This Amsterdam Penthouse apartment is huge. Three bedrooms, high ceilings, large balcony and lots more. Location is so central its hard to beat. just three minutes from Amsterdam's Red-light district.

This spacious three bedroom apartment is one of seven in the same building located at Nieuwmarkt Square. The penthouse apartment, which features beamed ceilings and a roomy balcony, can comfortably sleep six guests in six single beds.

Fantastic place to stay with excellent service from Mario and his staff. Group of 5 women celebrating our 50th birthdays. Apartment was clean and roomy, beds were comfortable, bathroom includes a shower and nice size tub with a separate toilet room. There are several stairs but the hosts deliver your luggage to make it super easy for guests. We enjoyed the patio day and night. Adjacent to the red light district but always felt safe and the area had several restaurants, cafes and a grocery store within 1 block. Easy walk to Centraal station, Dam Square and Anne Frank House. We would absolutely stay here again when in Amsterdam. Thank you Mario!

Wonderful area and wonderful host

Mario checked us in and was a great help throughout our stay. He was friendly and attentive and went above and beyond to make our stay enjoyable. We stayed in two different units and both were great. The top floor with the balcony overlooking the clocktower was our favourite. We'll be back next year!

I felt like I knew them from long time and I was also excited for their vacation in Amsterdam. So easy to communicate with and they respected the place. Mario is the best

Definitely set up for family. Have to go through one room to get to one of the other rooms. Perfect for the kids. In Holland 1.5 bathrooms is one room with shower and sink. .5 is toilet and sink. Not like USA 1.5 bathrooms. Mario is so accommodating. He’s a great host. Fully enjoyed our time here. Anything we needed was easy to access.

Great place

We traveled with a group of 6 girls and this couldn’t have been more perfect. We were in a great location, the space worked fabulous for us and the service was great. Mario was super friendly. He mapped out some stuff for us to do (he even carried all of our bags up to the top floor for us) and greeted the last girl of our group to arrive since she flew separately. Couldn’t have been a better trip for our first time to Amsterdam. Highly recommend.

Best penthouse apartment in Amsterdam

This modern spacious apartment had everything we needed for a wonderful stay in Amsterdam-Centrum. Even the the ground coffee was exquisite. The management is top-notch and treated us like family. We will make this our home-away-from-home every time we visit Amsterdam. We even plan on using it as our home base to visit other European cities on the high-speed train. Our stay at The Monk Hotel was an integral part of a truly wonderful and memorable vacation. Danke

I am not certain if I fully understoord from listing the amount of stairs; however, Mario was great. They portered luggage, provided ground transportation support, did our laundry (wash only, not dry), and other support. Location was 1-2 mins from Metro.

QUIETLY IN THE CENTRE OF AMSTERDAM

This property was very central and very close to the Waag building at Nuieuwmrkt square. It's very busy and vibrant around with lots of local cafes etc. But once you step inside this property it was all quiet and peaceful and a good nights sleep could be had. The property was large and very clean and Mario looked after us throughout our stay. 10/10

Perfect Place

We stayed in apartment G and could not have envisioned a better place to stay. The apartment seems newly renovated. The whole place was very clean and the bathrooms were very nice. The terrace was clutch. The first time we walked into the downstairs lounge, we thought it was too good to be true! We were a group of 7 guys for a bachelors trip. The location was perfect for us. Walking distance (10 min) to everything we needed for a good time. We even walked to the Van Gogh museum (45 min) and it was great to see the city. Train station 10 minutes away. Tram pretty close too which can take you around.Mario was very accommodating and helped us with anything we needed. Overall, would definitely recommend.

Nice top apt in great location

Joseph was great! I didn't hear specific details from him until the day before the booking, which was a little stressful but from then on he was an excellent communicator. The place was great. We had a minor issue with the shower drain not working but Joseph hopped on it as soon as we contacted him. He was very helpful, including lugging our bags to & from the top flight apartment. Would stay here again. Thanks Joseph!

Favorite place to stay in Centrum

I've stayed in Amsterdam Centrum many times, but this is by far my favorite place to stay. Quick access to everywhere in Amsterdam but you have everything you need right there. I've stayed her before, but this time went for the top floor unit and it did not disappoint. The lounge on the ground floor is a fantastic place to hang out when it reaches quiet time and you can't hear anything from it. The ground floor also has extra towels, toiletries, etc in case you run out during your stay as well. I really can't recommend this place enough. It's one of the few places I've stayed in Amsterdam that not only lives up to the description but exceeds it in everyway. I'll definitely be staying here again.

Incredible Hospitality in a Great Location

My group of six was so happy with the apartment. Between the comfortable sitting room, the two balconies, the full kitchen, and the air conditioning, it had everything we needed for a fun trip to Amsterdam. Also, I can't say enough about Mario. He was an incredibly thoughtful host, taking the time to walk us through the features of the apartment and building, as well as giving us tips on things to do during our time in Amsterdam. He went above and beyond in service, between buying us some beer (without us asking!) when we first arrived so we could have some before the stores closed, and booking us cabs so we could make it to the airport on time at the end of the stay. Highly recommend Mario and the apartment to anyone looking for a fun time in Amsterdam!

The top floor apartment was very clean and comfortable for 5 people. Our host -Mario was very kind to let us store our bags there early and he had all our bags taken up when we returned to check in. There is NO lift in this building and the stairs are step. Which is not that unusual for Amsterdam. But something to keep in mind if there are mobility issues. Another thing to note is there is only one toilet. Two bathrooms- but one is for bathing and one is with a toilet. This made things a little difficult when everyone is leaving to start their day at the same time. Be sure to download "What's App" on your cell phone. It is the best way for Mario to stay in touch. We were not big users and did not have cell coverage while biking and such - it made for miscommunications. This is actually a good location for easy access to a lot of activities.

Family trip to Amsterdam

Our family of 6 (with adult children) stayed in Amsterdam for the final leg of our European holiday. The location of this property is excellent for being centrally located to many of the major sights. It was within walking distance of the Anne Frank House, many museums, the flower market, Dam Square, etc. And of course, it is steps away from the Red Light District, so be prepared for large crowds, especially in the evenings. The property has 6 single beds and is listed as 1.5 baths, which it is, except I did not look closely enough to realize it only has one toilet (in the owner's defense, it does state that- it was my oversight). We made it work and honestly, there aren't many options for large groups to stay together in Amsterdam, so we were happy. The property is large and clean and secure. We stayed on the fourth floor so you must be able to climb steep steps, but the owner did bring up our suitcases for us. Overall, we had a great stay here.

Great stay!

Very comfortable apartment in an excellent location! Within a 10-20 minute walk of all the major Amsterdam attractions. A grocery around the corner and many close-by restaurant options. Mario was very accommodating and let us store our luggage on the first and last day, but there was no early check-in available. The apartment was as advertised with 1.5 bathrooms but we incorrectly assumed both would have toilets. Just be aware that there is only one toilet in the apartment. It is a great penthouse unit with high ceilings which is nice, but you walk up a lot of stairs. This didn’t bother us but something to be aware of if you have accessibility needs. Also, you have to go through one of the bedrooms to get to another one. This wasn’t clear in the description- it worked out okay for us but would’ve been good to know ahead of time. All in all we recommend Mario’s place!M

Mario is the best!

This apartment was awesome. My daughter, sister, and I enjoyed 10 days in Amsterdam. The apartment was perfect for us. We each had a bedroom. The bath/shower was very nice. We had a balcony with beautiful views of the neighborhood rooftops and a nearby old church. The location was great. It is on a narrow street between the Red Light District and Niewmarkt area. So many great restaurants in the area. It's centrally located and all the main tourist locations are a 20 minute or less walk. We went on a canal ride (Captain Jack - so fun!), Rijksmuseum, Van Gogh Museum, Anne Frank house, and the Resistance Museum. The apartment is only a 10 minute walk to Centraal station so catching a train is easy. We spent a day in Utrecht. Our host, Mario, is the best! He took such good care of us! Very attentive. He had our laundry done one day. He carried all our luggage up the stairs for us. On our last day, he carried them down and ordered a taxi to take us to the airport. This apartment is on the top level and there are many steep stairs to get to it. However, we took it as a challenge and had fun with it.
