3 mins walk to the Karangahake reserve swingbridge and historic goldmining walks.

For children there is a play area up at the Karangahake School just a few minutes walk. Access only outside of school hours.

We really enjoyed our stay at this absolutely gorgeous cottage. The garden is lovely and the spa in the back yard was the perfect way to finish the evening. Inside the house is a large kitchen with everything you need to cook. The house was spotless and tastefully decorated. Beds we comfortable. The cottage is walking distance to the gorge carpark and trails which is perfect if you were exploring the area. Only mistake we made was not staying long enough.

Superb house and location

The house and its facilities are spectacularly good. The garden is a delight (including a small and abundant herb garden to forage when using the well-appointed kitchen). My family loved the hot tub! The convenience for accessing the Gorge and its walking trails could not be better.

We have travelled a lot and lived in various places around New Zealand. We also lived for several years in the Cheshire area of UK.

Karangahake is an excellent place to base your visit to the greater Coromandel area. Equidistant from Tauranga, Hamilton and Auckland, all about 1 hrs drive. The area is surrounded by some amazing and popular leisure activities, with the cycle way and extensive walking tracks starting only a few minutes walk from the cottage.
The popular and family friendly Waihi Beach is only 20 mins drive away.
