About this property

McCrae, the perfect stay. Short walk to beach plus beautiful bay views

Enjoy the best of both worlds, this property is an easy walk to the beach and also boasts great bay views.

Our property is a short walk down the road to McCrae's gorgeous beach. We have an open plan living area which enjoys a stunning bay view. There is a huge balcony facing Port Phillip Bay where you can enjoy the McCrae lighthouse and the shipping channel . On clear days the You Yangs and Melbourne are also visible.

The house has been renovated. It is light, modern with polished floorboards throughout, whilst still retaining the house's original charm.

There is a large enclosed back garden for kids and dogs to enjoy. We have a trampoline, swing set and sandpit.

Top storey compromises of 3 bedrooms, 1 bathroom and open plan kitchen / dining / lounge area.

Bedroom 3# 2 sets of bunk beds

Downstairs consists of another bedroom, bathroom, games room and laundry. (1 queen bed and 2 double sofa beds)

The house easily lends itself to 2 families, as downstairs has its own separate entrance and bathroom. Kitchen and laundry areas would be shared. Please note: no internal staircase.

The house is located up the road from the lighthouse. The beach is, at most, a 5 minute walk. 3 restaurants (Greek, Italian, Thai - all excellent and really popular) and 2 cafes are at the bottom of the street and the McCrae Plaza is walking distance or a 2 minute drive.

This is a perfect property to enjoy an extended stay or a relaxing weekend away. 1 hours drive from Melbourne makes McCrae an easy getaway.

The house had everything we needed. The rooms were very clean and the beds were comfortable. The lounge and dining areas easily accommodated 7 adults for a four day weekend. The views from the generous deck are spectacular. We'll definitely be coming back.

We booked this house as a base for our family for our wedding in McCrae. It was a great house, with lots of space and amazing views from the balcony. The downstairs area was entirely separate, which was great for escaping for a bit while all the prep was going on. Thank you so much for having us!

Excellent location stunning views

Outside impression not great but lovely inside, the kitchen, lounge and meals area are beautiful and the views from the large deck were amazing, great to have dinner and watch the sunset and watch the boats sail past. The beds are comfortable but take your own pillows as they are very thin and only 1 per person. We opted for the host to provide linen at an extra cost. Our main isdue was the fact that the downstairs bedroom could not be accessed as the key was not in the drop box. Numerous calls and Sms messages to the host went unanswered. My daughter sent her an abrupt message the next morning which resulted in a phone call advising us where to locate a spare key. Not a great start to the family weekend we were looking for. The host was very apologetic and the issue was resolved albeit after many arrempts. The host did offer a refund for the inconvenience. Overall we did enjoy our stay, would we go back, not sure, jury is out

I’m glad you enjoyed your stay. The key issue was unfortunate due to the guests prior not returning it to the lockbox. I will put measures in place so this situation isn’t repeated. Thanks for your feedback regarding the pillows. I will purchase some additional pillows. I take all feedback seriously as I want guests to comfortable.

The perfect place to stay for a family group

Our group comprised of ten consisted of four families - grandparents, adult children and spouses, and grandchildren. We were thrilled with the accommodation which catered for all of our needs. It is a lovely renovated property with a sunny aspect and a great balcony (deck) to take in the amazing sunsets. Plenty to keep the children occcupied and Arthurs Seat and The Enchanted Maze and Gardens are nearby. Highly recommended

A fabulous beach holiday with family

A great house that comfortably fit 8 adults, 1 baby and the dogs without feeling cramped. Great backyard fully enclosed for the dogs. Well equipped kitchen with lots of space to entertain. Lovely space for big family dinners in the dinning room or on the verandah with coastal views. Beautiful beach within walking distance, that had off leash dog areas. The beach was shallow and perfect for kids and dogs.

Great short break

The house was everything we wanted and well set up for six siblings. The location was excellent with the shops and beach a shortish walk away. The sunny deck had a great view of the ocean and was large enough for everyone to sit and watch the cargo ships and sailing craft go by. Will certainly recommend this property to others.

Family Christmas getaway
