Late-summer Visit
Quiet and incredibly peaceful. Outstanding exterior views both day and night, and an abundance of bird-watching. Home is spacious with many places to tuck oneself with a good book or a journal. The large windows overlooking the long slope of the backyard down to the Puget Sound are perfect to stand at with morning coffee.

A big slice of heaven
This house is simply amazing!! Overlooking the water, we had a fantastic time. It is spacious and fully loaded. It is private and has lots of room to roam around, coffee on the back deck, and a walk around the yard. We enjoyed Father’s Day brunch at the house and had some friends join us. We also brought our 10 lb dog. The house is easy to navigate to Poulsbo, Port Gamble, Fort Warden, and Port Townsend. If you are coming from SeaTac, we took the Bainbridge ferry over, with our rental car, and it’s about 20-25 minute drive to the house. Easy check in/out. Susan was fantastic! Thank you Alain and Susan, we had a fantastic stay and definitely will be back!

A lovely place with plenty of space
Great stay at the Eagle House. Almost everything about our stay was great. Knocking off one star for a couple of quibbles: the beds were not as comfortable as one might like (my daughter found her twin very hard and the master queen was a bit saggy and tended to slope toward the middle); and the HVAC - at least in the master bedroom - was really loud (though that is probably a winter-specific issue). That was offset by a lovely space with a spectacular view and a full range of amenities for cooking, laundry, etc. We will very likely return in the future!

Beautiful spot
This was our third time at this property. The view is just so gorgeous and the house fits our family perfectly. Enough room to spread out and enough room to come together. The caretaker Susan is great. We love the area with small towns, golf, and biking/hiking trails all an easy drive away.

Quiet Retreat
If you are looking for a quiet retreat, this is the place. We spent four relaxing days at this beautiful house overlooking the Puget Sound. The late summer golden light, the last of the blackberries, fall orchard smells and the quiet space will stay in my mind forever. The soft lapping of the waves and occasional drone of boat engines could be heard from time to time. We brought along our dog, who made good use of the lawn playing disc as often as she could convince is to throw for her. I think she enjoyed sitting on the big deck and looking out to the water just as much as we did. The large kitchen was completely outfitted with whatever a person needs to make fabulous meals, and even had the utensils for the Dungeness crab we had brought along. It was a much larger place than what we needed, but we thoroughly enjoyed our stay and hope we could visit again.

Serenity and Great views in Indianola
We stayed as a family of 4 for our National Park visits base. Couldn’t be more impressed with the home and owners. From nights at the fire pit making s’mores to mornings looking over Puget Sound and afternoons eating dinner on the porch - this house was perfect for us. The owner and on-site caretaker communicated before our arrival to make sure everything was just right for our stay. We’d recommend this home to anyone looking to stay near Indianola.

Exquisite, peaceful, and beautiful
This house is magnificent! It was totally magical! The house is so well taken care of; has everything you need; beds are comfortable, kitchen is fully stocked (even thoughtfully had great teas, coffees, olive oil, balsamic vinegar and spices for cooking); the wrap around porch is amazing (we did not want to leave!); the views to the water, to Seattle, and of Mt Rainier are are stunning; the wildlife is fun, including eagles; the silence is golden, where you just hear the birds chirping. Susan, who lives in a house close by, takes care of anything and any questions you have, and she is just lovely! We so very much enjoyed having her as a neighbor and support. Alan, the owner, is very responsive also. The location is great also because you are right next to Windclift Gardens, and close by there is a country store and a beautiful long dock and beach. It was so great to stay there. A beautiful memory! We hope to be back! Thank you Alan and Susan for sharing your magic!

Gorgeous place for family retreat
This is our second visit to this special property, and we just loved it. You cannot get a better view of Puget Sound, Mt Rainier, islands, and Seattle across the water. There is just one step to get into the house and the primary bedroom on the main floor, so it works for those who cannot do many stairs. The decor is like visiting grandma — everything is cozy and just a little worn. My 3-generation family can relax and enjoy the quiet serenity and play music and games together. The big yard full of fruit trees is especially fun in the fall. The host Susan is so nice and did everything to make sure we had a great stay. We look forward to coming back.

Lovely, comfortable and spacious house with excellent facilities
We stayed here for two weeks whilst visiting family. House was very spacious and was fully equipped. We wanted for nothing. The on-site caretaker, Susan, was discrete in her presence but available for any help needed and she was very polite and friendly. Views were amazing and lots of wildlife to see (Eagles, rabbits and raccoons in garden). Overall, extremely comfortable and we would highly recommend.

Perfect work from home away from home location!
We needed a short term rental that would allow us to work remotely for a week, with a kitchen, that allowed dogs. This was perfect if a bit big for our needs. We're hoping to return in the future for a long weekend with friends to enjoy the beautiful location with amazing views again. The property manager is lovely and made everything super easy for us.

Amazing Stay
This is definitely a 5 star location, house and experience. Owner was very accommodating, helpful and considerate during our emails. The house is amazing with a world class view. Very cozy, clean, peaceful and the best Caretaker you could ask for. I can't possibly fully do justice to what a special and kind person Susan was. She is the caretaker for the property, but she went above and beyond to make us feel like special guests. Never intruded on our stay, and we loved our conversations that we shared. The house is large, it actually has 2 1/2 bathrooms and 4 very large and inviting rooms. Saw the eagles every day. The drive is a little off the beaten path, but well worth the time it took to get here. Very close to the Kingston to Edmonds ferry, to access the Seattle side of the water. We had a lot going on in Seattle, but had time for a lot of Eagle watching and relaxing on the huge porch with a bbq. The fire pit with a view of Seattle, the Cascades and Bainbridge Island was also a highlight. We will definitely plan on coming back here. Rob, Traci, Carter, Rowdy and Apollo

A Great Getaway Spot!
We can't say enough positive things about the property - especially location! We stayed for nearly two weeks over Christmas and had snow! (which turned to ice on the road). With 4WD and chains, we had no problems getting in and out. The views were fantastic. Seattle ever day and night (except when it was snowing), Mt Ranier on clear days, ships passing, eagles either flying by or perched on tree tops (every day!), and a huge yard above the sound. The house had more than enough room for us, our dog and Christmas tree. Very comfortable and warm. All the pots, pans and dishes we needed. Fireplace made it all cozy and we were comfortable on day one! With the snow and ice, many places were closed down for a handful of days, so we stayed in and had everything we needed. A great place to just stay and enjoy. Alan the owner was great getting us set up with the rental. Susan the on-site caretaker was fabtastic! Always there if we needed anything or had any questions and gave us all the privacy we wanted. They are both great. We couldn't be happier with our time there - and got great photos. We want to come back when the weather is warmer! Thanks so much!

Idyllic location on a high bluff overlooking the Puget Sound.
The location of this rental at the end of a long road in a tiny and charming town make it ideal for those wishing for a remote getaway. The property and the views cannot be beat. If you are looking for a well stocked kitchen for cooking and plenty of outdoor space to enjoy your meals, this is your place. However, if fancy is what you after, this spot needs many updates. Unfortunately, the home is dated and there were many glitchy things to contend with and the furnishings could be updated to really make this home shine. All that factored in, it was a lovely stay and we hope to return. The onsite host was attentive, but not over-engaged which we appreciated greatly.

Simply the best
We had a fabulous time at this property. The view is to die for. The location is great — a retreat in the woods with golf, bike trails, and several cute towns nearby. The kitchen is well stocked with equipment for cooking and family dining. The living and dining rooms are cozy. My father, who cannot climb stairs, could easily navigate the ground floor — only one step to get in. No shower on the ground floor but the grand bathtub more than makes up for that. Caretaker Susan was friendly and easy to work with. We could not ask for more.

Absolutely amazing hideaway!
First of all, both Alan and Susan were tremendous to work with. Very prompt and eager to answer questions/make requests. Would definitely work with them in the future! As far as the property goes, it is an absolute dream! The views are spectacular!. It is at the end of the road off a well beaten path... perfect for those of us wanting to escape the rat race. The only complaint I have, and it is a sarcastic complaint, is that I was woken up two morning by bald eagles screeching outside the window... how cool was that!!! The small community that surrounds the house is adorable. Makes me want to move in next door! Highly recommended!!!

Slice of Paradise
This rental was exactly what we were looking for in a family vacation getaway. The location is far enough from "it all" to feel like a retreat, but not inconvenient to basic services. The views cannot be topped - WOW! We loved the yard and firepit, the common spaces for games and entertainment (including a quirky foosball table upstairs), the porches, and the comfortable beds. We were visited twice by a soaring bald eagle over the yard while relaxing on the porch. If only we could move in... Things to know: the downstairs master bath has a European-style soaking tub and hand-held shower (no curtain), so not that accessible for anyone who can't climb in and out of a deep tub. There is a "regular" shower upstairs. The appliances in the kitchen could use an upgrade, but we were able to prepare several lovely family meals with little trouble. The dining room chairs are all sunk in the middle, unfortunately, but we were able to use other chairs and add cushions to make seating around the table more comfortable. All of this is in character with the overall atmosphere of the house, which we just loved. Cannot wait to come back.
