Casa Kilimanjaro is a jewel in the rough, and one of the most amazing settings in Manuel Antonio. The home is rustic, but with a great single-story layout, an idyllic pool--and some of the best ocean and mountain views around. There are 4 Bedrooms with ensuite bathrooms as well as a half bath, and an outdoor shower.
The entire property is 8 acres, sits on the crown of a rainforest-skirted hilltop, and is perhaps the most private property in all of Manuel Antonio. An electric gate accesses the property, just .6 miles from the main road. From there a long drive climbs past the caretaker's casita up the hill to the home, where there is a spacious parking area. The front entrance to the home is two sliding glass doors--mirrored on the pool side of the house by two other sliding glass doors, allowing for great air flow. Three of the bedrooms are in corners of the home--two of which have great views--and the other corner is formed by the kitchen, which communicates to the open living room and garage area, where there are laundry facilities. A covered patio area leads out to the pool area, which is flanked by two decks, with great mountain views and a distant but beautiful ocean view. A hammock adorns the northeast corner of the house, also.
Here is the breakdown of the bedrooms & beds:
Bedroom #1 (NW) - 1 double + 1 single
Bedroom #2 (NE) - 1 queen & 1 single
Bedroom #3 (SE) - 1 queen + 1 single
Bedroom #4 (SW) - 1 bunkbed + 1 single
Living area - Queen sofa bed
Casa Kilimanjaro is ideal for groups who are more interested in beauty and nature than luxury finishes, and more interested in wildlife than nightlife. The space is perfect for relaxing around the pool and taking in the sweeping mountain-to-ocean views, or for taking in some of the area s most beautiful animals--from monkeys, to sloths, to toucans, to scarlet macaws. It should be noted that the home is rustic--but charming!
It is also ideal for the essential barbecuers--with a novel BBQ and smoker. Perfect for 'smoking' and drinking around the pool patio!
Please note that the home does not have AC, and can become hot during the day, especially in the dry season months of March and April. There are ceiling and floor fans, however, and in the evenings the hilltop setting allows for cool breezes.
