About this property

Scenic and private and quiet hideaway with EV charger

The Nest is a private resting spot for outdoor loving people from all walks of life. The walls are covered with maps and caving art and photographs. The decor is retro and comfortable.
The Nest is located next to an archaic spring/meditation spot. The deck is great for yoga and having friends over.
The Nest is near Cloudland Canyon State Park with miles of scenic hiking, Johnson's Crook caving area, Hang Gliding launch site and miles or rock climbing. Several restaurants are nearby.

The space

The Nest is quiet and private. The Old Indian Spring is a spiritual site you will feel immediately. The house is completely shaded with large oak trees in summer making AC unnecessary but available. The Nest faces a mountain stream with rhododendron, mountain laurel, holley, and Hemlock.
The bedroom has a continuous room filter with hepa and charcoal filters. Your rooms are cleaned and sanitized after every visit. The rooms are thoroughly smudged with white sage. Linens are washed with chlorine bleach. Sanitizer with bleach is used in the bathroom, food preparation area, door knobs and light switches.

Guest access

You have two rooms plus bathroom with private entrance, plus access to the open as well as screened in deck.

Mixed feelings, but overall good
It didnt occur to me that this would be a shared home that we occupied one end of, but it was good overall. Little warm for our liking, had tv issues, but the shower would take the spots off a leopard while the toilet flush had you thinking a plunger might be necessary. The mentioned creek wasnt running, but it was still a beautiful area near everything we wanted. Road is gravel on the rougher side, but not too bad. Not much of a freezer in the mini fridge and the main bed was fairly firm while the day bed was a great nap spot. Overall a great, quiet, and peaceful trip. Checkout Cafe 136 right down the road for awesome homemade food.

Great location for hikers
The property was clean, serene and just as presented. It's within a mile or so of Cloudland Canyon State Park. It has all your basic essentials. We visited Chattanooga as well. Getting to watch the hang gliders was a real treat. We will stay here again.

I'll describe this property as "jumbled"...
This property, while in a great area, wasn't really great as I considered it too "jumbled" due to Jim having too much stuff lying around. The kitchen had only a 15 amp breaker servicing a microwave, coffee pot, convection oven, and hot plate. We were concerned that we'd trip an electrical breaker with using too many appliances, therefore did not cook very much. We left after one day, going to a pet friendly hotel in Chattanooga.

Unreal
Do not stay here. Do not attempt to stay here. When I arrived at 11pm, I followed the directions, walked across the front, and tried to enter the rental. I tried the code several times, but it would not open. Jim messaged and asked if I got in ok. I responded within two minutes and told him I could not get in. I waited alone, in the very dark driveway on a mountain top for a while, but received no response. I went to a hotel at 1130pm. Jim responded over an hour later, after I was checked into the hotel. During the sort, Jim told VRBO he tried to help me and it was resolved. This is untrue. Jim accused me of not following directions, trying to enter the wrong door, and of using the wrong code. I sent him an image of the correct code I entered on the lockbox. I described the place. I asked for a refund. Jim refused to refund my money. He charged me a cleaning fee, a dog fee, and two nights fee, but I did not stay at the property. I could not get in! He then sent me pics of the open box and stated I entered the wrong code. Again, I sent images of the check-in code and the same code on the lockbox, but he continued to accuse me of using the wrong code. Jim finally refunded the cleaning fee, but still charged me for the dog who never set foot in the place. I never set foot in the place either, but he charged me $150+/-. The code did not work for the lockbox. It was 11pm on a very dark mountian in rural GA. What was I supposed to do? Sleep in the driveway? I could not get in. Jim is sorry for my troubles, but kept my money. The place is also a trailer. Buyer beware.
