Good stay and location worked well for us. Liked the log cabin and the area around it. Coordinating with the owner and getting door open was a bit clunky but otherwise it was a nice stay.

We came here for our annual father son fishing trip. Loved the cabin - the cleanliness, layout and necessities without being too cluttered. Spot down by the water is well worth the walk!

Very nice multi-bedroom cabins

This is a convenient place to stay if you are visiting the Cayuga Lake area, especially the wine trail. Be aware that their policy is to provide only one towel per person. If you are going to swim, definitely bring towels, as you are not supposed to take them off the property.

Great place for family!

We really enjoyed our stay in cabin A. The cabin was the perfect size for our family. Had alot of space for a energetic 2 year old to have fun, both inside and out. Loved the beautiful dock and beach access. Really liked the close proximity to hiking and scenic trails. Overall had a wonderful time and would definitely recommend to anyone looking to stay in the area.

Fall Getaway

Enjoyed our Fall getaway at Cayuga Lake Cabins. Great central location for day trips to Ithaca, Seneca Falls & Geneva and hiking at Taughannock Falls State Park and the Lakeshore Trail at Sampson State Park. Plenty of local wineries to visit as well as the Finger Lakes Cider House. Cabin A was very clean and had everything we needed to make our stay enjoyable. The bed was super comfortable and the firewood provided for the fire pit made for a fun evening making s'mores. Would definitely stay here again when visiting the Finger Lakes.

Waterfalls and Wine

We've been going to the Finger Lakes as a girls' trip for a few years. I noticed the cabin on our first trip and every time we tried to book it there was no availability. I was so excited when we were able to reserve it this year. I loved it! Very comfortable with spacious rooms and a nice living area. It's a great location near the wineries and convenient to go back and forth between Seneca and Cayuga lakes. I'd definitely stay again.

Couldn't ask for anything more.

First of all, the cabins are perfect. This is our second time staying and we have stayed in each one. So new, so clean and so equipped with everything you could possibly need. We had 6 people staying and we were all comfortable and there was plenty of room for all of us. Jim and Cheryl are fabulous hosts and were always available if there was anything we needed. We also used the shuttle to do the wine tour and it was perfect so nobody had to worry about driving. I could go on about the decor of the cabins but you can see it from the pictures. We didn't get to build a fire in the fire pit because last year it snowed and this year it rained, maybe next year! We can't wait to go back again next year! Thank you Jim and Cheryl!

This was our third time staying at this property and we enjoyed it just as much as the other times we’ve stayed here. We met one of the property owners. He was very helpful with questions we had. We let him know this was our anniversary and we always come here for our anniversary weekend. After a day of being out and about, we came back to a bottle of wine left for us, with note wishing us happy anniversary! We’ve already booked our stay for next year! Clean, pet-friendly, conveniently located. We love this place!

About the host

Host profile image
My husband Jim and I moved to Cayuga Lake in 2002 - he from Pine City NY and me from Hawaii. We both are naturally drawn to water, so Cayuga Lake was our chosen place. My husband has 3 grown children and he retired in 2012. Now our children are of the four-legged sort (we have friendly tale-wagging dogs and we invite you to bring your dogs along). We live directly across the street from the cabin and we are always available if you need anything. We take great pride in providing a clean, comfortable vacation property, and it is important to us that you have a wonderful vacation experience. We want to ensure that you’ll make memories here that will stay with you for a lifetime.

Why they chose this property

We chose Cayuga Lake for its natural beauty, the variety of things to see and do in close proximity, yet also the tranquility of country living. We envisioned building a cabin here so we could share this unique area with others, providing a comfortable retreat for our guests. We designed and built the cabin as a contemporary modern space yet with rustic charm.

What makes this property unique

Situated in a sunny field adjoining the woods, this log cabin is a tranquil retreat. It is very spacious for 2 – 6 people with an open floor plan, cathedral ceilings, and 2 private bedrooms. It is impeccably clean and is well equipped with most necessary items. A walking trail across the street gives you access to Cayuga Lake. The cabin is centrally located on the Cayuga Wine Trail. Nearby are hiking trails, biking paths, and quaint shops. The cabin rental costs less per person than many hotels, plus you have your own private space. The radiant floor heating warms the cabin to a cozy temperature on cool nights. It is also air conditioned for your comfort in summer months.
