This property is perfect for the weekend ski trip with the family! The kitchen is well stocked with necessities and the beds are super comfy! Will definitely stay here again!
My wife and I visited to celebrate our 31st anniversary and had a great time unwinding at the property. As well, plenty of interesting things to see and do around the area. For us, it was all one could ask for out of a weekend trip.
Located very close to Beach Mountain ski resort. Beautiful view from deck. Lots of deer for you to enjoy and feed. There had been snow a few days earlier and the access road was closed but the owner was very helpful and sent me tips on the best place to park and navigate to the property. Fireplace was great also.
It was an amazing and unforgettable experience. Just shy of our arrival, the owner Paul had already reached out giving us instructions and gave us even more to look forward to. Appreciated the warm welcome and how much he wanted us to relax and enjoy our stay.
If it is snowing, AWD or 4WD is a must or snow chains on FWD to get up and down the road leading to main street from cabin.
We enjoyed our stay! Paul was a great host and communicated well with us. Location was great, with easy access to the ski slopes and other towns such as Banner Elk, Boone, and Blowing Rock. Wildlife was abundant with plenty of deer to feed.
A quiant walk down through condo buildings overlooking the mountains was a treat, except the night a bear the size of your living room couch must have smelled the scrumptious pizza we carried. Our hearts raced along with our feet. We bought a bear souvenir to remember the night we felt delicious.
The place was a bit dated but the pricing accounts for that. Do not count on using the washer and dryer in the unit. Odd setup. Parking is a bit inconvenient. Otherwise it is well stocked and the hosts are very accommodating.

House rental
Property was very hard and confusing to get to. There wasn’t a key in the lockbox like we were told but we did have a code so that was ok
I think the description should include how many steps there were getting down to house - especially for handicap people. It was hard to communicate with the property managers ahead of time but our manager did answer the phone that day to tell us how to get down to house
Overall the experience was good
Our stay was terrible we arrived at night around 9:30 pm it was a VERY hard property to find then we finally found it and door had difficulty opening which owner had made us aware of but took awhile to get in. We lugged all seven pieces of luggage and all our groceries into house and entered to find it beyond unclean …… disgusting and not at all even like the listing. The entire condo had not been cleaned after previous tenant there were linens on the floor and wet towels from kitchen and food and mess everywhere. We called owners immediately and went on a thirty min hunt for linens in owners closet with none to be found. Our options were to start washing linens or find another place for the night. It was impossible to find anyplace but the Four seasons resort found an outside owner who had a place for us to stay. We drove around for over an hour till we finally located the place and it was insanely old but clean. We drug all our luggage into the two story condo and collapsed into bed with our clothes all on. It was after midnight. We woke up next morning had to be out by 10 and touched base with owners they did take care of nights stay at this place which def should’ve been. We were told cleaners were coming to clean and they would call us when done. We do not usually eat out on trips we usually cook just how we are but we are out breakfast because our groceries were tied up in other condo and ate out lunch and then returned to condo around 3:30 when it was supposedly clean. Upon returning we found food still on floor in kitchen and popcorn kernels inside on carpet and the tub and showers and sinks had been rinsed but were not clean and there was still toothpaste in sink and on mirrors. I went down into town to grab some cleaning supplies and clean myself upon returning my son told me there was hair and makeup on his sheets and everything truly looked so wrinkled like it hasn’t been washed so I gave it the benefit of a doubt with the makeup and tried to remove it with water and some spray they had at condo it easily came out which proved to me the linens were still dirty. I removed all linens & started washing them. I had to drive back into town & grab some detergent because there was only one load of detergent left at condo. Keep in mind everything in town is three times as much as normal priced. washed linens & towels & cleaned condo until late in night and towels finished next day… washer is very small.. there’a more but outta room HORRIBLE

Hi Stephanie, we want our guests to arrive at a vacation home that is 100% ready for their stay, so we take the cleanliness of our properties seriously! We followed up with the homeowner after reading your feedback, and they wanted to share the following:
- We sincerely apologize that the condo was not cleaned and prepared for your arrival. We make cleanliness and sanitization top priorities, and our cleaning crew takes pride in providing a clean and comfortable stay for all our guests.
- The cleaning company was unaware that their cleaner was not able to get to the condo. This error was an anomaly and not a regular occurrence for the cleaners, but we're all very sorry it happened.
- As soon as the cleaners were informed, they immediately addressed the situation.
- We also made every effort to make things right by covering additional costs, providing a partial refund, sending food and gift cards to cover your meals throughout your stay, and sending a gift card when you returned home.
- The cleaning company has made changes to their crew so this will not happen in the future.
The owners do all they can to make the best possible stay, and we look forward to this property hosting many satisfied guests!
What a great cozy ski lodge style cabin with incredible mountain views. The unit was well supplied with coffee, condiments, appliances etc. and the owners were more than accommodating and genuinely made us feel at home. We really enjoyed our stay and am looking forward to coming back.
Our family had a very nice stay in this condo. There was one small issue during the stay, however the owner was very responsive and so the issue was very quickly resolved.
This was our second time at this townhouse and thankfully the weather was much improved for this trip. We had a wonderful time. The views are amazing. Highly recommend waking up early to enjoy the sunrise. Loved feeding the deer and sitting by the fireplace. We love the mountain air..can’t wait to cold back. Thank you.

The property was great, not really handicap friendly, but we made it work for one young lady in our group! Clean, plenty of space, breathtaking views, abundant wildlife.

Some challenges but overall good
The Pros:
The view is incredible! The condo is very cute, well decorated, everything you need to feel very much at home. You can tell the owners really care about the place and have put a lot of love into it. The proximity to Beech Mountain is wonderful and we thought the price was very reasonable.
The Cons:
As other reviews have mentioned, you have to take a very narrow access road to get to the condo (one car at a time with LOTS of other condos), and there's only one place to turn around to get back to the top. We arrived in the dark and it was crazy foggy so it took us quite a while to find the condo. If the access road were closed (which I'm guessing they do during foul weather) it would be a pretty miserable location, as you have to drive up to the top to park and walk at least 100 stairs to get up and down. A family of 4 with small kids and lots of ski gear, with the access road closed, and the stairs would be miserable, but luckily for us the road was open and we were able to drive up and down to load and unload.
The other con is the heater and other appliances in the house are older and very loud. There were also a lot of noisy neighbors and what sounded like construction or cleaning going on during all three nights we were there (from 11pm - around 2 am) and with the mix of the two we slept horribly...basically not at all.
Lastly, the wifi kept going in and out, so watching the smart tv was pretty frustrating. The fireplace is also on a timer, and the timer clicks are very loud as it counts down, so it detracts from the rest of the overall beauty of the condo.
Overall we weren't necessarily disgruntled...aside from the sleep and wifi we had a really great time. That being said we'll stay somewhere else next time.

Hi Zach, the owner would like to share the following:
"Thank you for staying with us and for the nice compliments!
- We do address the issue with the stairs in the description to make folks aware before booking, but the tradeoff is the wonderful views! Unfortunately, there isn't much we can do about the stairs to the condo except to advertise it.
- We feel horrible you experienced issues with noise. We ask our guests to be respectful and keep the noise down starting at 11:00 pm. Had we known, we certainly would have reached out to ask our neighbors (or their renters, perhaps) to do the same. It is unacceptable, and we sincerely apologize.
- The wifi was recently upgraded, and we had hoped that would address the intermittent service, although we've been told that is part of mountain life. Regardless, we will address this the next time we are there to help improve the situation.
Thank you again for staying with us at The Beech Haus. We always try to make people feel comfortable and enjoy our little slice of paradise!"
Great weekend get away to enjoy some time in the snow.
We had a great experience with this property and hope to come back. We were slightly intimidated at first by the stairs and all our stuff since the access road was closed but the views, snow for the kids to play, deer all around and get space were worth it. We hope to come back soon.
My family and I had a great ski vacation at this property. The views from the condo are amazing and it’s proximity to the ski slopes was perfect. This property does require walking steps back and forth to the parking area so guests with mobility issues need to be aware.
