Amazing location, perfect holiday home for reconnecting with family

Spent quality family time playing scrabble, long walks on the beach, even managing a dip in the middle of winter! I’d imagine it being perfect in summer where the house can be truly opened up. Bathrooms a little chilly in the winter given it is outdoors.

Beautiful location and views, not suitable for everyone

We loved many things about our stay, but some things need to be noted given the premium price: 1. The showers have a hose, you need to hold with your hand, so showing is difficult. With that, one of the showers only produced cold water so for 6 people we were a little confined. I saw many comments years ago about this very issue, shame they haven’t installed shower heads as that’s a cheap fix. 2. The property is near a bush and we did see mice and many creatures running through the kitchen even though we ensured all areas were closed. 3. There are no screens in the main house so you can’t let a breeze through due to mosquitos. It was very hot 4. You can’t actually secure the property. The front gate doesn’t lock so anyone can walk in. We didn’t feel super safe 5. We had young children and the property isn’t really suitable for them due to the rooms being seperate from the house. 6. One of the three rooms didn’t have a mosquito net - we battled them most nights. 7. Freezer is under the house so any ice we had to keep going underneath which was odd. 8. Tv was small compared to space, wasn’t comfortable for six people to watch a movie. The house has the most beautiful views which were breathtaking and nice to come home to. This type of property would definitely could suit some groups who don’t mind basic living. They provided lovely soaps, a coffee machine and all stand up boards and umbrellas which were very useful. I think for the price though, we did expect a bit more :)

Perfect Family Beach Break

Fishcakes is a very special place that went way beyond our expectations of a laid back beach holiday. The design is perfect for families with superb connection to the outdoors. The view is worth sitting back and soaking in for days on end with nature all around. The house is well appointed with everything we needed and Property Manager Julie went to great lengths to ensure our stay was enjoyable with great local information and assistance. We will definitely be back again soon.

Our best holiday

Fishcakes is the most amazing beach house. The views of Boat beach are amazing and the house is incredible. We absolutely loved our stay - so quiet no cars hardly heard the garbage truck. We have booked again next year.

Amazing place to stay in Seal Rocks

4 nights at Fishcakes was a perfect break from Sydney. It's a beautiful house with a lot of unusual and memorable features. Great layout for relaxing, reading, listening to music and occasional trips to the coffee caravan, ocean, bushland and sand dunes. A well laid out and well equipped kitchen made cooking meals a pleasure. Perfect location at the far end of the beach - most definitely one of the best, if not the best, place to stay in Seal Rocks.

Beautiful house in a stunning location.

We absolutely loved staying in fish cakes. The living area was great for socialising with amazing views. The courtyard is situated in the middle of the house and is perfect to hang out if there is an on shore wind. Bathrooms are 'dorm' style and reminded us of the balinese outdoor bathrooms. Overall we had a fabulous experience and would defintiely come again. Thank you!

Best veiw in seal rocks

Had a fantastic stay at fishcakes, loved the 2 massive windows out to the perfect veiw. Beautiful design, nice simple amenities. Pavilion style bedrooms separated out from living were great too.

Absolutely stunning home and location

We really enjoyed our stay at Fish Cakes. The booking and check in was seamless, the house was beautiful, cosy and had a really relaxed feel to it. The location is super convenient and the view is in my opinion the best you can get in NSW, if not Australia.
