Large fully air conditioned luxury villa with pool in beautiful location

Superb fully air conditioned detached villa, private pool with a solar cover, 200m2 sun terrace with sofa, two arm chairs. Brand new state of the art kitchen and beautiful bathroom with powerful waterfall shower. A swing chair/bed with drapes overlooks the pool on its own raised terrace area. Two outdoor dining areas, the one to the rear of the property which is a south facing sun trap overlooking the beautiful woods, the other is a covered terrace with built-in French BBQ with views of the surrounding countryside. There is a side lawn large enough for a game of badminton, a table tennis table, a herb garden where you can pick some fresh organic mint, thyme, sage, marjoram, bay or Melissa. We have a row of lavender and some beautiful plants that attract the wildlife. This hidden gem provides a very high standard of accommodation in one of the most sought after areas in the region. Boulangerie, pharmacy, take away, three great restaurants - very French, market stall selling local produce, public basket ball, picnic areas plus a beautiful river and streams to play in, which are all within a short walk. Set in total tranquillity, in a secluded valley yet only 2 miles from Ceret, a beautiful town with plenty of art history, bars and excellent restaurants. The property has been fully refurbished to a very high standard with every possible convenience, such as wifi internet access. The pool is closed from October - April, however, the sauna can be used during this period.

Great place to relax

The house worked for us perfectly. It was fully equipped and very clean. Everyone loved the space and the privacy of the house and nearby amenities. The swimming pool was greatly enjoyed.

Had a great stay in this house. Magnificent and beautiful environment. Nice pool. New kitchen. The furniture (beds and couches) are old and need to be replaced. Mosquito nets on all windows, which is nice. We had a really nice stay here.

Nice house. Not very large with basic furniture. The kitchen is small but well equipped and has all you need to cook / bake for a large group. All rooms have airconditioning. There are different outdoor areas you can use so always a spot in the shade or sun. We enjoyed our stay!

Lovely home, very comfortable and well equipped.

We had a lovely stay with great cycling and walking in what is a really beautiful area. Su gave us a vast amount of helpful information about the locality. Beds comfortable, modern kitchen, showers great, pool lovely and we enjoyed having plenty of space in the garage for bike storage etc. Boulangerie close by and Lidl also near. Isabelle the local manager dealt with any queries very efficiently.

Winter sun and ski

This was the perfect location for our winter break, we chose it for easy access to the coast and the ski resorts in the Pyrenees but found it all too easy to relax in this lovely house in its peacefull surroundings! We enjoyed walks to medieval old Reynes and picturesque artist town Ceret when we could drag ourselves away from the log fire, sauna and jacuzzi bath. We will have to come back in the summer and make use of the terraces and pool.

Beautiful quiet spot

4 friends staying for a week in June. The property was spacious and gave us beautiful views over the mountains. Plenty of different outside spaces to dine, avoiding the sun. Thoughtful mosquito nets on all doors & windows which were so needed! The highlight for us was having access to the bikes in the garage as there's nothing very accessible within a short walk. Sadly all of the restaurants in the local village have closed down (except the boulangerie). The bikes meant that we could easily explore Ceret without needing to get in the car.

Perfect trip, beautiful part of the world, wonderful weather, great house in a fantastic location.

It is unbelievable how uplifting it can be to take a break abroad in September. The weather was just perfect. Warm, sunny and bright. The air smelt fresh, the scenery was absolutely beautiful. We ate alfresco every day, the ambience was majestic. Alfresco dinning at night too. I didn't wear my coat or jumper.We saw beautiful sun sets, with crystal clear evenings and starry nights. We visited the Museum of Art and saw the amazing Dali exhibition. We hired electric bikes and cycled down to the coast one day, perfect, a beautiful lunch followed by a swim in the sea. One day we cycled up towards the mountain and visited a UNESCO site and again ate a beautiful lunch on the way. There is a segregated cycle path right on the door step that takes you from the mountains to the sea - oh la la, we had such fun whizzing down the mountain, we reached 52km! The house was a joy to come back to after our energetic trips out, it was luxury to have a long soak in a very comfortable Jacuzzi bath, then sit outside and see the stars appear, owls hooting, crickets, frogs and there was even a trace of wild boar activity in the garden! Every night we flopped into the extremely comfortable beds, then again, alfresco dinning on the terrace for breakfast, we were lucky enough to see a Golden Oriel fly right past us! The house was very clean, tidy and had everything we needed, plus it was in a great location, quiet, yet on the door step of Ceret, a sheltered sunny spot, right between the mountains and the sea. We will be back...We did actually do a few other amazing trips, but I won't go into detail! And, don't tell anyone, but we did watch the telly one night too - it was like being at the cinema but with the added bonus of slobbing on some very fluffy comfy sofas!

Agréable séjour. Quelques réserves concernant la qualité de la literie très aléatoire. Certains lits simples sont inconfortables. Les photos de l’extérieur de l’annonce sont plus avantageuses que la réalité. La piscine était en travaux et cela ne nous avait pas été communiqué avant .

Disfrutamos de un fin de semana genial. Hubo una incidencia con el suministro de agua general y enseguida nos informaron de lo que pasaba y hasta nos trajeron agua. Muy atentos y amables. Una casa muy agradable con todos los servicios y detalles, con muchos espacios para estar juntos y también cada uno su privacidad. Cuando nos fuimos estaban instalando el Aire Acondicionado pero estuvimos muy bien de temperatura con ventanas abiertas. Era finales le junio. Para volver!

Maison bien équipée au calme !

Nous avons passé quelques jours fin décembre jusqu’au 2 janvier et avons apprécié les équipements, le feu dans la cheminée à notre arrivée, les lits faits… très paisible, on se sent bien dans la cuisine comme dans toute la maison. Aux beaux jours la piscine, le sauna et les espaces extérieurs sont certainement très agréables. À recommander !

Wonderful holiday

The house was perfect for our family holiday, ages ranging from 11-89. Everything we needed was available and we wished we could have stayed longer. The location is ideal for those wanting to laze by the pool or for a whole host of adventures in the surrounding area.

Amazing area

Perfect house with several seating areas, so you can change where to sit depending on the sun. Be aware that the pool is deep in both ends, so not small kids friendly. The area is so beautiful, and perfect spot for many tours in own car.

Wir haben die Zeit in dem schönen etwas abgelegenen Ferienhaus mit Bergsicht sehr genossen. Alles war wie beschrieben und sauber. Das Haus ist gut ausgestattet und sehr geräumig. Besonders sind der kindersichere private Pool, der Gasgrill und die 6 Fahrräder. Die Besitzer des Hauses sind sehr freundlich und telefonisch gut zu erreichen. Vielen Dank! Gerne wieder :)

Bon séjour

Nous avons passé deux semaines agréables dans cette propriété. La propriétaire britannique est très réactive, le Wi Fi est correct et la maison est bien équipée. Nous avons juste trouvé le lieu un peu trop éloigné des plages. En revanche, il y a beaucoup à visiter autour de Reynès si on aime la nature et il y a quelques bons restaurants aux alentours. Un séjour globalement satisfaisant en ce qui nous concerne. PS Le téléviseur n’étant raccordé à aucune antenne, on ne peut l’utiliser que pour regarder Netflix ou à partir d’un ordi portable ou un lecteur de DVD.

Mike packed in his successful job when Theo (our third child) was a baby. We sold up in the UK, bought a trailer tent and ended up at a camp site on a beach with our three children for the summer, looking and deciding where to live. By September we had chosen a school in an area that we liked, set up our own small business and then proceeded to look for a place to buy whilst we rented. Our three children were by now in the local school. We fell upon this house, it was in quite a state when we bought it, however, now with many years of hard work from all the family, it is now a pretty as a picture and we are very proud of it.
We love our French house, we love the people, the lifestyle, the weather – if we had stayed in France any longer we wouldn't have ever come back to the UK.

Why they chose this property

As we were living in France we wanted somewhere quiet but not remote for the children. It had to be accessible so that we could travel back and to to England easily to see the family and somewhere where we could swim, sail in the summer, with a warm, dry climate and yet go skiing in the winter. What makes this property unique

It’s in a very friendly village, set in a wonderful location where you can access/see the mountains or the sea. From the house you can walk along a quiet lane to the school, boulangerie, and a couple of shops/restaurants. The weather is brilliant, the house is in a sheltered spot with its own micro climate so it is usually warm, sunny, still and dry.
