Situated on in a lovely, quiet neighborhood above the ocean on the north end of Waldport’s Bayshore Estates, Honey Home has all you and your guests will need for rejuvenating time on the coast. This spacious home has stunning, panoramic views of the ocean through mature pines, adding a natural framework for your enjoyment of the view. A soaring cabled deck puts you high above the forest floor for a breathtaking view photographs can’t capture, with breezes and birdsong adding to the experience. The honey-colored vaulted plank ceilings and large windows create an atmosphere of golden space and light for relaxation on the velvety sectional sofa and pretty chairs in front of the flat-screen TV/Blu-ray in the living room. A wood stove in the dining area promises cozy suppers from the fully-equipped, ocean-view kitchen. Two bedrooms on the main level supplement beds in the cozy loft and a queen bedroom on the lower level. Opening to an ocean-view hot tub through sliders, a large bonus room includes a pool table, TV/DVD/VCR, lots of games and toys, and a sofa sleeper. Great beach getaway

A couple of friends wanted to get way for the weekend, and this was the best place to do so! Super convents located, quiet, clean, lots of space- just perfect!

Family vacation

We had a wonderful time in Waldport. The house more than met our needs and expectations. The hot tub was a huge hit and the ocean view was beautiful. There was plenty of space for each of our 6 children so they could spread out. Thanks so much!

Great location, quite and big games and videos are appreciated, only thing its need are some updates like heating upstairs not the best, and outlets are too old to even hold charger in , some kind of cover for when your in jacuzzi and it is raining would be better as well

Disappointing

We were attracted to this property because of the photo of the view from the deck. The view was, in fact, lovely, but the rest of the house was a big disappointment. The carpet throughout was old and badly stained so that we weren't sure if it was actually clean. In fact, most of the interior fixtures were old and worn-out. The basement level was the nicest part of the house, but the rest of it badly needs attention, inside and out. It is managed by a realty company - Meredith Lodging, so I suspect it really isn't a rental "by owner." At least not one who has actually stayed in the house for years. The view was as good as advertised, but we couldn't use the deck because the wind was too fierce fo us Easterners.

We paid for an early check-in. When we arrived, the house was absolutely in shambles. I called and spoke to the management company and making a long story short, she had all kinds of excuses and said we would have to leave until the housekeeping people came. She said she would let me know when they were to show up. Would have to change our check into 4:00 and refund our early check-in charges. With four 71-year-old people with one being handicap and had to figure out what to do with ourselves until we supposedly could check back in at 4:00. We got there at 4:40 and the house was still untouched. Made another phone call to the management company and got more excuses. Was told that they would have the cleaners come and would notify us what time they would be there. Texted and said that they would be there in 30 to 35 minutes. That was at 10 minutes to 5:00. The poor girl didn't show up until almost 6:00. Was so embarrassed and said that the house was not even scheduled to be cleaned that day. She worked until after 7:30 and we felt so bad for her that we sent her home with something to eat. Have never had an experience like that with any of the rental homes that I have had in the past. Will not be using VRBO ever in the future. There were two red flags that came up with the VRBOin the beginning but I decided to go against my better judgment and rent the facility. Overall, the house was nice. We did get some refund but overall it was a horrible experience. Management company def

So dirty but nice layout

This house seemed great until you walked through once you got there. There was dust/saw dust everywhere. Screws were left laying around on the floor and the counter by the sink. paint chips all over the house. Down stairs patio and upper deck were covered in saw dust. One of the bedrooms had a used tissue or napkin laying next to the bed on the floor. You could tell that they just redid the floors. Sawdust and gaps between the floors and the walls. The loft bathroom looked as if someone left an animal in there and it tried clawing its way out. Some beds looked as if they didn’t change the bedding (sheets and pillow cases) some lamps had stains all over them, the down stairs tv works but is broken. (There is a red line going from the top to the bottom of the screen to the left) The amount of dust that was laying everywhere was a bit ridiculous. And I’m not talking like “let’s go take a white glove and find where there is dust hiding”.. you walked into the kitchen and it looked as if someone drew pictures in the dust on the laundry area doors. The fire place in the kitchen was not cleaned off before we had gotten there. The bed down stairs and the room off of the kitchen wasn’t bad. The loft beds and the bedroom in the wallway were terrible. There were two tables that were broken and if touched probably would fallover The loft is extremely dusty and gets incredibly hot. (It’s a loft, upstairs.. heat rises, open the window before you do anything else or you’ll melt) Myself and my girlfriend cleaned for a good hour, maybe an hour and a half before the rest of our family had gotten there. And still felt like there were things we needed to do in order for us all to be comfortable staying. I have pictures of all of the things and more that I have listed. We aren’t happy and won’t be coming back. Despite the bad reviews on the carpet etc we gave it the benefit of the doubt. Down stairs didn’t smell musty and we didn’t have a problem with a mouse so that’s a plus. The garage door.. trust me when I said we looked forever for a button to open the door.. it’s a tiny white circular button on the right hand side coming down the stairs from the hallway by the front door.The layout of the house is nice. Had a fridge/freezer in the garage which came in handy if you are spending a lot of time downstairs and don’t feel like making the trip upstairs. Walk through the bedroom into the garage and it’s right there. For the price.. not even a little bit worth it.

The location and home are great. The carpet desperately needs to be cleaned. The dishwasher wasn't working very well. There was a mouse in the downstairs bedroom. Everything else was great!!

The house did have enough room for our party BUT it was surfaced cleaned, and not very well. HEAVILY soiled and stained carpet was so shocking our party did not remove our shoes, at all. I have documented with pictures. We are disappointed in the property management company for not doing a better job at deep cleaning the house. I'm also disappointed that the owner would rent out their home with horribly stained carpet, a dirty BBQ grill, dirty and torn contact paper under sinks. My 67 year old mother was sitting at the kitchen table and her chair collapse from underneath her.

Lovely house with a few issues

Vrbo and Meredith were communicative and friendly. The house is generally very pretty with a nice view of the ocean from upstairs deck. The beds are soft and rooms clean. There were a few issues worth mentioning. The downstairs where the pool table is and access to the hot tub realy had a terriblY strong odor of mildew. Very distinct and could not get past it the entire trip. The hot tub was nice, however not all of the jets worked. Also, there is NO privacy as the hot rub is in clear view of the neighbors windows, who constantly watched us through the window while we were trying to enjoy some privacy. Additionally, there are signs posted throughout the neighborhood that vacationing guests are not welcome, and that owners should be only ones there. The coffee maker was broken as was the garbage can lid. If it weren't for those major issues, we would have had a great time. I still have the smell of mildew in my nose over 30h after leaving. Not exaggerating. This house was not worth the 1500 we paid for 3 nights. The last thing that happened is that the hot tub service person arrived to service the hot tub before we were even gone. This was very uncomfortable. I complained to Meredith and they given me a 100 credit towards my next rental with them. I will use their service, but i do not recommend renting this house until the mildew issue is thoroughly investigated and corrected. Also, there is NO bathtub as described. Only 2 shower in 3 bathrooms.

Relaxing stay

As others have said the property is dated. That worked great for our family, it made it easier to relax with our younger kids instead of a constant worry about what the were getting into. The property allowed us to relax and enjoy the stay. Only downside, no ping pong table for our stay.

A little bit dated but clean and comfortable. We had a wonderful time. The kitchen was well equipped for cooking. Beds enough for 10 were comfy. The sofa sleeper is comfy as a couch but awful for sleeping. If you are needing the full sleeping for 14, bring an air mattress. :-) One more thing to consider... the neighbors do NOT approve of this being a vacation home and seem to be on some sort of campaign against it. You can't park boats or RVs in the driveway or anywhere in the neighborhood. Which is fine. But when we drove into the cul-de-sac just to find the property no less than 6 house doors flew open coming out to complain. Apparently they are not even allowed to drive by their own houses with their own boats to grab their own gear or someone will call the cops. It wasn't a big problem, just don't bring your boat up to the house. :-)
