Cloudsong invites you to relax and unwind in elegant self contained chalet accommodation close to the village centre and surrounded by lovely gardens and spectacular mountain scenery.
Enjoy the ambiance of a country village, stroll to the coffee shops and galleries and walk home under the stars after dining at a village restaurant or the local.
Summer offers long quiet evenings on the deck watching the sunset on the escarpments. Alternatively, in winter, enjoy the cozy wood fire; firewood provided from May to September.
Cloudsong is 2 hours drive from both Sydney and Canberra and close to local wineries, National Parks, historic sites, adventures activities, pristine beaches and beautiful natural scenery.
Each private chalet accommodates two people with luxurious kingsize beds. Each is fully self contained and facilities include airconditioning, wood fire, TV, DVD and player, microwave and fully equiped kitchen and Nespresso coffee machine; BYO pods.
* For last minute bookings please call our office.
* Cloudsong does accept 1 night bookings but it is at a higer nightly rate. To get the best deal book 2 nights or more.

Weekend or Midweek 1 night
Long weekend - Public Holidays - 2 nights
Easter - 3 nights
Christmas and New Year - 2 nights
Mid week pricing applicable for Monday to Thursday nights only
Mid week rates do not apply to any bookings that includes a Friday/Saturday or Sunday night
Weekly pricing rates offered do not apply for a Saturday to Saturday stay (crossing 2 weekends)

Short break

The property was really well located, right in the centre of Kangaroo Valley although this meant there was road noise during the day. View from the upstairs balcony was lovely and the room and balconies fairly private. Cleanliness was a real let down however, all items in the kitchen had to be re-washed before use, the toilet still had remnants of previous guests in it, the bathroom overall smelt constantly mouldy and shower grout was mouldy. Two towels for the entire stay even when hung up never dried in the damp bathroom. The kitchen oven and fridge are really outdated, the freezer in the fridge was so iced up the door hardly closed and there were items frozen within the ice. The entrance and main deck were very muddy from previous occupants footsteps. From 4am to 6 or 7am every morning there were animals, most likely possums crashing and bashing their way back into the walls to sleep for the day which woke us up every night of stay. Some sort of night lighting on the dark timber stairs would be recommended to assist getting from the bedroom upstairs to the bathroom downstairs during the night as it’s quite a hazard in the dark. The place has potential but for the cost per night I think an upgrade to the facilities offering, cleaner, and pest inspection is warranted.

Thanks for your feedback. The Cloudsong Chalets are conveniently located in the heart of Kangaroo Valley Village within walking distance of the shops, restaurants and pub. This does mean that there is a bit of traffic on the road during the day but being a country town it is very quiet of an evening. The chalets are professionally cleaned between each stay and the cleaner normally does a really good job but apologies if any items were overlooked. It does sound like a previous guest may have put things away in the cupboards without cleaning them properly. The muddy footprints on the deck and the noise at night is actually the same culprit. A wombat decided to take up residence underneath the chalet and while very cute can be a bit of a nuisance at times . Being a protected native species it is not simply a matter of contacting a pest controller as you suggest. Additional screening has since been installed to prevent the wombat from getting under the chalet and encourage it to make its home elsewhere. We look forward to welcoming you back to Kangaroo Valley some time in the future.

A beautiful, cosy Chalet, close to town with a stunning view

We had a beautiful weekend away at Cloudsong. The accommodation was clean, nicely decorated and very cosy. For a winter escape, the wood fire was perfect and kept the whole Chalet toasty warm. Kangaroo Valley township was right at our doorstep and the view from the accommodation was absolutely stunning. The perfect place to relax and unwind.
