Villa Bel Sogno - Beautiful View Of Volterra And The Countryside.

Bel Sogno, a "beautiful dream".....we hope you will feel the same way after spending time in our Italian home. We visited Italy 12 years in a row, exploring so many areas of this incredible country. Our favourite place was Tuscany, and after so many years we decided to create our own home away from home. The views captivated us, and after looking at 400 houses on line, and over 25 in person...this was our favourite by a mile! It checked every box on our wish list and the view exceeded anything we had seen. It continues to captivate us... still in love.

Near the ancient hill town of Volterra, surrounded by the green Tuscan countryside is Villa Bel Sogno. Part of Borgo Collevicchi, we are on the top of a hill in the heart of Tuscany with breathtaking views of nearby valleys. This newly restored farm outbuilding contains our apartment. Our apartment is surrounded by landscaped gardens & cypress trees, all reflective of the perfect Tuscan landscape. It has all the modern amenities yet captures the Tuscan feel of architecture and design.

Each of the two well appointed bedrooms has it's own air conditioner to provide comfort during the hot summer nights. To enjoy nature's gentle breezes, bug screens on metal tracks have been installed to allow the double doors to remain open without letting in nature's tiny creatures.

Enjoy beautiful dreams on our pillow top mattresses in both bedrooms. The master bedroom features 2 extra long twin beds that can connect to form a King size bed or be enjoyed separately. The master also has an en-suite bathroom. The second bedroom has a Queen bed. The living room has a pullout queen size sofa bed. There is a second full bathroom available for guests.

The kitchen features a gas stove, oven, dishwasher and full fridge. The apartment also features a washing machine with a private courtyard to air dry your laundry. The entire apartment is on the ground level and has no stairs, easy for small children or guests with mobility issues.

Enjoy al fresco dining under your pergola in your private garden while savoring the panoramic views of Volterra. After dinner, enjoy a glass of wine on the outdoor couch and then take in the sunset from the pool deck.

A panoramic pool makes the borgo an even more special & relaxing place after a day of sightseeing in Tuscany. The pool is open from June 1st to September 30th and is 8 metres by 4 metres.

Brilliant accommodation in a stunning setting. An incredibly peaceful part of Italy with plenty to see and do. The house was superbly presented and has everything you need for a perfect holiday. We had a wonderful time! Celebrated our 40th anniversary and our friends their 25th! The property and villa was everything and more than we could’ve imagined. Had everything we needed and very comfortable. We went to most of the places recommended by our host and on site contact, Luigi. Enjoyed everything about our stay.

Astonishing! Amazing! Incredible! We absolutely loved our time in Bel Sogno. The property is immaculately clean, exquisitely maintained, and has everything you could want. (Including the most comfortable beds we have experienced in Europe.) The location is perfect. And the people are fantastic. Eric and Tania were absolutely lovely to work with and Luigi and his family (who maintain the property and run the Agriturismo restaurant on the grounds) are just wonderful. Several times since we left, everyone in my family (including the teenagers) have said “I miss Luigi!” If you plan to spend time in Tuscany, this is a perfect home base. Make sure you eat at least one meal at Santa Vittoria, Luigi’s restaurant. The food is incredible, the service couldn’t be better, and the views are unparalleled. We hope to return to Tuscany someday and would stay here again in a heartbeat.

The location and view were perfect for out Tuscany vacation. The air conditioning was perfect with the heat wave in Italy as well. The restaurant ran by Luigi and his family was perfect with excellent service. The pool was well maintained and needed with the heat. Highly recommend.

Spectacular location

With out a doubt this property was the best it could be. Location, view, residence,comfort. We felt so at home here and enjoyed every minute of our 7 day stay. Tuscan perfection

Expansive views, comfortable living, accommodating owners, great manager, delicious food on premises! We celebrated our 40th anniversary here and were utterly delighted with the location and the property. Views from the front were incredible. Everything we needed was provided by Tania and Eric! Magical week in Tuscany

We stayed at Bel Sogno for a week to attend a wedding near Volterra. It was a magical time. The views from the property were stunning. The outdoor space was amazing and the indoor spaces were comfortable and well-furnished. We made cappuccinos daily to enjoy with croissants that we purchased from the nearby farmhouse. The beds were comfortable, the kitchen well-appointed and the house attractively furnished. I'm still thinking about our time there. This stay was a perfect getaway after a hectic week in Rome and Florence—our thanks to hosts Tania and Eric and manager Luigi for the perfect Tuscan retreat.

Italy beauty

Relaxing, beautiful, amazing, exactly has advertised only better. Great location for day drives to see the Italian country side, yet close enough to attractions like Volterra for the day. Host was amazing responded quickly with answers to questions and offered details of where groceries and other needs could be found for your stay. On site manger was most helpful, accommodating great to deal with and has a great place to eat dinner should you decide to go out. I would highly recommend this location. The perfect getaway - a heaven on earth!

We were two couples travelling in Italy and stayed at five great places. We all equally fell in love with Villa Bel Sogno as one of our two top picks. The villa was beautiful and offered us the serenity and beauty of the area with gorgeous views to take in when waking up or at the end of the day. You can see the hilltop of the town of Volterra in the distance and the full moon in early am. We loved it. We also had great breakfasts at Luigi's in the morning and enjoyed Mama Maria's great cooking. We all want to go back. Do recognize you need to supply your own drinking water.

Paradise in Volterra

The pictures do not do tell the whole story of this amazing property. Our time was too short in Volterra. The restaurant within walking distance is fantastic. Be sure to sign up for fresh bread in the morning...melts in your mouth. We did a wine tour & tasting/food pairing at Podere La Chiesa which is not to be missed and the cooking class through Arianna & Friends was one of the highlights of our trip! We spent an afternoon on the spacious & comfortable patio soaking in the views while drinking wine and eating fresh mozzarella, basil, tomato salad with an antipasto platter. The mozzarella and fresh tomatoes were absolutely delicious. The villa was very comfortable and has everything you need. Do not hesitate to book this property...we hope to return!

Beautiful Bel Sogno

We had another beautiful holiday at Bel Sogno - this was our second stay. It was again very clear it was a good decision to come back. Everywhere you look is just beautiful - feels like you’ve jumped into a painting. The apartment is very comfortable and has everything you need. The pool is wonderful and refreshing in the August heat. This trip we drove all the way from the uk, this was 2 days of driving, we were pretty exhausted but within the first few hours we felt completely relaxed and this is due to the environment and beautiful surroundings. Dinners at Luigi’s (on site) are great quality along with beautiful sunsets. We LOVE Volterra - to us just as nice if not nicer than some of a larger more famous towns but without the crowds. We enjoyed paninis for lunch from a little sandwich shop just off of the main square (which always has a queue) they were delicious along with the kids to favourite gelato spots - chic & Shock or L'isola del Gusto. Hosts are very responsive to any queries and welcoming to their home. We can’t wait to come back again - Volterra and Bel Sogno are very special.

Beautiful Bel Sogno

We had a wonderful time at Bel Sogno. The apartment is very comfortable, bedding, sheets etc all wonderful quality. Our kids loved the soft blankets. The high tiled ceilings and relaxing colours in bedrooms were very restful. The apartment remained cool even without use of the air conditioning but for added coolness on hot days the air conditioning worked really quickly and well. Plenty of cooking equipment and lots of seating options outside. Sitting on the terrace just taking in the changing colours of the view was beautiful. Dinner at Luigi’s (on site) was great if you prefer not to drive out. We also went to Volterra most days and one morning for breakfast which was gorgeous. The whole surrounding area is stunning to look at. The set up at the pool works well, with each property having their own spot and sun beds. 70% of the time we would have the pool to ourselves - it never felt at all busy. We had 2 children with us (10 & 11) who also enjoyed their stay very much. We visited Siena, Florence and Val de Elsa along with Volterra most days for Gelato! Wish we had stayed a little longer. Our recommendation would be to fly to Pisa rather than Florence. Florence has a short run way and sometimes if it’s windy they divert to Pisa anyway. We flew to Florence but would definitely switch to Pisa next time. We had a great week and would love to come back again.

Die Küche war zum Kochen perfekt ausgestattet, mehr als ausreichende Geschirr, Kaffeetassen, Weingläser. Zwei sehr schöne Schlafzimmer mit Blick in die toskanische Landschaft mit jeweils einem tollen Bad. Alles sehr sauber. Traumhafte Veranda mit sehr schönem Garten. Sehr schöner Pool in der Anlage. Nicht weit zu zwei sehr guten Restaurants. Nicht weit nach Volterra - einfach Perfekt !

Schönes Ferienhaus mit traumhafter Lage

Im Juni 2025 waren wir mit Freunden für eine Woche Gäste im Bel Sogno. Der Bick in die Natur und auf Volterra sowie die Lage sind einfach nur wunderbar. Die Ausstattung ist sehr gut und geschmackvoll. Das Haus ist sauber und absolut empfehlenswert.Zu kritisieren ist der Zustand der Duschen: Die Silikonabdichten an den Duschabtrennungen müssten erneuert werden

Under the Tuscan sun

Wow!! The beauty of this location is hard to describe- it was like living in a painting! The house was perfect for our family of 5. It was a great home base to discover nearby towns like Volterra and San Gimignano. Luigi’s restaurant on the property was a highlight! It was very hot while we were there and soaking in the pool and admiring the view was pureMagic! We will be back!

Growing up in Canada, we have been lucky to travel to many wonderful countries. We fell in love with Tuscany over 20 years ago, and after many, many visits decided it was the right time to find a home to enjoy. We love to travel, and have found two places near & dear to our heart. Tuscany, Italy and Northern Ontario.

Why they chose this property

We took our time to research over 400 properties on line and narrowed it to 25 properties to tour while in the region. This was the first property we saw, and set the standard for the other 24 homes that we visited. After a few more return visits, we knew this apartment was meant to be ours. The views took our breath away even on a winter's day in Volterra.

We have stayed in many vacation properties in Italy over the past 20 years and knew we could make this a home away from home for us & others.

What makes this property unique

Scenic views yet 10 minutes to Volterra and 20 minutes to San Gimignano. Private garden & shared pool to enjoy. Wonderful Agriturismo only a minute walk away!
