This is lovely physical space, brightly lit, quiet, private. The kitchen is really well equipped. It's close to Wakefield, Gatineau Park and an easy drive to Gatineau/Ottawa. We had a great week there.
Spent two nights at this location and enjoyed the serenity of the countryside greatly. Property is in excellent condition and very clean. Great views to the exterior from the living area with lots of glass.
It's a stunning chalet with everything you need. Surrounded by nature and tranquility. We relaxed, played games, enjoyed sitting by the fire. So needed the R & R. Nicolas was an amazing host and was quick to respond. Will definitely stay again!!
We stayed at Nicolas' place for 5 days in October and had a thoroughly enjoyable experience. The property was very clean, comfortable and well equipped. We really enjoyed using the wood stove heater, watching the wildlife outside our large living room windows, using the barbecue, chilling with board games & puzzles, and generally relaxing. Highly recommended :) Thanks Nicolas!
We stayed for 2 night. For weekend gateway or any other special occasion gateway this is one those best place to stay. Owner thought well, kept almost day to day essentials in the kitchen or bathroom or bedroom. Very close to Wakefield. Highly recommended
The rental was beautiful, comfortable, well appointed. I've stayed in many VRBOs over the years - this was the best. Suited our needs for relaxing, enjoying the birds, making good meals. Very clean. Comfortable beds. Really enjoyed the fireplace. As described - you need to drive to get places - remote (which is what we were looking for). Two of us stayed here (each had our own room). Would be comfortable for 4 as well.
This place was amazing. We had an amazing experience, feeling like we were in the heart of nature. It was really great to see different wildlife, I'd say a treat for bird watchers, we saw chipmunks, squirrels and even a deer in the morning, just few feet away. Another highlight was the fireflies.
Place was super clean and Nicholas is a great host
Great response timing, and very accommodating and considerate. Loved that they had condiments to compliment cooking/grilling.
Wish we had more time. Recommend this place and will definitely visit again.
Amazing place to access Gatineau's XC ski trails...we'll be back!
It's a amazing 270 degree view from the living room (all windows) that allows the sun to shine in and see all around. Both meditative and enlivening. We loved it! (Deer came up to the window...that was lovely).
And how we loved the wood stove for heat during the day and for the flickering flame at night.
All the comforts one needs.
The owner was great and responded immediately when we had a few questions.
Very highly recommend this place.
We rented this cabin for my birthday getaway. The cabin is located in an area 15 minutes away from a small city, about 25 minutes from Nordik Chelsea, 40 minutes from downtown Ottawa. In our short two days at the cabin we saw so much wildlife including a visiting deer who stayed for quite some time. Beautiful, modern and yet cozy cabin. AC/Fans provided work great. Only negative is that there was no television, which isn’t the end of the world but just wish we were better prepared.
My partner and I were looking to unplug from the world after a crazy work week and Nicolas home was absolutely stunning and unbelievably amazingly sexy!
No tvs. No technology distractions.
Just nature in and out!
Beautiful scenery is accompanied by a luxurious simple interior!
Fireplace was such a wonderful way to enjoy the evening under the stars!
We are already looking forward to another stay in the future!
Nicolas is an amazing host!
This is a small but very functional and beautiful place to be immersed in nature while protected from the elements. I could star gaze and bird watch while sitting in the living room.
Descriptions and photos are representative. Very private, clean and organised. All basics are supplied: soaps, toilet paper, huile and some spices. Nice BBQ, outdoor dinning table, adirondak chairs, and nice fire pit. It says access to water, but it some ways away and not great access to Gatineau River with some current. So, I do not recommend renting for water access, great on all the other fronts.
Property was clean, beds comfortable, bathroom excellent with good water pressure and temperature and plenty of towels. Excellent and timely communication from the owner. Re: furnishings, the property has the air of a rental (no rug in living room, no closet in bedroom), but is as advertised on the website. Fireplace was very nice to have but hard to clean (ashes built up fast as the chamber was small). It was a very cold night and the living room/kitchen area with 360 windows got very cold by the morning. If you have a small child, be aware that there's a sharp drop down the stairs to the basement as soon as you enter the property. Overall an enjoyable winter stay.
We had a fantastic stay at the cottage. My friend and I rented this place for four days in January. This place was above our expectations. The entire house was clean and warm, with comfortable and contemporary furniture and amenities. I was pleasantly surprised by the good quality lavender shampoo, soap, and conditioner, in the bathroom. The owner, Nicholas, had thought of every little thing to make your stay comfortable and memorable. We had all the possible kitchen essentials we could think of: kitchen towels, measuring spoons and cups for baking, even ziploc bags and clean plastic wrap. We loved the subtle smell of wood in the dining room coming from the fireplace and could not get enough of that spectacular view of the snowcapped mountains and trees opened up through the glass walls. We listened to jazz, cooked, and went hiking and snowshoeing. The WiFi internet was fast. We did not have any issues watching Netflix movies on the laptop. We spent one day of wellness at the outdoorsy Nordic Spa - Nature near Gatineau Park in Chelsea. We relaxed, admired the 360 degree view of a beautiful landscape, and enjoyed locally sourced food at the spa restaurant. We will definitely rent this cottage again sometime in the fall or summer.
Relaxing, natural setting, near Wakefield, Gatineau Park.
Comfortable house with a wrap-around deck, surrounded by trees in a quiet neighbourhood. Bluejays, nuthatches, chickadees, etc. constant visitors at the bird feeder. Cozy living area with fireplace makes for a relaxing evening. Plenty of hot water, fast internet. Everything you'd need in the kitchen. The perfect getaway.
Unfortunately the weather wasn’t on our side to fully enjoy this beautiful property but we made the best of it! We cooked one of the nights and the kitchen had everything and beyond what we needed. The property was spotless and could tell it’s very well maintained. Would recommend to 10/10!!
Perfect getaway in nature after a busy time. The property is everything as advertised plus more. The binoculars and the excellent bird guide was much appreciated. The cottage is well suited for short and long term stays - the kitchen is well equipped for cooking meals. We did not only enjoy the privacy of the property but also trail/road runs and our swims in the river!
Idyllic and stylish. A perfect getaway surrounded by nature.
We flew in from Boston and the property did not disappoint! It is beautiful. All the creature comforts of home, in an idyllic location. The noise of nature - birds and crickets, was amazing. We sat out at the fire pit until late chatting and taking it all in. A wonderful retreat from city life. Great hosts. Very private. Five star. Thank you.
