My husband and I took our 14 year old grandson here on his school spring break along with another friend of ours. Every thing was as expected! The house was so comfortable and spacious. We enjoyed being able to fish off the pier from the front yard and fishing from the canal in the back. Our grandson lives to fish!! Our host called to make sure all our needs were met. We will be planning to return here soon.
Exactly what we wanted on the river in chocowinity. Could not ask for a more better place to just get away. The owner was very helpful called to check in and see how things was going.
We had a very enjoyable stay for a family reunion in Washington. Loved mornings sitting on the deck watching the sunrise and the fish jumping. It was a very hot weekend but the house had wonderful air conditioning and remained very comfortable.
Needed a 4BR location for Sporting Clay Tournament in Washington, NC. Great communication by owner and
The property included 4 bedrooms and 2 full baths with comfortable living room for socializing with great waterfront settting.
Just as listed! It was perfect for our family vacation! Had deer in the back yard one morning when we got up. Grandkids did some magnet fishing and had a blast!
This was our second visit. We love the location, proximity to the water and ease of getting to the grocery and local eateries. The house was clean and has a well-equipped kitchen, including most anything you need.
Also, Jim is great at communicating, making sure your visit is a pleasant one.
It was a very nice house, everything was perfect for our stay. I especially enjoyed being able to spend the time with my family that definitely wouldn’t have happened had we been in a hotel. We were able to eat most of our meals together on the deck enjoying the river. I actually spent time with all 3 of my adult children sitting on the pier & just talking, a very rare moment these days for us. Again thank you for the hospitality and the use of your home.
We had a wonderful stay at Jim's property to celebrate my wife's 65th birthday. The house is beautiful and spacious with every amenity imaginable. We enjoyed our coffee on the porch in the mornings and walked to the pier daily to eat our breakfast and see the beautiful sunrise and wildlife. It was so peaceful we didn't want to leave, but we ventured into nearby Washington and enjoyed the two restaurants we ate at: Shep's & Down on Main. We also enjoyed the Goose Creek Park. On our last full day we kayaked on the Pamlico River, which was the highlight of our trip. We loved our trip and this property immensely and strongly recommend to anyone looking to get away, enjoy nature and relax! Thanks again to Jim who was the perfect host from start to finish!
We had a great week here. The pier, the water and the canal really made it for us. Following our host’s instructions, we were able to put in and store the trailer nearby and moor the boat right behind the house. Jim was very knowledgeable, friendly and checked in on us several times. The house was comfortable and spacious for us, with bedrooms for everyone in our multigenerational group. It had everything we needed, including AC and ice during a hot July week. That freezer ice-maker was a champ! Great view from the porch for storms. We watched fireworks all up and down the river from the dock on Independence Day. Hope to come back!
We had the best week at Jim’s house! He was such a great host and called us a couple of times to make sure everything was going well and to ask if we had any questions. The house was very clean and cozy. The air conditioning worked great and felt so good after a day’s worth of fishing, which is what we did most of the time! The pier and dock are incredible. Fishing was fun and though we did not catch in quantities, it made the catch even more worth it. Even caught a skate fish (like a sting ray) which took about 10 minutes to reel in! One thing I did not expect was the amazing breeze! Even on hot days, there was always an incredible breeze out on the dock and in the back yard under the shade trees. It made every day so pleasant. Going into town was fun. Cute town with some good places to eat. Make sure you eat at Bill’s Hotdogs and Dairy Palace! We had such a fantastic week filled with a lot of valuable family time and memories!
spent a week fishing from the dock and using the house as a launching point for kayaking. wonderful location, wonderful owner, nice neighbors. very quiet, perfect for what we wanted in a house.
A great place, with peace and quiet. Jim, the owner, was always very helpful and in contact with us throughout our stay. I would definitely stay there again.

Why they chose this property
Worked in Greenville for 10 years. Wanted a remote, sportsman's location on the water and was fortunate enough to find this hideaway only 25 minutes from Greenville. Moved back to the mountains a few years ago and didn't want to let go of this piece of paradise!
What makes this property unique
Have never tired of looking out over the Pamlico first thing each morning. Have never tired of sitting on the end of the pier with a cold one as the sun goes down!
