Huge home with amazing lakefront view. The large deck and hot tub was wonderful with the chilly weather we had. The proximity and private dock made easy access to the water.
Very comfortable. All amenities as stated. We enjoyed access to the lake, swimming, relaxing. There were plenty of things to do nearby. Especially enjoyed hiking at Shadow Falls. We would absolutely stay again!
The house is very nice and the location is great. We brought our small fishing boat and was able to dock it there at the house. The dock is very nice. We have no complaints really but will point out that something is going on with the lights. A lot of them are flickering and although there are many lamps in the home, the place still seems dark. The kitchen is in the basement, which is a little different for us but all in all the place was very nice and was very clean which is a big thing for us.
A great location on Deep Creek with a great outdoor space and easy access to the dock. Check in was easy, the place comfortably fit our group and there is plenty of parking.
We truly enjoyed our 4 day stay during the beautiful Fall season. Our weather was fantastic and we loved sitting by the lake and using the fire pit and hot tub! We hiked New Germany State Park, Big Run State Park, Herrington Manor State Park as well as Deep Creek State Park. We enjoyed it all!!
Wispering Pines was a quaint and peaceful place to stay. While the walk down to the docks contained a lot of stairs, the lakefront location was perfect for our family’s needs. Kids enjoyed swimming off the dock and the hot tub. Adults enjoyed the separate sitting rooms and plentiful spaces for relaxation. Secondary rooms were small and became hot with doors closed but they did the trick. We enjoyed the books and games provided. Overall a very nice house!
We visited for just a few days and this place met all of our needs. The lakefront property was beautiful. We celebrated 4th of July on the water and were able to dock our boat right at the house making water sports an ease. The house was in great condition and dog friendly. We loved using the hot tub and having an evening fire lakefront. The beds were comfy and the house was decorated to please the eye! No major issues and we would return again.
This property was as listed and as stated in other reviews be prepared to stub your toes from time to time as the floor level changes a number of times by half an inch to 1 inch & these little “steps” blend in with the floor. The views of the lake are spectacular and it’s in a very quiet part of the area. Really well equipped with one exception, we couldn’t find a can opener to save our soul. All in all we had a lovely time and would not hesitate to rent it again
Wonderful time with friends and family . The house was just as described-rustic, older, the bedrooms are small except for the master- but we didn’t go there to sleep - so it got 5 stars. If you want a high end fancy home, then go pay the price for that. The house was more than adequate for a very reasonable price. Waterfront, in a quiet neighborhood , delightful deck/ hot tub/ view. The homeowner was very attentive, responded quickly, and took care of everything we needed.
We have perfect weather, an amazing lake side view and access, and a great place to stay!
My only concern involved the level changes between rooms. It was a bit challenging for my parents to navigate due to health concerns. They only had one fall though, and just hurt pride, so for that we are thankful for! The stairs down near the lake could use some work too. Again, for most people it would not be a problem but for those with mobility issues it was a bit difficult. Overall, we lived the home though!

Beautiful views, responsive host but in need of renovations
There are many positives about the property: the location is beautiful and views gorgeous from the house, the host is very responsive and the second level of the property is nice.
The house is really a tale of two homes--the main floor and entrance (bedrooms, bathrooms, and rec room) are nice and in good shape. The main bedroom bed was very comfortable but the lower level/living area with kitchen, dining area and living area needs alot of TLC. A deep clean at a minimum is needed. The kitchen is old and the cabinets inside and out are stained from years of use. There is nothing extra in the property so you literally have to bring every single thing you need.
Potential renters should also be aware that the house is located at the bottom of steep declining driveway. In the winter, this is a huge concern. Even with my 4 wheel drive vehicle it was very difficult and dangerous to come and go. Our car slid back multiple times trying to drive up with the snow and ice. Most of the other properties nearby have created parking pads at the top of the hill/entrance to their properties to address this issue.
The property has a lot of potential but needs some investment and a few additional touches to make this a great rental.
We had a lovely stay. The house was very clean, and as described in the listing. We enjoyed being right on the water and being close to so many great hiking trails.
Nice , 4 bedroom house right on the lake. Washer/dryer was good. Fireplace was nice on cold days. Full kitchen was supplied with all needed utensils. Beds were not as comfortable as we would have liked. Different floor levels were a little cumbersome to get used to. Overall a nice, comfortable stay!
Right on the lake, comfortable and relatively clean.
We stayed at this property during Labor day week-end. The house was as it looked on the pictures, except that two of the 4 bedrooms do not have windows, which I don't think comply with fire safety laws. We asked the kids to keep their door open at night since it was their only escape way in case of fire. The kitchen had plenty of dishes and utensils. The house was a bit dated but homey. It looked clean at first glance, but there was lots of dust under the furniture and sofas (as often seen in vacation rentals). We liked the hot-tub (clean) and the immediate access to the lake. Overall, we had a good experience and would return.
We had a very nice Thanksgiving weekend. The house was perfect for our family. Beautiful view, close to stores and restaurants and we really enjoyed the hot tub.

Shawn and I grew up nearby and have always dreamed of owning a place of our own at Deep Creek Lake. We currently live in North Carolina but love our frequent trips back to the Lake! Hope you enjoy it as well. This is a great place to "hide away" and to do business. Also, you can find Shawn's favorite past-time on Etsy. We love to travel the world for business and pleasure. Enjoy our home!
