Sandpiper is a low density three story complex. Enjoy watching the waves roll in as you sit on the balcony. This unique V shape building and shared common area walkway in front of each condo lends to a friendly get to know your neighbor atmosphere. Family reunions, large groups of people traveling together and individual families choose this property often. The tropical courtyard, seasonally-heated swimming pool (The pool is generally heated from March 1 to November 30, weather permitting) and grilling areas give Sandpiper an ambiance all its own. It is a highly requested property and has the most repeat guests.

Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: We had a LOVELY time - the weather, company and accommodations were great! Some of the furnishings were dated, but everything still worked. As they were leaving, our friends mentioned that the door to the hallway bathroom was hard to close and did not stay closed. They also said the hot water handle on the bathroom sink leaked. I would've called you from there if I knew it before we left!

Our place was beautiful! Location and property was well maintained. The only note I had was more appliances in the kitchen such as a blender.

Mr. Presnell, we talked over the phone when you booked, explaining the check in procedure. We had a guest packet prepared for you and called you repeatedly the day of arrival so that we could give you your door code. Your voice mail was not set up, so we also texted you several times. We also reached out to you through VRBO. Because the office was closing and we had not reached you, we secured your code outside our office door. We texted instructions to your cell phone and sent them through VRBO as well. Our After Hours service and our Manager on Duty were all prepared to assist you in getting into your condo, no matter the time of your arrival.

Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: The condo was beautiful and had fantastic furniture, beds, and linens. There was a water leak in the ceiling while we were there. The site manager came out immediately and also provided a new towel set to replace the ones we used for the leak. The complex is right on the beach and provides great parking on the bottom level. The centrally located pool offers a great meeting place for all the "neighbors" in the complex. The neighbors were a little loud the last day to sit on the front porch but inside the condo it was pleasantly quiet.

Overall, I do not recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: The unit is a blast from the past. The Wicker furniture is oversized and it would be a benefit to get a couple recliners and a smaller couch. The beds are comfortable. The toaster needs to be replaced. It would also be helpful to have some hooks inside the door for jackets and a small shelf for shoes. It can help to keep the sand out of the unit. Also hooks in the bathroom for towels. Although all of items on display are nice, they take up valuable space. Also the carpet under the table is a bit of a hazard. The location is wonderful as you can open the shades and have a great view of the Gulf. I believe blinds might be a better option as I felt like I was in a fishbowl when they were opened. Other units have a refrigerator with water and ice options on the exterior, that also could be updated. These are just my suggestions. Thank you.

Great week at the Beach!

Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: Sandpiper 6B is a great condo. Right on the beach! The whole condo has a family friendly atmosphere. Since it only has 3 floors - no waiting on elevators and not as crowded. There was even an evening beach party one night for a birthday party - had a DJ on the beach and everyone brought chairs and listened to great music. The condo was very clean. Beds were very comfortable. It could use a few more things in the kitchen - plates, bowls, etc. But we made do with what we had. One downside is that it did not have any “extras” like other condos we have rented. For example - there were no beach chairs, boogie boards, or beach toys. So be prepared to bring your own or use the beach service. Overall, we had a great and relaxing week and enjoyed our time there.

Won't go back to Sandpiper Unit 6B

Rating Details: The property manager was very helpful. The vacation rental was clean. I was very happy with the location. I was somewhat dissatisfied with the condition of the vacation rental. Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: We've stayed at Sandpiper each winter for the past 8 years. This was our first stay at Unit 6B. The unit is sparsely outfitted with kitchenware and basic cleaning needs. We bought our own mixing bowls and cooking utensils. There was no dustpan to use with the broom, so we bought one. We also had to solicit a floor mop from the management company, then purchased a bucket to use with the mop. Drywall tape in one bedroom was pulled back from ceiling to floor. Unit over-decorated in "palm tree" themes. Faux plants took up precious floor and counter space. Living room furniture old; seat cushions sagged to the point where you ended up sitting on chair/sofa frame and got uncomfortable within 30 minutes. Bedroom carpeting old, worn and dingy. Bender Realty staff extremely friendly and eager to assist when we brought issues to their attention. Wish Sandpiper's pool was heated and available in January & February. Otherwise, Sandpiper complex seems always to keep up with overall maintenance issues.

Eighth year, and a little disappointed

I was somewhat dissatisfied with the condition of the vacation rental. Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: This is our eighth year at the Sandpiper but our first in Unit 6B. The complex is managed by Bender Realty. Their staff is friendly and very responsive to issues brought to their attention. The Sandpiper Condominiums have had some issues. There is only an outdoor swimming pool, but it is not heated in the winter months. This year the pool has been drained and the entire pool deck closed so it could be prepared for painting. This pool was repainted just a couple of years ago. Though unable to swim, we can't even sit or congregate in the sun on the deck. This year the complex was having the stones in the covered parking areas removed and replaced. Half the parking was lost for a couple of weeks while this work was underway. Our stay in Unit 6B has been satisfactory. There is a queen bed in the master and two double beds in the second bedroom. Both bathrooms have tubs you must step over to enter, and neither has safety bars to assist in avoiding falling. The bedrooms are identically carpeted, but the master carpeting is very worn and dirty. The unit is not as well equipped with day-to-day necessities as other units we've stayed in at this complex. Minimal number of bowls and cooking utensils. Only one dish towel, but no dish cloths for washing. There was a broom, but no dustpan, mop or bucket. We got a mop from the management company but bought a bucket and dustpan. We also purchased more dish towels and bowls for our use. The Bender-provided bed linens included king-sized sheets and blankets for the queen bed. This sometimes created a tripping hazard, so we purchased queen sized linens and comforter to use during our stay. The microwave oven was broken, but promptly replaced by Bender management. One dining chair leg found broken, but again repaired by Bender. Living room sofa & matching armchairs have seats that sag to the point where it's hard on your flesh. Will see if another unit is available for next year before committing to rebooking 6B.

We regret that the pool painting job has been prolonged, but the weather has been most uncooperative. To have the pool area open while drained would have been a definite safety hazard, and we hope that all will be up and open to our guests by the end of this week! The parking lot job was entirely dependent on the availability of materials and was completed in as efficient a manner as possible. We are glad that we've been able to take care of any issues that have cropped up during your stay, as you'll know during your eight-year tenure as a Sandpiper guest, is our first priority. We look forward to seeing you again next year.
