Beautiful Private Cottage 3 miles from the Sequoia Park Entrance
Tucked into the lower east side of Salt Creek Canyon sits this beautiful hand-crafted 580 square foot guest house on nine acres. Originally built by owner as a writing and painting studio in the late 1980s, it has an open floor plan with a wood beam ceiling and pine plank flooring. All wood furniture is made by owner. The screened in porch opens onto two wooden decks that over look a series of cascading ponds and Salt Creek farther below. A separate driveway from Salt Creek Road (also known as Craig Ranch Road) with carport provides parking and privacy. Location makes it very easy to get to where you want to go, whether it is to the park, to town or to the end of south fork and lady bug trail. A half mile walk or bike ride further up Salt Creek Road gives you access to BLM (Bureau of Land Management—public lands) and Case Mountain for great hiking and mountain biking trails, as well as, Salt Creek waterfalls. (seasonally winter and spring) It is a park all unto itself.

Great House and Location - Really clean and beautifully decorated and furnished - Well stocked kitchen with everything you could need for preparing meals. Wonderful deck overlooking a series of small descending ponds - super quiet and completely immersed in a wooded environment. Super close to the Sequoia National Park entrance and the Case Mountain Recreation area is a half mile away with some wonderful trails for a leisurely hike. We loved our stay at the Salt Creek Cottage - it couldn't have been more relaxing and comfortable. Highly recommended.
This bucolic Arts and Crafts cottage exceeded all expectations. We were lucky to have 70 degree weather on the evening we arrived and soaked up every bit of light outside on the magical deck. It’s a good thing, because the weather turned rainy and cold. The cottage is impeccably furnished and organized for a luxurious stay. I only wish we had more than two nights.
This cabin is more than fully stocked! Every cabinet, drawer, and shelf was loaded with everyday items! The cabin was very clean and very close to Sequoia NP, the town of Three Rivers, and Case Mountain Recreation Area. The hostess was very quick to respond to my questions and had loads of information in the cabin for recommendations for dining out, local hikes, tips, suggestions, etc. It was a perfectly relaxing and fun stay!
This cottage is one of the most extraordinary places. Tucked into beautiful trees with windows everywhere, you are surrounded by nature. Every detail is just perfect.
What a beautiful cottage! The backdrop of the woods was wonderful. The fishpond is a great addition to the property. Hopefully we will be able to explore the river next time.It had everything we needed for our extended weekend. Hopefully we will be able to come in the spring and enjoy the screened in porch.
Wonderful hosts. Loved sitting in the screened porch putting puzzles together and watching deers, turkeys and quail graze through the yard at all times of the day.
Revisiting Sequoia Ntl. Forest after 30 ish years I stumbled on this lovely rental on VRBO. Our host Martha was very responsive to any inquiries we had. As for the accomodations, where do I begin? The back story of how the owner built this cute cottage as an art studio is impressive. The attention to detail and special little touches in the cottage made for a relaxing and enjoyable stay. The log post detail built into the corner of the screened sunroom was such a perfect touch to bring the outdoors in. You truly can see that the owners wanted the cottage to blend in with nature. We enjoyed the hummingbirds, turkeys, Doves, Quail to name a few. Being lulled to sleep by the sounds of the water trickling through the ponds, frogs singing during late evening was a treat. We took everything in, the creek below the cottage, the proximity to Seqoia Ntl. Forest, hiking up to Case Mountain and exploring the falls, Kaweah Lake not being far from the property was a plus! It was such an enjoyable stay to celebrate my husband's 55th birthday. Thank you Rick & Martha for your hospitality! Our stay by far was one of our favorite stays. You have an amazing cottage We definitely will be back.
Every review already written says it all. Amazing place in every way. Soulful, restorative, gorgeous. Every thing you could think of provided and the setting is so quiet and restful. We would return in a heartbeat.

We highly recommend this cottage. Great location, private, well furnished and stocked, One of the best VRBO we’ve ever stayed at! Love coffee on back porch, lots of different kinds of birds, Koi fish, quail, turkey and deer. Owners are very attentive. Hope to return one day.
Our stay at the cottage was exceptional. The location was perfect, offering easy access to the National Park. Every detail was thoughtfully attended to, making our stay incredibly cozy and comfortable. The private setting provided a peaceful and relaxing retreat. Highly recommend!
My husband and I stayed here for a few days while on our honeymoon. It was such a nice and relaxing stay. Martha was great in communicating with us and made sure we had everything we needed. I highly recommend this cottage!!!
This cottage is so clean and serene. We watched 6 CA quail and listened to numerous birds while relaxing on the screened porch. We also saw a deer in the driveway. This was a perfect location for enjoying the nearby national parks.
