This 1915 Victorian home in downtown Burlington has been updated to modern standards. The kitchen, bathrooms, plumbing, wiring, heating and air conditioning are all modern additions to make your stay very comfortable.
Our family has called Hungerford Terrace home for more than 60 years and this house is part of adjacent properties we own with several apartment buildings and our management offices. We also have a managing partner living in the adjacent building for your convenience.
Unfortunately local zoning prohibits stays of less than 30 days. It also prohibits us from renting to more than four unrelated adults.
The property features an open floor plan with dining room, living room, den with piano, and a large well equipped kitchen on the first floor. When entering at the back of the building you’ll also find a large mud room and adjacent coat room with half bath.
The second and third floors each have three bedrooms and 3/4 bathrooms. The second floor also has an additional master bath with a large tub for bathing. The three bedrooms on the second floor have queen size beds and two of the bedrooms have access to a large three season porch.
Two of the bedrooms on the third floor have full size beds and the third has a twin bed. There’s also a roll out cot in the closet in the front bedroom. The basement has a laundry room which includes a large counter area with utility sink, washer, and dryer.
We have a burglar alarm system if needed and a modern fire and CO detection system which is continuously monitored. We also have surveillance camera's watching the exterior doorways, parking, etc.
It's a short walk to UVM, the Medical Center, Champlain College, the Church Street Market Place, City Market grocery store, theaters, dozens of restaurants, Burlington's beautiful waterfront, YMCA, Etc. A couple hundred feet away is College Street which has an all day free shuttle service running from the waterfront to UVM (then on to the airport for a small fee).
We have off street parking for many vehicles and a two car garage.
Please no pets and you must be at least 25 years old to book this property. This property is located in a residential neighborhood consisting of several other single family homes. Our neighbors are important to us so we will not permit bachelor or bachelorette parties or any other activities that might disturb the character of the neighborhood.

The stay was great, Lovely clean home, great host, and awesome location. Parking as well. Everything you could need. Very comfortable and neat-walking distance to everything! Would highly recommend!
This is a great place to stay. We stayed for the month of July. Interactions with the owner were very professional and he was very responsive. The property is very well-kept. The kitchen is well stocked with everything you could possibly need for cooking. The location is great for access to Burlington and beyond. Very quiet neighborhood. We hope to stay here again.
My partner, sister and I absolutely loved staying and working remotely here for the month of August. The house was beautiful and spotless with lots of thoughtful, personal touches by the management company. We had a few family members and friends visit throughout our stay and there was still plenty of room to spread out but also lovely communal spaces like the living room, dining room and front porch. The location could not be beat -- very short walking distance to restaurants and shopping on Church Street and the surrounding area, as well as Lake Champlain. In short, we didn't want to leave.
