Nick was amazing, welcoming, kind, helpful and generous! We stayed for 5 weeks and had an amazing time! He was flexible with us extending our stay and accommodating with the kids! He even shared some of his delicious home cooked meals and amazing fruits on his property! We will absolutely be back when in town!
My family and i had a great stay. We were in between homes for a good reason and we were able to cook, go for walks (beautiful neighborhood), and work nearby.Would highly recommend. Nick is a GREAT HOST!
Nick is an excellent host! The courtyard has an apricot tree, plum tree, fig tree, and blackberries all which Nick encouraged me to pick and enjoy. The cottage was super clean, exceptionally well stocked, and very convenient to walk to downtown Willow Glen area. The trains never bothered me or my sound sensitive dog so that was not an issue. I would definitely stay there again.
Nick was very accommodating of our needs and an excellent host. The property was beautiful and the bungalow was exactly what we needed. Having the hot tub available to us was an added bonus.
Great location, running/walking trails close by (Three Creeks Trail), and coffee shops and restaurants within walking distance. Nick was quick to respond and very hospitable. :-) The train didn't bother us a bit.
The interior of the home was very clean and tidy, everything it it’s place, I had no trouble finding what I needed. When my guests arrived for the party they were quite pleased with the home, they found it quaint and charming. This would actually be a good place for a spring get together. I do have to say the bed was the most comfortable bed I’ve ever slept on.
the place was great. location and the homie touches made it special. love the garden and all the cool places to hang out on the property. Tnx Nick! see you in Xmas! :)
We loved the place. Nick made sure we were checked in ok. House was super clean and comfortable. Cool deck with fruit trees. Neighborhood is very quiet. Pet friendly. We have nothing but good things to say. Thank you Nick for letting us stay!

Comfortable beds, clean, outside areas were nice, lots of nice plant life, but sitting outside on the furniture, we would have liked the cushions cleaned. This location is right next to the train tracks. We slept fine, but should bring ear plugs just in case.

Susan and her husband were great tenants, I'm a little surprised at a three star review. During their stay there were no concerns, complaints or additional needs communicated. If in fact the outdoor seat cushions were this big of an issue I would've had them washed had it been brought to my attention. Unfortunately there was a light rain the day they arrived that most likely caused this issue. One additional notice that there are earplugs provided and are in the unit at all times.
Unfortunately, our stay at this place wasn't what we expected. We had already spoken with the owner about renting the place since we wanted to have a family reunion for our wedding. The place isn't what it looks like in the photos.Everything was dirty, old, the roof was hollow, the yard was sagging, and the place was poorly maintained. We left very sad and disappointed. That same night, we had to look for another place because the change and cleaning we needed to do to the place was too much. It's a shame that despite having told the owner, he didn't do anything.
Nick is a great host. The house is in a good location. The reserved parking spot was awesome.
The inside is spacious, the kitchen had everything needed (except food of course). Two TV’s is very convenient. The bedroom has a very large closet. The bathroom is small but the water pressure was perfect and got hot right away. I’m definitely coming back.
This is the third time we have stayed at this property. Once for 6.5 months, another for a week, and then again for about 3 months. Nick is very responsive and attentive to any issues that come up. It’s in a great area, love the neighbors. Yes there are train tracks behind the house, but we were used to it and unbothered by it. Cute backyard area. Parks are very close as well.
I am a travel nurse who stayed here for 6.5 months with my husband and daughter plus our two dogs. Nick was great to us our entire stay and was attentive to any issues that popped up while we were there. This is a very safe area with a lot of parks within walking distance if you have children. There is a sitting area behind this house and a mini golf green that my daughter loved. There is a pull out couch that we used for guests, and a big walk in closet with plenty of space. Staying here was an overall great experience. We would stay here again if we found our way back to San Jose.

Great family, would love having them back anytime.
We really appreciate the host’s accommodation. He was very kind. The hot tub was great. The backyard was eclectic and fun.
The accommodation itself is in need of care, for example, closed doors, mold remediation, new paint, repaired fencing. There are loud train hours at least every hour making sleep pretty impossible.
Our family worked hard to clean and leave the space better than we found it. Thank you.

Wow, this one is out of left field, the review really hurts! I am very upfront and reinforce the train prior to booking. not only did I let them move in the night prior to their actual stay but also let them use the hot tub free of charge. this house is extremely charming but yes; it was built in 1915. If you want the Ritz Carlton this is absolutely not the place to stay but if you want quaint, charming, and an unbelievable atmosphere it is definitely the place to stay.

Liked: Check-in
Disliked: Cleanliness, location, listing accuracy
Not happy, not as stated on listing
The place was dirty and looked like it was falling apart. It was basically a shed in someone's back yard.. Way small than expected however, that could have totally been a misunderstanding from the listing. Overall not happy with the listing along with not getting a proper refund due to having to cancel because we were uncomfortable and did not feel safe staying there,

I am not entirely sure what was inaccurate, but everyone is always very impressed with the size and quaint atmosphere of the 1915 bungalow.
Unfortunately every once in a while we all have someone that's trying to take advantage of the system.
The house and property was horrible. The hot tub was not accessible due to fallen trees blocking it, construction work was being done on the premises, tools were left out making it hazardous to walk. There was trash down the side yard. The inside of the unit was slightly dilapidated I would not recommend this place. The property manager was a very nice guy however it did not outweigh what I was stuck with so disappointing.

It’s always disappointing when somebody leaves a review like this even though everything had been disclosed. Kim was aware of the construction and that it was ongoing and was not disrupting her stay or the unit she was in. The spa was absolutely accessible as the tree was removed that day and had fallen due to a large windstorm the night prior. Sometimes unexpected things happen it’s how you manage/fix those things. Such a bummer that someone would leave a dishonest review like this over 6 months afterward. I think she may have not been able to afford it after all and took advantage of my kindness. I allowed a full refund minus the cleaning fee. I would never rent to Kim again, I value honesty too much.
This bungalow turned out to be ideal for my husband, 2 adult dogs and me for a one month stay. It is a quaint early 1900's home, with a fun backyard. It was winter and rained much of the time we were there, so didn't get to enjoy the sitting areas as we would have were we there another time of the year.
The house itself gave us much more space than a hotel would have with a living room, kitchen, bedroom and large walk-in closet. The house is old, and in some cases, shows its age. But, don't let that deter you, as it is cute and historic, which we appreciated. The owner, Nick, has been updating the the house(s) on the property. You'll be able to see some of that in this charming unit. The kitchen was stocked with what we needed -- nothing fancy, but the usual: dishes, silverware, cooking utensils, pots & pans. It also has standard spices, ziploc baggies, foil and things of that nature.
Back to Nick, he truly made us feel like we were friends visiting, instead of a renter. As you'd expect in an older home, sometimes things don't work as we'd like. He addressed issues immediately, so that we were not inconvenienced. Again, better then dealing with hotel staff if something weren't working in a hotel room.
The location is super easy access to couple major freeways and downtown San Jose. On the fun side, it is very near the main part of Willowglen, which offers a lot restaurants, some shops, nail salons, etc. I wouldn't hesitate to here rent again.
Owner was very accommodating when we and our pets needed to be out of our house for a weeks. Property is old and needs some work, but owner is improving it. Kitchen is updated and nice. Bathroom definitely needs updating. Still, owner addressed issues that we had promptly. He was very welcoming and friendly. Note that property is close to train tracks for commuter train line.
