Enjoy the private hot tub with unobstructed valley views, heated tile floors, modern fully stocked kitchen with granite counter tops, 3 bedrooms, sleeping loft, a den with a queen sofa sleeper, wood burning stove, new washer and dryer, dual shower heads with custom tile in master, and custom finishes throughout! Plenty of space in the open concept living area with vaulted ceilings. Central location is a five minute drive to Plain Hardware, 35 minutes to Steven's Pass, 20 minutes to Leavenworth. Sorry no pets!

This house was perfect for our three families of four! The house was beautiful and the kitchen was well stocked with everything we needed. The location is a short drive to Lake Wenatchee State Park and the Nordic Center at Stevens Pass. We will definitely come back in the future.

Love this place!

This is our third time staying here! Location is perfect and we all love being able to sled right outside! Clean and well appointed, and one of the easiest check in/check out process that we have experienced.

Such a great house!

This was our second time staying here for our family Leavenworth trip. Very clean and comfortable and had everything we needed. Lots of space for the kids to play and a big table for the whole family to play games at. The sled hill was perfect and we all enjoyed it! Perfect location for getting to town.

Summer long weekend

We had a wonderful stay. Very kid friendly property- lots of separation for different sleep / nap schedules, some toys, lots of space to play. We had a very minor plumbing concern and the property manager was in and out within 30 minutes of our call. Really great service.

Birthday celebration with friends and family

We spent the weekend at squirrel nut lodge to celebrate my 40th birthday with friends and family. The home was beautiful inside and out. The home was clean and fully functional. Cassie was a dream to work with. She is kind, helpful and responded quickly to all inquiries. We are grateful to have found such a wonderful place to celebrate for the weekend. Would love to come back and spend more time at the lodge!

Lovely Country Home

Loved this home, beautiful rolling hills in a country setting just outside of Leavenworth. I believe this home is fantastic for a large family with a 3rd floor that could hold a family of 6 second floor entry level with primary suite and lower level with a bedroom and separate lounging area. 3 bathrooms. Large dining table and a great kitchen. We were very pleased with this home & has great parking. Thank you For letting us enjoy your home away from home… it will be on the top of our list the next time we visit Leavenworth. JC

Well-stocked property with a gorgeous view

How are a recent stay with a family get together including three generations. Our youngest visitor was two and our oldest was 73. The property was accessible for all ages we found everything we could possibly need for our stay, including a well stocked, kitchen, and plenty of towels for the hot tub. Everything was very clean and welcoming. we enjoyed our stay very much and found the location. Perfect, a relatively short drive to Leavenworth, and very close to Plain, yet remote enough to be quiet and restful! We even got to see visiting deer on multiple days. Everyone had a great time. Work weekend

3 guys amd myself stayed there for the weekend as it was only 25 minutes to our project that was a very nice shop wiring job almost to the end of nowhere. But very nice area out there as well The house for us worked out great. Only issue was not being able to get tv to work. But wasn’t a big deal as I’m sure it was more us not being very good with the technology stuff now days I will for sure see if this is available again if working out in the area.

Great Property - not 5 Bedrooms

I will start this review with the positive details, of which there are many. This is a really nice 3 bedroom cabin, on a spectacular piece of land. The cabin was very clean, the check in process was smooth, and the owner responded promptly to our one concern during our trip. My issue with the property is that it is listed as a 5 bedroom cabin. They are counting the downstairs TV room as a bedroom (with fold out couch), as well as an open air loft upstairs as a bedroom. This is where we can get caught up in semantics on what is a bedroom, but my definition is a closed area dedicated to sleeping, which defines neither space. This was only an issue because we stayed here with 3 young children, who had a hard time falling asleep in the loft due to noise. If you don’t have older children, or children who can sleep through adults talking below, then this cabin has plenty of sleeping areas to accommodate a very large group. It just didn’t work for us. I do want to circle back and reiterate that this is a really nice cabin, and the setting outside is as beautiful and serene and you might find in the area. I think the issue is generated by how VRBO defines a bedroom VS just a sleeping area. This house has 3 bedrooms and 5-6 sleeping areas.

Not secluded but near-perfect

Only two things prevented me from giving a 5-star rating—1) I try to identify quiet and secluded rentals. The impression we were given was a country house on 5 acres, when the reality is several houses are visible and a main highway wraps around the property like a horseshoe. So there is road noise outside and not a feeling of country seclusion at all, however, the beautiful setting was still mostly quiet and the impeccably tasteful and comfortable house are nothing short of divine. 2) For some reason the hot water heater only provided us with 10 minute showers. In such a large house equipped for so many guests (ours had 5) one would think a tankless hot water heater or a larger tank would be a no-brainer. The WiFi/TV entertainment system was also not adequate during our stay but that seemed the exception rather than the norm. With those issues fixed, it would have been absolutely perfect. That said, we thoroughly enjoyed ourselves, the stunning architecture, the wild outdoor beauty, the snow on the ground even when Leavenworth had none, the sledding hill, a well-equipped kitchen, comfortable beds, plenty of blankets and pillows, top notch heating throughout the house as well as heated floors. Truly, a memorable experience and one of the very best stays we have ever enjoyed as a family. Would definitely love to come back!

A fabulous stay!

The property is well placed between Plain and Leavenworth. It is spacious and well organized, yet offers the comforts of home. It is an amazing, peaceful feeling to walk out on to the veranda and to look out over the valley. If you're looking for rest and relaxation, give it serious consideration. What made the stay even more memorable was the attentive communication with the property manager. Always responsive and helpful.

If Only…..

Staying at Squirrel Nut Lodge you’ll wish… You had another night Again and again Your car had chunky 4x4 tires as you imagine a beautiful winter holiday stay Your home had AC like the cabin One more cup of morning joe sitting in the rocker looking over the field You had corn hole at home where you could secretly practice so you children wouldn’t beat you Wonderful stay. Where are a large family often makes finding a vacation rental difficult. Squirrel Nut had plenty of space and options for sleeping. Thank you

Incredible home in a beautiful area of Washington

This property was amazing!!! We had such a fun time and it had everything we needed and more. We thoroughly enjoyed the hot tub, fire pit, porch swings, and lush valley views from the back porch. This home comfortably fit our group of 10 people, and there were ample linens, bathrooms, shampoo/body lotion, etc. Other reviews said that the loft got extremely hot during the summer - we were there during an 80-90 degree week and at night didn't have any issues with that area being too warm! The air conditioning downstairs worked QUITE well and I actually got chilly at times despite how hot it was outside :). Only complaint was that the downstairs pull out couch was incredibly uncomfortable and the people who slept there the first night had to spend the rest of the trip in the loft (there are 6 single beds up there so there was room). I would highly recommend this spot for groups and families visiting the Leavenworth / Lake Wenatchee area!

Snow Perfect!

Awesome vacation

We really enjoyed staying at this cabin. It was very comforting and cozy. The jacuzzi and the view were amazing. The house has everything you need. This house is great for families and the price is good. The check in and check out process was really easy and the house was very clean. The heated floors in the kitchen made the whole experience really cozy . Planning on coming back next year.

Beautiful House

The house is beautiful and was very clean. We came with our adult children and our grandchildren to play in the snow, visit the reindeer farm and take a sleigh ride. The house has a great sledding hill - fun for adults and kids. Beds were comfy and the kitchen had everything we needed to make our meals. We can’t wait to go back!

Great location, beautiful home

We had a wonderful in Leavenworth. The house was close to all activities we had planned and beautifully decorated. However, I was very disappointed that the loft area was so hot that my nieces and nephews had to sleep in the basement. The basement had queen rollout couch and king size bed but some family members still had to sleep on the floor. I cannot imagine what we would have done if had more family members staying with us. Quite surprised,as house seems newly built or remodeled with many amenities ,that an air conditioner was not installed in loft area. So that is why I gave rating of 4. Nevertheless, we had an awesome time in Leavenworth!

Best cabin get away!

The property was amazing and the cabin was stunning. My wife and I celebrated my 30th Birthday and this was perfect for a small get together with family and friends. Felt homey and we truly felt alone in the Cascades. Best vacation rental weve had the pleasure of enjoying.

Peaceful mountain retreat

Our large family really enjoyed staying here for a nearly a week. The house is filled with light, everything is brand-new and squeaky-clean – light wood everywhere, tasteful modern furniture and appliances. This is a great place! We particularly enjoyed the large dining room table which had room for everyone. After dinner we retreated into the cozy corner around the fire place for board games. There was ample room for everybody. Our kids loved their private room upstairs, and of course the hot tub was a hit. We adults enjoyed the view over the valley from the hot tub after tough hikes too. Every evening, incredibly tame deer stopped by the house, coinciding with the sun slowly setting. Idyllic. Although not truly isolated (there are some house and farms nearby), the house offers great privacy and a really nice view down the valley. The nearby country road has some traffic but this did not bother us at all. The only drawback were the less-than-welcoming neighbors. One of the farms further down in the valley has horses grazing out every night. Of course, our kids wanted to venture down there to see them up close. Although there are no fences demarcating property lines in the valley, our kids were admonished by the next-door neighbors to stay away and not cross their property. Of course, this is fully within their rights; yet, it still saddened us and the kids. The house is close to the trail heads of several hikes in the Lake Wenatchee area, very close to the lake where you can find horseback riding, kayaking and paddle boarding, all of which our kids loved. Come with groceries if you plan to stay longer because you will have to travel to the Leavenworth Safeway otherwise (not a biggie, but takes time away from being in nature). In short, a perfect family vacation home in a beautiful area!
