This was a wonderful visit. Real close to the beach. The house is a bit aged but you can't find property like this for less expensive. Drew and company were great with communication - totally 5 stars!!!
The place is in a great location — very convenient and close to everything we needed, which we really appreciated. However, there were a few things that made the stay less comfortable. Parking was tricky, and the unit is definitely on the older side. Some of the furniture is worn, the bathroom light fixture was pretty rusty, and we even noticed a few odd stains on the sheets, so a bit more attention to upkeep would go a long way. There’s no A/C, and it was very hot when we came back each day. We had to leave the windows open just to cool things down, but since it’s right off a busy street, it ended up being pretty noisy with traffic. At times the neighbors were out weed‑eating as well, which added to the noise. The listing says it sleeps 5, but that felt like a stretch since the fifth “bed” was just an air mattress.Overall, the location is great, but some updates, better maintenance, and added comfort would really improve the experience.
The property was absolutely perfect for our needs! Everything we did and everywhere we went was 10-15 minutes drive which was extremely convenient. I will definitely be saving this property for future visits.
Description was accurate. Very busy street but good location. House very clean and well maintained. It was a busy weekend in the area so parking was an issue but we had been informed of this prior to our stay. Would definitely stay here again when we are in the area.
We stayed at Drew’s house while attending our son’s wedding on the beach. Great location, lots of traffic and noise that diminishes at night.
Windows open gave a nice cross breeze, since no A/C. On street parking was a drawback.
This was perfect for what our family needed. We were only there for breakfast and dinner. No AC which wasn't too terrible with fans. Also water pressure in shower isn't the greatest but we still were able to shower. For the price it's great.

Very comfortable, clean and accessible. The only problem we had was the lighting in the kitchen was inadequate, very dim and at night couldn't see anything.
We loved being so close to the beach, cute restaurants and shops. The house is on the older side but spotlessly clean. Was perfect for the 2 of us (mother-daughter trip). The street noise in the front of the house is a bit of an issue, especially when you want to open the windows for cross ventilation ( no a/c but multiple fans available). However, at night in the bedrooms in back of the house it was plenty quiet and we slept well. Would stay again.

Quick responding owners!
Very quick to respond owners when needed. When we arrived the cleaning person hadn’t come yet, to no fault of the owners I assume. They got the issue resolved immediately. We got on street parking every night which was a pleasant surprise. The place was perfect for our purposes.

House on a very busy street - no parking (except 3 car driveway right in front but not able to use) no washer/dryer, no extra linens or blankets. 3 portable heaters that didn't work. Not a good location for family with kids- location to beach was ideal
We had a great time here. Bedrooms are big with lots of storage. Beds are comfy. Large living room with lots of places to sit. Kitchen has everything you need to make basic meals. The location is great. It sits between the 2 bays so you can do a short walk in either direction to a park or beach. Beach chairs and towels included. The front porch is tiny and faces the busy street so we just went to the park to sit outside. There is lots of traffic which is noisy but we were there in December so could keep the windows closed so it didn’t bother us. Walking distance to Trader Joes, Von’s, pharmacy and lots of restaurants.
Short drive to I5 and I8 so easy to get around in the city. We would definitely stay again.
First, the location was prefect. 5 minutes to Sea World, 7-10 minutes from Belmont Park (Mission Beach Boardwalk). Plenty of room for a family of 4 to enjoy. Basic amenities were provided and that's pretty much all we needed. Grocery store about mile away. Food/pub/restaurant (locally owned) within 1 block. Although parking can be a little difficult, we were actually lucky and we're able to park our vehicle almost directly in front of the rental entire stay. It can get a little stuffy in the back bedrooms but there were ceiling fans in each room and they provided oscillating and box fans. We just placed the box ones in the windows and that was able to circulate the air. Cool S.D. breeze. Family was happy with the unit and will definitely stay there again!

San Diego Heat Wave - No AC!
The rental is in an excellent area, very convenient to ocean, beaches, restaurants. Unfortunately, our stay coincided with a major heat wave in San Diego and the rental has no air conditioning. Fans were provided, but it was awful. The rental is located on a very loud and very busy street. Behind the unit is an alleyway with overpoweringly smelly garbage cans, and we found a dead and decomposing rat near the garbage cans. Because we needed to open our windows day and night, the smell of rotting garbage was present in the bedrooms. Furthermore, there was very limited hot water in the sinks and shower. Granted, the property owner cannot control the temperature, but we would never stay here again.
We stayed for about 2 weeks in Drew's place and loved every moment of it. It really felt like home. So much so that our 6 year old daughter and I were really sad when we had to leave. My poor wife had a hard time getting us out of the apartment to the airport.
The apartment has everything you need. From a comfortable couch with a smart tv, a spacious kitchen with all appliances for cooking. The beds are very comfortable and there's plenty of cupboard storage to put clothes. The only downside was the brightness in the morning since they aren't any blackout curtains. If that doesn't bother you, you'll be fine. Otherwise you might want to pack a sleeping mask.
Drew is a great host. Always responding within minutes and very welcoming and thoughtful. We can definitely recommend this place. It's just minutes to walk to Mission Bay, a few minutes by car to PB and only 10 minutes from the airport.
The owners were very friendly. We arrived late in the evening. They let me know about the parking, we had to park sideways in the driveway to make sure we didn’t block the sidewalk. The house was stocked with basic necessities. We we’re within walking distance to a convenience store, restaurants and coffee shops. It’s perfectly located to the beach/bay. We walked to both sides of the bay. No need to drive there. They had beach accessories also, which was perfect. We did forget to bring the water boards, so my hubby walked back to the house and got them for the kids. It is that close and convenient to the beach. I was able to try the coffee shop a block away. Sooo close!!! We never had any issues, we had everything we needed. There is no AC, but you don’t need it. Open the windows and you’ll feel the ocean breeze. Fans in every room if you need it. We enjoyed the windows open all day. All they ask is to take care of the house, which is common sense. Treat it as if it was your own. We loved our stay!!! We will most definitely stay here again!!!!
Thank you Amy, Drew & Neal!!!!!
My boss and I were traveling for work and have done home rentals before, they work well for us for work and chill time.
This apartment worked out great. It was clean and in good condition, its older and there were notes on the plumbing to be careful, but it was very well cared for. The rooms were spacious, beds comfortable. Everything we needed and expected was included. There is no AC but opening the windows and turning on the fans cools it off fast as close to the beach as it is. This was surprising since its San Diego and this Oregonian just thinks HOT. But so close to the ocean, it was mid 70’s max even though it was 20 degrees higher a few miles inland.
During the day the street is very busy and loud – it’s the major thru street in the area. Sunday there were tons of sirens and traffic but by 8:30-9 it became quiet. I’m a light sleeper and heard nothing overnight.
Its less than a mile walk to the ocean, closer to the bay. There are a couple good restaurants on the next corner and just under a mile from another street filled with restaurants, shops, etc.
Beware if you (like me) get up in the night for a drink of water from the fridge, this place has mirrors everywhere! They make the place gorgeous but the fridge swinging wide and seeing a person over the sink where you don't expect a person to be? I might have screamed. A bit.
When we come back to San Diego I will absolutely look to this place first to stay.
