This 2-Bedroom + Loft condo is perfect for 3 couples, and has an attractive combination of location, quality, and affordability. This Ore House Plaza condo provides you with quick and easy access to the ski resort, the Yampa River, the Core Trail, shopping and dining. With views of the mountain ski trails and weekly fireworks out the window, but only a few stops away by free local bus, one enjoys the essence of visiting Steamboat: both mountain and town. Once in this condo you'll enjoy the quality throughout: granite and travertine tile, leather furniture, hardwood floors, beautiful cabinetry and trim. The spacious bedrooms all have their own dedicated full bathroom with heat lights. There is also a full kitchen, comfy living space with large screen TV and a deck to enjoy views. The prices of this condo are affordable enough to make this a spacious option for smaller families or a very attractive cost per person for a group of 2 or 3 couples. Please read on for more detailed information.
Many repeat visitors to Steamboat Springs have discovered what a gem this location is. Supermarkets and shopping amenities are a short walk away, as well as several restaurants. Without even crossing a street, you can visit the delicious Ore House restaurant or the local's favorite store, Ski Haus, which has ski, snowboard, and bike rentals, as well as pretty much any other outdoor gear you could want or need. Also, the Yampa River, the Yampa River Core Trail and Fetcher Park are an easy walk from this condo. The Core Trail is a gentle winding paved path along the river that leads past the Botanic park, Emerald Park, and into downtown, just a couple miles away. There is so much you can do right from your door here, but guests who stay will also really love the location for its convenience to both the ski area and downtown The free city bus has 4 stops that serve this development, and with the very direct routes, you'll get where you're headed in no time! Being tucked into a quiet corner right in in between the two centers of activity has its benefits!
This condo has a nice open layout. The kitchen, living room, and dining area are one big space, allowing your group to enjoy each other's company. The living and dining room have vaulted ceilings, which help the place feel more spacious. This condo is also a corner unit, which adds natural light to the space.
The kitchen features granite counters and stainless-steel appliances. It is fully equipped with everything you need to prepare coffee in the morning and delicious meals by night. There is plenty of counter space and a double basin sink along with a raised bar that makes it easy to serve up breakfast or après ski treats. The kitchen bar seats 4, great for keeping your chef company while enjoying a glass of wine. The dining table seats 6 and is also ideal for cards or games. Next to the dining table is a large sliding glass door which frames views of the ski area and provides access to the covered balcony. Back inside, the living room provides comfy leather furniture to relax on as well as a beautiful river rock gas fireplace. Flip the switch and enjoy the warm ambiance. Of course, there is also a large screen HDTV and DVD player for you to enjoy.
Bedrooms 1 and 2 are both on the main level and are on opposite sides of the living room for separation and privacy. The first bedroom with a Queen size bed features its own ensuite bathroom, a walk-in closet, vaulted ceilings, a reading chair, and ski area views. The second, slightly larger bedroom has a big beautiful King size bed, a dresser, double closets, and views of the ski area. The bathroom adjoining this bedroom is a little larger than the one in the master, with a bit more counter space. The third bedroom is a loft space, and has another King size bed. It is upstairs from and overlooks the living room. The owners of this lovely condo have thoughtfully added a tri-fold screen for visual privacy, but if no one is sleeping in the living room below, you might choose to slide the screen aside and wake up to ski area views through the 2nd story windows. The adjoining upper bathroom features good counter space, and its own travertine tile and full tub/shower.
This condo is on the top floor. This means you will have to go up two flights of stairs to enter. However, this top floor condo is also what gives you the vaulted ceilings and the great views of the ski area. Also, you can rest assured that you won't have any loud neighbors stomping around above you, because there will be no one above you at all. Ski season visitors, don't worry, you won't have to haul skis or boards up and down the stairs. In fact, you won't even have to bring them home at all. If you're renting equipment, that comes with free storage at your rental shop. So just imagine a short walk to the free bus, in regular shoes, not ski boots, and no equipment to carry. The short ride of about 5 minutes will bring you to Gondola Square. In ski season, the buses come by every 10 minutes, no need to check the schedule, just go when you're ready. For anyone bringing their own equipment, a small fee may be paid to store your gear right at the Gondola.
The condo development has 2 hot tubs for you to enjoy just a short stroll down the walk in an outdoor pergola that is covered from rain or snowfall. This freestanding building is less than 50 yards from your condo building and the facility does include both a restroom and a changing room for your convenience if desired. It's a great amenity to have at your disposal after a long day of adventures in and around this special and picturesque community. Spent Spring Break in Steamboat and loved it! Condo was clean and comfy. Easy 5 minute walk to a ski shop, a grocery store and the free city bus which takes you to the base of the mountain. Hot tubs were nice and not too crowded. Would definitely stay here again.

We appreciate this wonderful review, but would like to clarify that Mountain Resorts is the HOA management company; they do not manage the condo itself or the rentals for the condo.
A few friends met to ski and enjoyed the quiet, clean property that was well stocked for meals. It has a great view of the mountain and a short walk to grocery stores and the bus stop.

The unit supplied all of our needs and was convenient for all Steamboat has to offer. We especially liked the close proximity of the bagel shop and local grocery store and Walmart which are within a 5-minute walk.

My family really loved this location. Kitchen was great to cook in. We cooked breakfast every morning and dinner a couple times. There were 4 of us. It was great to spread out and have some privacy.

Other than the floors not being cleaned and no dishwasher soap, it was a really great place. Very roomy and beds were very comfortable. It was nice to have the washer and dryer because we couldn't pack a lot riding motorcycles. It was very competitively priced.

We love the very convenient location and how it is set back off the road , has lots a trees and nice landscaping . The condo was equipped with everything we needed. We would stay there again for sure.( If there were any suggestions it would just be better lighting in the bathroom as it was very hard to apply make up …and a full length mirror would be also be helpful👌😎👍

This cozy, well-stocked condo is absolutely perfectly located for a Steamboat ski vacation. If you enjoy a good walk, it is within walking distance to town and only a few minutes by car to the ski hills. Grocery, liquor, and department stores are all close as well, if you need to stock up. The condo was a lovely place to come home to after a day of skiing, hiking, or shopping. We would easily consider staying here again. Seamless check-in and check out. Thank you!
Our trip to Steamboat was such a winter wonderland. We came at a time with plenty of snow and a great place to stay. We thoroughly enjoyed our accommodations. It was comfortable, cozy and extremely accessible to public transportation to both the ski resort and down town. The view from our balcony was spectacular. The snow removal team did an excellent job of keeping up with the snow both on the side walks and parking lot. We had an amazing time and plan to visit again in the winter and summer time.

Great place and location. Only thing one small complaint. Need more than one TV for when you have a big group(6)of us. Only 4 of us could sit comfortable in living room to watch a movie. Other than that it was awesome. Thank you

We had an awesome long weekend as a family at this property. It was everything we needed and a good price. We do with the 3rd bedroom wasnt just a loft, but it worked for the short time we were there. We also did not love being interrogated about our ages, they do not rent to anyone under 30 but also did not want anyone under 30 even staying there. We did convince them to let us since it was two people in there 60s, and their kids in their late twenties, but felt a little silly we had to even convince them to let us stay there. Overall, a nice property for what it was.

A Challenging Experience - Will Not Book Again
As a group that has stayed at numerous VRBO rentals, our experience with the property management group, Mountain Vacation Lodging of Steamboat (MVL), was a true disappointment. Despite the great location, from the initial booking experience, the communication leading up to our check-in and the condition of the property, much was frustrating, and disappointing.
The property itself served our needs - three bedrooms and three full bathrooms. The location is ideally located close to the base of the Steamboat ski resort and the Meadows parking lot.
When we arrived the dishes in the dishwasher were dirty and they left us with no paper towels or sponges. The overall state of the property looks a bit tired (clogged bathroom sinks, smoke alarms arbitrarily going off, broken and chipped dishware, minimal kitchen supplies, etc.). We had an ongoing issue with the property that we attempted to address with MVL upon our departure and they completely dismissed our concerns. I believe the main issues lie at the feet of MVL but we won't be back.

We pride ourselves on providing an excellent overall guest experience, and we are always looking for ways to improve.
Although it's noted in the description that we will be calling, this guest was upset that we contacted her to confirm details for her booking. To clarify, part of the reason we call is to help answer any questions guests may have.
Much of what was said during the confirmation process became misconstrued by the guest, such as when we confirmed there were 6 adults and no children, it was assumed we didn't allow children, which further upset the guest.
The guest refused to speak with us over the phone, but was highly communicative via VRBO messages and emails prior to her arrival; we were quick to respond to all queries.
During the guest's actual stay, however, we didn't hear from them at all other than to request a late departure time. When the guest departed, a refund was requested for minor issues; because they weren't reported to us during the guest's stay and we were not afforded an opportunity to verify or correct the issues, we weren't able to offer a refund. We provide all guests with multiple ways to contact us during their stay, including a 24/7 guest services number; there is no reason we shouldn't have been contacted about these issues during the stay.
We have looked into the issues that were reported and found that they were either easily resolved or unfounded. We encourage future guests to read through other guest reviews to see that most people were very happy with the property itself and had a great experience. Several guests specifically mention how well the property, including the kitchen, were stocked.
Our company is listed as a Premier Host by VRBO, which is a good indication of the service we provide to guests.
This property is located in between the mountain & downtown. Close to grocery stores & bus lines. It was a perfect fit for our family of 4: 3 bedrooms, 3 full bathrooms. A very short walk to the hot tubs. If you plan to ski, I recommend Powder Pursuits. They're located right in the Gondola Transit Center & hold your equipment for your overnight so that you don't have to shlep it on the bus.
About a 3 minute drive to Steamboat Ski Resort. Great location. We had the wonderful hot-tubs to our selves. Comfortable beds, lovely view from balcony, no complaints :)
