A wonderful place to stay!

This was one of the best places we've stayed, and is even better than it seems in the photos. Everything in the house is well thought out and in a great location. The location is very quiet and peaceful and the view from the balcony is stunning, a great spot to watch the sunrise. We also enjoyed lots of great nearby spots to walk and nature, and some good local eateries. Hopefully we'll be back!

Lovely property, extremely comfortable and well appointed. Great kitchen and outdoor BBQ area and a big deck looking over pastureland towards the coast. The owners Bel and Brian very accommodating, responsive and helpful. Recommend.

We really enjoyed staying at The Sanctuary! It's peaceful, has beautiful views overlooking the valley, and has no traffic noise whatsoever, which is important to us. The house is thoughtfully designed, and just a bit on the quirky side, which made it interesting. The kitchen is super well equipped, and great for making your own meals if that's your thing. On the downside, we did find that we couldn't turn the fans on due to them being caked with dust, and that was an issue for us, due to some of us having dust allergies. Overall, the house was a bit dustier than we'd like, but we do have high standards, so maybe for most people, it's quite ok.We were also wishing that the whole house had air conditioning, as it was pretty warm while we were there, and the only air cond is in the dining area. The 3rd bedroom has flyscreens, but they had some holes that lets bugs in, and no one likes critters. Overall, we enjoyed the space, and had a great time! Belinda was also a great host and an excellent communicator!

Milton bolthole

Wonderful views over the farmland. Lots of birds weaving in and out of the trees in front of the property. Great kitchen with a wonderfully stocked pantry. Clever outdoor, but covered, BBQ area. Master bedroom quiet and spacious. We loved the shower and big bath! Our ten year old thought the retro table top video game was magic. Watching the ashes on the huge screen topped off our mini summer break. Thank you

Beautiful house, great location & fantastic view

The house has a fantastic living area, kitchen and outdoor entertaining space. The views are magnificent from the outdoor deck and living area. The fireplace was cosy, thanks for the supply of chopped wood, and a welcome relief over the unseasonably cold weekend. Great BBQ and cooking facilities that made home cooking a pleasure. We had a fabulous catchup with friends and enjoyed the living space. The main bedroom was very comfortable with a spectacular ensuite (but no blinds). The other bedrooms were not so spacious and had lightweight slatted beds that were uncomfortable. The third bedroom had complicated sliding walls rather than a door that made access and privacy an issue. The location was fabulous: only a short walk from town and a great area to explore. The owners were a delight to deal with and provided information as required. I would highly recommend this property.

How cosy is the fireplace, sounds like you settled right in! The main bedroom does have block out blinds, maybe you missed these? And thank you for the feedback on the beds, we have never had this feedback and spent a lot of money so I am surprised, however we will look at some different options here.
