About this property

Time to get away and relax in the Pine Creek Valley - fishing, hiking, biking!

Our cabin is one bedroom and very comfortable for two or three guests. It is perfect for a romantic getaway or a young family with a child. There is a large fireplace ring with wood available for purchase on site. Sitting on .43 acre, there is a lot of outdoor area to enjoy. An outdoor grill is provided for use. Inside, the cabin is stocked with everything our guests will need to feel at home and comfortable. Our kitchen includes a refrigerator, range, microwave, coffee pot, utensils, dishes, and pots and pans to cook.

Cute getaway in Gaines

Great tiny house in Gaines. Very clean and cozy in a lovely setting at the base of mountains. We had a great time and enjoyed everything, especially the fire pit. Would definitely recommend and stay again!

We love the cozy home and property! The fire pit was so relaxing! It felt private and secluded even though there were other dwellings nearby. The home was decorated beautifully and it felt like home and they had anything we would want. We loved it!

Great Property

Sweet Spot is clean and comfortable with a well-equipped kitchen. We enjoyed the huge firepit with lots of precut firewood. Excellent communication from the property owner.

Wonderful Relaxation in the Woods!

Our little house on a camp road was much cuter and cozier than I imagined! It had everything we needed for a comfortable stay. It is about 20 minutes from Wellsboro, which was a good place to buy groceries and browse the shops. We will be back!

Lovely place

Great place, very well cared for and immaculate! Had everything we needed in terms of supplies, and well-located for us. Mostly we spent the long weekend exploring the area: hiking through blooming mountain laurel, night skies at Cherry Springs Park, walking around Wellsboro, etc. Next time we'll do the rail trail. Thanks!!

Anniversary Get Away

Pine Creek Cabin was perfect for our 20th Anniversary. The cabin was impeccably clean and very cozy for two people. Everything you would need was in the cabin. All we had to do was show up with clothing. Shelly and Lyle were quick to respond and helpful with places to eat. In addition, the cabin was close to everything we wanted to do. We had a great time biking the Pine Creek Trail, visiting Wellsboro, and the two state parks. I would highly recommend that quaint cabin to all couples.

The best!

I cannot find one thing I would need or ask to be changed about this cabin. Unless of coarse it could be picked up and placed on the river! 😉 Shelly was the best for answering questions or concerns. A very clean and comfortable place with attention to detail. Can’t wait to return next year! Thank you Shelly for making our vacation a relaxing and enjoyable stay.

The owners were the ones who clean and prepare betwen guests, while many such rentals are operated by a third party contracted by the owner. While neither way is wrong, the fact that Shelly and Lyle manage their own property says alot about the care and affection they feel for the place - and it showed! It felt like being a guest in somebody's home rather than just a rental property. Thought and care went into every decision. Very nice place, lovely setting. Considering renting again in the fall.

Weekend Getaway

This is our second time staying at sweet spot. This time we visited in the fall rather than the summer and it was just as nice as the first time. Everything is clean and everything in the description is there. We had a washout on Saturday so we visited some local bars and restaurants. The locals and other visitors are very friendly and great food for fair prices. We spent late afternoon and evening just at the cabin relaxing by the gas stove and listening to the rain and watching tv. If you like tv just wanted to say channels are very limited and it is not a smart tv. Would highly recommend this cabin and we are already looking forward to a 3rd visit!!

Nice getaway

We enjoyed our stay. The property was clean and quite. Seemed like camps near by. The cabin had everything we needed. The bed was semi firm and comfy. So comfy my gf forget to get the brand of it. Prompt communication with the hosts. We had an incident with an unknown yellow jacket nest. It was gone before we woke up the next morning. The water pressure is okay in the shower. There is a garage with everything you could need for outside. The fire pit is nice, just one block too high though. ATT has service but Verizon doesn't. The screen door slams. It reminded me of camp as a child Very quaint. I would recommend if you're a couple looking to explore the mountains for a few days. We would stay at it again if we ever go back.

Pretty cozy, pretty clean. No coffee was provided, and only minimal toilet paper, so we had to run to the store for those things. But overall a very cute and relaxing place to stay!

This cabin is awesome for a couple or 3 ppl! Clean, perfectly decorated, comfortable, across from Pine Creek and down the road from the Ole Covered Wagon tour and east and west rims of the Grand Canyon of Pa. We took macadam roads and dirt roads while in our search for new places and of course “big foot!!!” Relaxing and fun. Host,Shelly very responsive and pleasant, making booking check in and out a breeze! Thanks Shelly! Looking forward to booking next year again!

We are Lyle and Shelly Wattles. We live near the camp and purchased the property to enjoy ourselves as well as rent to vacationers who love the area as much as we do. Shelly owns a real estate company in Galeton, Pine Creek Real Estate. We love all of the outdoor activities that the Pine Creek Valley has to offer. We hope to make your stay as enjoyable and comfortable as possible.

Why they chose this property

With almost one half an acre, you can enjoy the mountain views and relaxing atmosphere in side or out all year long. The full ring fire pit is available for a summertime campfire. Only a few minutes to fine dining and kayak/canoe rentals. Although we are not right on Pine Creek, it's views are right across the road.

What makes this property unique

Enjoy the peace and quiet that Sweet Spot has to offer. Take an early morning stroll on Lick Run Road right along Pine Creek. Lick Run Road is open to ATV's. There are maps at the cabin which show the trails where you can start right at the cabin and ride. We offer a cozy country cabin with wood floors and knotty pine open ceiling. The cabin is fully stocked with all of the cookware and utensils that you will need for a few night's stay.
