recommended.

Thank you! Come again any time David. I've just opened my 2024 winter calendar.
Gone Fishing was amazing for our family week at the snow. All the amenities were great and it is such a beautifully presented and cosy home. Well equipped kitchen was a welcome relief after other places having the bare minimum.
Deborah was very responsive and great to deal with for any questions we had about the area or home.
Property is fabulous for a multigenerational family trip - we brought my older parents along and they had their own space and bathroom on the top level. Very well equipped house with plenty of firewood and a sauna. The welcome gift was very generous. We will definitely be back.
We booked last minute and Deborah made sure that everything was organised at short notice. A great chalet, centrally located with amazing views. Will definitely return. Thanks for being a wonderful host Deborah
We loved our stay here. The house was amazing, and suited our family perfectly. It was great being so close to the village and chairlifts. Wonderful, unobstructed views of the mountains! Both us and the children were thrilled to see that the Easter Bunny had visited prior to our arrival. Great time of the year to visit Thredbo! We'll be back! Thank you Deborah

Fantastic to hear you loved your stay at Gone Fishing Sally. You are more than welcome to come stay again anytime! Safe travels, Déborah
Nice place, clean, tidy, well heated in bedrooms and lounge.
Was short of firewood but rectified immediately which was good.
Got to watch leaving food scraps out as ants were a slight problem.

Glad you enjoyed your stay at Gone Fishing Nigel. FYI - my previous guests used the supply of firewood and then did not notify anyone that more was needed. This highlights the importance of communication for all. Baz who delivers the firewood is great and was happy to help out asap.
Also, this is the first I've heard of ants. I've organised for an eco-pest treatment once the snow melts from around the house - until then guests will have to put food away and keep the kitchen tidy! Thank you for letting me know if this issue.
Happy, safe trails, Deborah
Gorgeous alpine chalet experience, stunning views, great location, fantastic time had by our family. Deborah is a wonderful host, it is evident that she has a personal interest in her guests enjoying their stay. Gone Fishing is equipped with everything needed to have a very comfortable stay and more, including plenty of heating options for the already cosy spaces, heated towel rails, sauna, even a welcome treat! Much Thanks!!

I could not speak more highly of this home. Deborah is an amazing host and makes sure everything from booking to check out is easy. The house is next level gorgeous. You just can’t get a better view of Thredbo and from every level of the house!! The house is super warm and cosy and has everything you need for a holiday. The bunks are a lot bigger than I expected and my 5 and 8 year old were very comfortable. The Thredbo bus stop and the village was only a couple minute walk. I can’t wait to come back!!!

The house is clean, has a nice atmospheric features of a European alpine hotel. Plenty of kitchen appliances, cutlery, mugs for a large family. The large windows with amazing views make the place truly stunning! Some details which make help other travellers:1. Room heating: oil heaters in each room fireplace.2. Hot water: flow, gas heated.3. Connectivity: we used phone mobile data, there were no problems with mob. connection. 4. Host was a most helpful and she has "on the ground" help in the village, so if any problems with accommodation, there is an instant help. 5. Location: 2 min by foot to the both route 2's bus (shuttle) stops Steamboat or Riverside. 3 min by foot to the village centre with cafes, shops, restaurants. 7 min to the golf field and Riverside walking trail. The only thing we miss is the drying room for the skiing boots, but it is so warm in the house that they were pretty fine just after a night on the first floor.
Absolutely perfect digs for our family of 5 over several days of mountain biking action. Walking distance to everything we needed in the village and beautiful views out over the mountain. Wont be the last time we stay here I'm sure!

So glad you enjoyed your Thredbo escape at Gone Fishing, Victor. You are more than welcome to come stay again any time! Happy New Year, Déborah
Deb's place was fantastic for our four night stay. Easily fit in 4 adults (across 3 bedrooms), with options to fit more. The chalet was very cosy and while there are a few sets of stairs, they were not unmanageable after a day out on the snow.
Would definitely try to stay here again.
