La Cabanya is a beautiful, charming and luxury villa. It has just been awarded with 5 stars/keys from the Catalan Government (the highest quality award category).
The house is located in the village of Mata, in the heart of the Costa Brava. It's in a quiet, sunny and safe neighbourhood and the neighbours are very warm and friendly.

The house is a walking distance from shops, banks and restaurants and a short drive from Banyoles lake (only 2 km.), 15 km. from Girona city, 25 km. from Girona's Airport, 35 km. from Costa Brava beaches and 115 km. from the Barcelona city.

The house is suitable for a group from 2 up to 6 people. La Cabanya has got two beautiful ensuite bedrooms with mattresses 100% of latex, a full equipped kitchen (dishwasher, refrigerator, toaster, oven, washing-machine, coffe maker, microwave, kettle...), an attic, a spacious living room with satellite television, DVD/Blu-ray and a fireplace, high-speed internet, air-conditioning and central heating.

Outside, there is a private garden with a pergola which is ideal for eating outside all year round, a barbecue, swings and a slide for children, a little wooden house with a kitchen inside for children and a nice private swimming pool with saline treatment and totally automated.

La Cabanya is ideal to spend some days with the couple or with the family.

The climate: The climate of the Pla de l'estany region is the typically Mediterranean one. The proximity with the coast gives a soft temperatures during all the year.

WELLNESS: La Cabanya brings you closer to the senses world through a wide range of relaxing therapies where time will stop and your senses lead you to an exotic world of sensations. All services are offered by a licensed physiotherapist (Sandra Xargay) in the wellness center (next to the house). All products used are 100% natural.

• FAMILIES WITH CHILDREN: We also think of children families and for this reason we have a high chair, baby beds, bed linen for baby beds, beds handrails, safety doors on the stairs, games and toys, fenced swimming-pool, enclosed garden, swings,...

• CYCLING HOLIDAYS: Life looks different when you're sitting on a bicycle: everything takes on the right speed and you become part of a landscape in motion. In La Cabanya there are lots of kilometres of routes and roads ideal for cycling with the family or with friends, in complete safety, so that you can take in every stretch of the region as if yo were re-creating it each time you pedal. You set the speed when you're on your bike and the infinity of proposals available will adapt to it perfectly. Unique spots close to the sea or in the mountains, to find the complicity that comes to those who ride bikes. After the cycling, enjoy a spa treatment in the wellness center (in front of the house).

• HIKING: The leaving point is La Cabanya. All the routes ensure a safe exploration of the region. They have trail markers and are organised in a network of loop trails, and hikers can adapt the route or the stages according to their requirements or level of preparation.

• GOLF: The house is located 9km from Girona Golf. It's an 18-hole, par 72 golf course designed by the English architect F.W. Hawtree, seeded entirely with Penncross, the best quality grass for playing golf. A course that is entirely adapted to its natural surroundings, featuring an advanced sprinkling system using regenerated water from Girona's purification plant, and meeting the most up-to-date environmental standards.

• SHOPPING IN COSTA BRAVA: As you stroll through the romantic historic quarter of Girona, the capital of the province, why not take advantage to do some shopping in the exclusive luxury boutiques and shops that you come across on your way? For this reason, we have received the Ecostars certification for our firm commitment to ecology and have adopted the following measures at La Cabanya:

ENERGY SAVING
- The electrical energy supplied in La Cabanya comes from 100% sources of renewable origin.
- The appliances are with energy use A.
- The lighting both inside and outside are made with light bulbs and / or low consumption.
- All windows and openings of the holiday house are double glazed to ensure good insulation.

RECYCLING
- We encourage the selective selection of trash in the following fractions: glass, paper, plastic and organic matter.
- Outside, we have a recycling corner to store each waste separately.

WATER SAVING
- Shower taps and artichokes have devices for water saving.
- Double discharge toilet cisterns.

SWIMMING-POOL
- The water disinfection system is by a salt chlorinator and this means that no chemicals have to be added to the pool water. In addition, it has positive benefits for sensitive skin.

BUILDING
- La Cabanya is a house with 700 years of history that has been restored respecting the original materials of the house and improving the insulation of the roof and windows to achieve passive energy savings.

SOCIAL POLICY
- We firmly believe in the local products, this is the reason we always try to buy our products from the local shops.
- We contribute financially to our village main fest ''Gales de Mata'' which is one of the oldest (more than 100 years) major festivals in Pla de l'Estany region and it's celebrated at the end of August.
