Great location near Nolan State Park. We walked down to the park and beach. The Green River Ferry provided a quick and fun way to get to Mammoth Cave. The fire pit was awesome. The screened porch was nice too but could use a deep cleaning and some screens fixed. Overall, that didn't hinder our trip. It's a great layout with plenty of space and could easily serve 2 families as the upstairs and downstairs both have a living room, 2 bedrooms, bathroom and kitchen.
Bring soap and shampoo. Also cooking oil if you plan to cook. In my experience, this has been provided at other VRBO properties so I was surprised. If you have a full house , it's probably a smart idea to bring a few extra towels. The state park as of June 2026 is closed. Google maps shows the Green Ferry as closed, but it was open. You want to take the Green River route to Mammoth Cave; otherwise the drive is 45 minutes.
We stayed 2 nights and found everything in decent condition. Check was simple. Furnishings in the living room are pretty worn out. The screen on porch is falling at the top also. It’s close to the lake, which is great. The only other negatives were the internet wasn’t reliable and there aren’t many places to eat nearby.
The place was clean, spacious, and in a great location (close to the lake and close to Mammoth Cave National Park). We would definitely stay here again.
The cabin was amazing and in the perfect location. Even thought the state park was closed the fire pit and nature gave us plenty to do. The cabin was clean and the host was very responsive. We already said when we come back we want to book this cabin again…. It was just amazing!!
Was private and very family friendly with bedrooms and kitchens on both floors. Not as close to Mammoth Cave visitor center as I had hoped. Not very clean.
Overall pretty good, but unlike other plaxes we've rented there was not much provided. No water, soap, shampoo, condiments. About the only thing there was was salt, pepper, and garlic powder.
We had a fun time here. It's a short walk to the beautiful sunsets by the lake and had everything we needed for a family vacation. The grill worked well, the fire pit was perfect for smores, and the extra kitchen worked well for keeping drinks cold.
The house was very nice. Everything we needed was there for us. We all had plenty of room.
We spent each night at the fire pit. Great time was had by all of us!
We stayed here with our friends to celebrate my husband's birthday and go hiking at Mammoth cave. It was very clean, easily accessible, and was reasonably close to mammoth cave. A little further down the road there is also a little park with a lake that had an incredible sunset when we were there.
This house was perfect for two families since there are two kitchens, and everybody had their own space.
Although I would not recommend sleeping downstairs as you can hear every noise from the upstairs area.
Family from 3 states came together to visit and see Mammoth Cave and Nashville. The house was very comfortable and located a short walk from trails and the water in Nolan State park. It’s located away from everything and very quiet, but also a fairly quick drive to stores and food. We enjoyed our time there very much! We especially enjoyed watching the rabbits and deer eat breakfast every morning from the large porch!!
