An animal lovers paradise. Many mini animals that are rescues. This cottage in on a pond with a waterfall in a park like setting. The cottage is on a 165 acre farm 6 miles from Sisters and located between hwy 20 and hwy 126. The home has been completely renovated with new appliances windows, floors and bathroom fixtures. The decor has a country/cottage feeling. It is furnished with new furniture and antiques of the area. The bedding and towels are of the highest quality like my other rentals. The pictures now show the completed remodel.
We allow one dog and the size is not an issue. (I do make exceptions just message me) The dog must be on a leash when around the animals or houses but can run free in the forest. They love it there are some good smells on the forest floor. There is dog fee.
The space: The home is approximately 1500 sq. ft.. There are 3 miles of paved trail and 5 miles of single track on the farm. Our tails connect to the Pederson Ridges trail system and there are over 200 miles of maintained mostly single track. Mountain View’s are spectacular. Biking into Sisters is about 7 miles mostly single track.
Guest access: There is an outdoor fire pit and hottub (right off covered porch) in the yard near the waterfall. The Mountain View’s from the Lawn chairs is amazing.
Interaction with guests: I always want my guests to have complete privacy. I will never intrude but I am always available to my guests. I would love to meet you but I would leave all contact up to you.
Other things to note: The home is set up for self checkin. There will not be a key, there is a key pad on the door. I will send a welcome letter with the code.

Thank you Sue. I really enjoyed our visits while I was out tending the little critters. You guys were the perfect guests and certainly hope to see you again.
The cottage was lovely and cozy, and the property and views are simply spectacular.
It was so fun and relaxing to be able to explore trails for miles (or simple short walks) on foot or bike. The property itself is so excellently maintained and with such care; it truly is a gem.
We can’t wait to return.

This property is beautiful and pictures don’t do it justice. Comfortable, great amenities, lots to explore, and best of all quiet. Host was amazing as well. Already planning to book again next year.

You and your sister were a pleasure to host. Thanks for the early morning visit while I was feeding very hungry mini’s. What perfect review.
We wanted someplace dog friendly, close to great hikes and close to everything Sisters and Bend have to offer. We found everything we wanted plus more. The cottage is beautifully appointed and comfortable. The view is spectacular and Bonnie could not be a more gracious host. We plan to come back in September and can't wait.

Thank yo much for the perfect review. I look forward to your return.
I brought my mother here as respite from caring for my father with dementia. She was able to relax and recover. The peaceful setting and lovely property were ideal for that purpose.

This property is above five star. You could not find a more stunning green pasture white fence ranch if you were to travel to Lexington, Kentucky. Sip your coffee on the front porch of the beautiful farm cottage overlooking the lake.
The hostess is so welcoming and friendly. We will return.

Thank you guys so much for such a wonderful review. It is so appreciated.
The house and property were wonderful. We sat for hours on the porch and enjoyed the view of pond. We also walked on roads and paths and saw so many great birds (robins by the hundreds and flocks of nuthatches drinking from a sprinkler head for example). Sisters is close enough that we ate and shopped there late each afternoon, but we cooked breakfast in the rental and ate on the porch. The peace and quiet were rejuvenating. It was such a great Covid escape from Portland. Thanks Bonnie!

What a wonderful review. I really appreciate you taking the time to write.
We knew we had picked a possibly wonderful spot but when we drove to the cabin, we were so impressed. We had no idea that the cabin itself would be so spectacular. It was all and way more than it shows and describes. If you want a quiet spot with town nearby, gorgeous scenery,. and a cabin I would live in forever, this is it. Bonnie was instantly reachable and offered to do something way above the line of duty. I just cannot say enough good things. This is my third VRBO and just - well, I can't think of a strong enough word. You must go here if the criteria suits your trip.

Wow!!! Thank you Linda! That was a perfect review!
We arrived very late at night on our first day at the cottage. Bonnie left the lights on for us, and everything was cozy and inviting after our long drive. Bonnie was available to us 24/7 if we had any questions or concerns, and she was very friendly when my husband talked to her while she tended the miniature horses. The property was beautiful, and very near to the state parks we were interested in visiting for kayaking with the pups.
It was very hot outside, but the cottage remained a comfortable 70 degrees with central air conditioning. The grill was very convenient and the hot tub was hot and very clean. In fact, the entire place was very clean with all the little amenities you could hope for.
The property was beautiful, with serene, lush fields outside large picture windows in every direction. The pond out front was steps from the door, and lovely to look at while sipping coffee on the deck every morning. The animals on the farm had so much personality, and every day we looked forward to the alpacas wandering closer to the fence just outside the living room windows, or up close when we walked the dogs.
Sisters and Bend were very easy to drive to when we wanted groceries, supplies, or a bit of night life. Sisters is a charming, western town and the people there were very friendly to us.
Overall, this is a wonderful property with a friendly and caring host. It was the perfect getaway from the big city for us. I highly recommend this Sisters cottage!
This is our second stay at the house by the pond. We hope to go again. Its proximity to Bend and Sisters makes the location wonderful, but we were equally happy to sit at house and enjoy the birds and rescue animals. Thanks Bonnie!
My husband and I needed the perfect retreat and we found it! We will be back over and over. By far one of the more peaceful and serene places we have stayed. Bonnie was wonderful! What a gift to share this family ranch. Thank you.

The property is stunning and the home was quaint and comfortable. Sitting out in the hot tub enjoying the vast expanse of the property was our favorite part.
Enjoyed relaxing and short walks in the snow. House was very clean and cozy. Enjoyed the tub and the complimentary robes! Had a nice visit with the alpaca, cow, mini horses, and squirrel. Would like to visit again in the spring!

About the host
Hosted by bonnie jacobs halousek
Neal and i were both born and raised in Oregon. I was raised in Lebanon and Neal was raided on a potato farm in Malin. He moved to Central Oregon in 1966 after graduating from Pacific University in Forest Grove. I came to Redmond in 1967. Neal taught physical education and I taught adult education, sewing at night for Central Oregon Community College.
We met and married in 1986 and started Your $10 Stores. He left teaching to work with the stores. We opened 50 stores in two years. 25 were ours and 25 were folks who wanted help to open their own.
We still operate 4 clothing stores in Sisters, Sunriver and Seaside. We have dropped the $10 and the are just names Your Store. Our price today to $6.99 to $24.99.
In 1996 we opened a guest ranch on this property and it was called Rags to Walkers. The big white barn was full of Tennessee Walking horses and Frank White Stables. We were in operation until 2001. We found that running the stores and the guest ranch was more than we could do. So after a long rest, we had used VBRO when we had the guest ranch and decided to reopen a the three locations in Sisters and two in Seaside. So in 2017 we opened the bunkhouse and a private suite in our house in Seaside.
In 2018 we added another private suite with a private entrance in Seaside. This room has an outside deck and a spectacular view of the ocean.
In December 2018 we completed a complete remodel on one of the farmhouses on the property. The farmhouse sleeps four. IN March 2019 another farmhouse, we call the cottage, was completely remodeled right down to the 2x4's.
Both homes have large complete kitchens and amazing mountain views.
We love sharing our farm and like traveling with our dogs so one dog is welcome.
Come visit and enjoy our trails and all the animals that reside here.
Why they chose this property
We purchased this property in stages. The red cedar home we bought unfinished in 1993. the cottage was here, and it sat in the front yard. We moved it to the edge of the pond for my mom and dad. They lived out their lives in this peaceful setting. The property with the big white house and barn was built by us in 1996 completed. The forty acres of forest behind the red cedar house was purchased 2012 and the last piece that is at the end of Farthing Lane and behind the Big white house was purchased in 2015.
This property offers Peace and quiet, Love of animals and wonderful views. Alpacas, Llamas, mini horses, Tennessee Walkers and pet mini and full-size steers.
What makes this property unique
Biking and animals are our passion and this property give us all and more than we expected. The Mountain biking on the property will give you about 5 miles of please and we connect with Petersen Ridge Trail System.
