Don’t stay here if you value cleanliness and comfort. The apartment has a horrible sewage smell, there was gaping holes in the walls, dirty rags left out, milk left on the counter, a leak that caused the kitchen floor to bubble and be constantly wet and worst of all, incessant cockroaches. The management team was responsive but kind of shrugged at the issues presented and didn’t resolve them during our stay. The actual owner of the property, who lives upstairs, couldn’t have been more inconsiderate. As I awoke to cockroaches crawling on me in my bed, I was crying as my friends tried to kill it, finding 20 more underneath my bed. The owner came downstairs to a door I didn’t even know they had access to, to scream and yell at us to be quiet and go to sleep. As if that wasn’t what I wished I could’ve been doing. Instead I spent my 31st birthday in tears, unable to sleep, exiled to the couch, in this decrepit, infested, odorous apartment. The online upside is the location. But there’s a million better options out there.
We were met at the apartment by a sweet and helpful host. The location was amazing! We were around the corner from an incredible bakery, and just a couple of blocks from several amazing restaurants. We walked to multiple historical areas and museums but it was great to return to this cozy apartment. It is a garden level unit with few windows that face the street making the bedrooms great for dark sleeping but also a little stuffy. We learned on a tour that Mexico was built on what used to be a large lake and that’s why many of the buildings aren’t level and I believe why some of the doors in the apartment don’t close easily or completely. This just added to the charm of the place-as does the glass skylight in the “atrium” it is a bit of an oasis in a busy city. The location was perfect for us.
We are passionate Mexicans dedicated to helping our guests fall in love with our culture and costumes.
