We loved our stay at the barn. It was so peaceful and the views were amazing.
The barn was comfortable and warm and had everything we needed.
With lots of homely touches, such as milk, bread a bottle of wine etc.
Neil was a great host, more like a long lost friend, who was happy to chat and give information and advice.
We would definitely recommend Hilltop Barn and Neil as a host and look forward to returning on our next trip to Tassie.
We liked staying here. It is an excellent base for exploring the district and is about a 15 minute drive from Launceston. This is a very private and quiet location set in woodland several hundred metres from the highway with a long view north to the Tamar River. The barn is clean and well-appointed with spacious living areas. The wood heater provides excellent heating. There are column heaters as well.
Have stayed before last year with interstate friends. Great spot for us. We have Tassie friends close by. Cute little barn, great view. Ample amount of firewood. Neil is great to deal with. Will stay again
We used Hilltop Barn as a home away from home for 5 weeks, excellent base for exploring Launceston and surrounds. 20 min drive into town, halfway between the city and coastal George Town, 5 min to Hillwood berry farm, lovely view of the river, completely private and set back far from the road. Warm place with great insulation, and column heaters as well as the woodburner heater. Kitchen had everything we needed though heating up leftovers was sometimes annoying without a microwave. Neil provided a good amount of firewood for our stay. He was easy to get in touch with and told us everything we needed to know about the property.

Very relaxing place to stay . Very quiet lovely views.
The property was beautiful, and very clean and organized. Neil was super thorough with communicating and was very helpful when we arrived also. Highly recommend for a nice and peaceful stay not far from Launceston CBD.
Great position, easy to find, neighbour's have a car park out the back of theirs that looks a little off putting at first, however once inside the barn it is not visible. Loads of wood for the fire lying around. Toasty when the fire is up and going. Could do with a few more utensils in the kitchen, a few soft furnishings and a hair dryer for those of us who are fussy. A lovely touch with the wine, milk , bread and jams. Great communication with Neil. Wallabies by the bucketful around the barn in the evening and morning!!
Easy communication with the owner. Wine in the fridge, fresh bread and milk. Would definitely stay again. Grand kids would absolutely love staying there.
I was attracted to the Hilltop barn from seeing it online. It lived up to our expectations. We had everything we needed. It was a quiet and peaceful hide away which provided the feeling of isolation and remoteness despite having other residents nearby. Nice view of Tamar river. Location gives great access to Georgetown and Beauty point to the north and Launceston to the south. We loved the bush setting as we are used to camping and staying in similar places.
Neil was a great host, the place was clean and the wine and breakfast was a nice touch. Nothing was too hard and communicating with Neil could not have been easier
