Great apartment, has everything you need. It was really hot while I was there, the little A/C unit in the window was just enough, and there were 3 extra fans which was nice. You have a view of the park next door that is home to many unhoused people, this is the only downside of the property.
Great place, the only con was the bed slats. Waking up was a pain since we would roll in the middle and the slats were noisy. We were scared of breaking them.
The only thing that could be improved is the mattress on the bed. It's uneven and forces you into the middle after getting in. Otherwise, the suite is perfect! Beautifully updated, nicely decorated and very well situated. We visited the Washington State Fair and this unit was only 15 minutes from there. It's quiet and peaceful. We will be making this a regular stay it was so convenient and extremely well maintained.
This place is great and I tell you why. First it's close to the bus, grocery store, liquor store , CVS , coffee shops, and anything else you need if you're in a town without a car. I saw the reviews and considered those when picking it but all the negativite reviews are out of the owners control. So I give this place a five stars and I definitely would come back.
Stayed here to be close to Tacoma General Hospital for 5 nights while recovering from surgery. Super comfortable and clean with all new looking appliances! No troubles with anything. Great communication from host.!
Service from the owner was very clear and friendly. The house was in good condition and everything is new, kitchen is well-equipped, bathroom is clean, white and new. The bed was very comfortable and there was nothing to complain.
This grey, stylish flat in good location is suitable for longer staying and there was too enough space for familystaying too. 15 walk to the Convention centre, art museum, park and Safeway was ok and I didn't need to use car at all.
Our 1 week stay was great, not only is the master bedroom spacious but the living room has 2 pull out couches. The house was clean and modern.
I recommend.
An excellent location for a three day visit to my daughter who lives in the Tacoma Hilltop neighborhood. Red Elm cafe nearby for morning coffee. Safeway supermarket nearby too. Close to downtown. When the clouds clear, you can see Mount Rainer in the distance.
Very clean and exactly as described. Owner gave detailed arrival instructions and is very prompt to respond ro messages. will definitely use when I come back to area.
Our stay was very comfortable, the unit is nicely stocked, bed was comfy and we were close to all actives. Property manager was very responsive to my call when I arrived at the wrong unit.
The apartment was beautifully appointed: granite countertops, Samsung appliances, modern bathroom fixtures. Quite a few homeless people in the neighborhood, but nonthreatening (no panhandling). I will definitely return to the House of Gray for future visits, but only when the outside temperature is no higher than mid-70s. Two powerful fans in living room and bedroom kept us cool, but there is no air conditioning .
The property overall was decorated nicely and had everything you needed. It is right next to a playground, which is great, however there are a number of homeless who are constantly occupying it.
If you are not used to that, it can be a concern. It did throw us for a loop. Unit 4 is on the 2nd floor, and from the kitchen window you can see the park. One morning we clearly saw one of the homeless men urinating on the wall.
My wife was pretty nervous about them at first, but they kept to themselves.
I know the property owner/manager will not state that in the public listing for the rental property, just be aware that the neighborhood does have a significant homeless population.
The tv is a smart tv, and you have to play around with it if you are not used to smart tvs. It took me 2 1/2 days to figure how to find the Netflix/Hulu features. I suggest the owner print out instructions on how to access these features to avoid future frustrations for the renters.
The owner texted and emailed instructions on accessing the property, wifi network and password, and key code access on the check in day, but we had to ask for the address.
Overall, we enjoyed our stay. The owner/manager promptly responded each time we attempted contact, and worked with us when we had a reservation issue.
The apartment was very nice and clean. Communication with the owner was easy using the VRBO app. We got in late at night and finding the entrance was a bit confusing. Know that this property is a separate building behind the address. The place has obviously been renovated and is clean and updated. Everything we needed was provided including soft towels, soap, shampoo/conditioner, blow dryer and laundry soap (a much appreciated item). There is plenty of parking available on the street.
My only complaint was that a security light is just outside the bedroom window and made it extremely bright all night. I relayed this concern to the owner who was receptive and said the light was recently installed. The installation of some blackout curtains would resolve it with no problem. The owner said he would do that :-)
We would definitely stay here again.
