Family of 5 with a 7 month old. Condo was a nice size and within a 5 minute walk to to Poipu Beach. Great section of beach for kids. Such a beautiful island, would stay again!

Awesome View!

We loved staying in #421! Very comfortable and in a great location. The condo was well appointed with all items you need for a relaxing vacation. Did I mention that the view is amazing? I think the 400 building at Nihi Kai is the best kept secret in Poipu. We are definitely returning!

Poipu Condo

This was a very comfortable, well appointed condo with a really nice view. The location was great! Parking was easy. My only concern would be for people with any trouble getting up and down stairs because both bathrooms and bedrooms are on the lower level.

Great place, not so great carpet

Well located, very easy to walk to the beach, lovely balcony, plenty of kitchenware. We enjoyed the provided beach chairs. Two problems: the carpet is super old and kind of gross. You’re asked to take your shoes off, but there were bits of leaves and other stuff on the carpet when we walked in, as well as many questionable stains, which was not ideal with a baby. Other issue was towels. We were given about half the towels as we had people. Put in a service request, they said they’d bring more, more never arrived. Went to the office and they said it would be an additional $90 for more towels, and that we should wash them ourselves. Which we did, but would have preferred actually having the right about of towels instead of washing them between people twice during our stay. Kind of ridiculous for this price point.

While it has recently been professionally cleaned, it sounds like we may have missed a few spots when we prepared for your arrival. We are always happy to come by and touch up anything we might have missed. I've reached out to you directly to investigate what might have happened with the towels. You should have been supplied with enough beach and bath towels for the number of guests on your booking. I am still unsure why the towels were not delivered when you asked, but it seems like when you visited the office, there may have been a miscommunication about a towel exchange or linen change service rather than simply picking up the towels that you had requested earlier. We are sorry about this and understand that doing unnecessary laundry throughout your stay is less than ideal. We are sorry and hope to have the opportunity to host you again.

Perfect, relaxing getaway

Amazing property overall- the grounds are IMMACULATE! We met and talked to several of the grounds employees and they were just SO FRIENDLY and FUN to chat with- they truly embodied the whole Aloha spirit! We thanked them for their work and gushed on how beautiful the property grounds were- we saw them every single day pruning and clearing away the discarded plant parts, sweeping, mowing the grass, cleaning the pools… They take great pride in their work and told us that’s what we need to do- take care of our land so they can take care of us!!! We talked to them every day we saw them so I have to say KUDOS to them- they even remembered us by our last name- “hey, it’s the D…. Family!” On to the condo- WOW OH WOW! When we first stepped in- we were immediately in awe of the grand ocean view! We dropped everything and just ran out and enjoyed the amazing view. Our condo was PERFECT. Cleaned and ready for us. There was an issue with the blinds in the guest bedroom but they did leave us a note to let us know and apologized for the inconvenience. It didn’t bother us so we didn’t follow up with it. Really appreciated the washer and dryer and the Tide pods! Plenty of kitchen utensils and equipments to use! Easy and quick stroll to Brennecke’s and Poipu Beach! Check in was easy and we did not bother the front staff office at all- because there was nothing that we needed! Everything was just perfect and we cannot wait to return! Thank you Nihi Kai for making our very first trip to Kauai so so memorable!

Amazing View

This condo was great for us. Location is perfect, right above the pool with amazing views. We'll look to rebook this unit again in the future. A few notes about the unit that might help others considering the unit: 1. No A/C - but great cross breezes. The louvered windows allow breezes to flow. It was a cooler week during our stay, so it was plenty cool in the condo. Not sure how it would be on a hot week. 2. Due to no a/c and reliance on cross breezes - all the interior doors (bedrooms, etc.) are louvered too, allowing airflow while doors are closed - so the unit lives a bit like a large studio from a sound perspective... there's really no effective sound insulation. Not a problem for us, but worth mentioning. 3. There are no bath tubs. The listing said there were tubs, but both bathrooms have shower only. With 2 little ones we were looking for a unit with a tub to clean up after the beach. Minor inconvenience for us - the location/view made up for it and we'd stay there again despite the lack of tub 4. The unit is a bit older, shows some wear and has a lot of carpet. For some that would not be ideal for a beach holiday... For us it was perfect with 2 little kids. 5. Being a top floor unit - the stairs are significant. No big deal for us, but something to consider if stairs aren't your thing. 6. Other reviews complained about sewage smells... we had some occasionally as well, but only short periods. Not enough to complain about. A septic truck did come and pump at one point in the week, so maybe the holding tank is near the pool and that causes it? Overall an amazing value - the grounds are great, location is fantastic, staff are very friendly and accommodating, condo is spacious and fully stocked, the view is top shelf and sleeping to the sound of crashing waves can't be beat.

We booked this condo for 8 days in October of 2022. We have stayed in rental condos for years across the mainland US, Europe, and even in Asia. I cannot recall one that was cleaner than this one. It was easily within the top 3 best furnished stays also. The location of Po’ipo cannot be beat. The property management company has a great communication process also. We would definitely stay here again.

Condo near Poipu beach

The location was amazing. You can see and hear ocean from the living room. I enjoyed having coffee in the morning and drinks at evening overlooking the ocean from the patio. The place is spacious and kitchen was nicely equipped. There were plenty of towels for beach and others. The unit is aged and could use some upgrades. Location is excellent. We walked to Poipu beach each morning and grabbed mango or guava smoothie each time.

Overall we enjoyed our stay. Easy access to the beach, beautiful view, but we were quite disappointed with the lack of cleanliness of our unit. There was food dripped on the kitchen cabinets, orangey mold on the shower grout, and the shower curtain is perpetually soggy as it hangs too long and never dries out....kinda gross. Also, the chaise on the lanai is stained, a throw pillow was fraying and had holes, and the carpeting is stained as well. Just a general sense that the unit is cleaned quickly, but not cared for. The grounds were nice and the pool was clean. My husband thought the bed was uncomfortable, but I thought it was fine.

Overall we liked this location. The property itself is a great location walking to beaches and across the street from the water. Condo needs a few additions of kitchen items which we will suggest. Back bedroom is large but toilet lacks privacy. Nice views of sunset.

OMG. It was much better than we even expected!

I planned our trip w/out input from my husband or 2 teens so they didn't know what to expect & my fingers were crossed. It was such a lovely condo and SO comfortable! It was the perfect way to decompress after the ordeal of the COVID test requirements and the long flight. My peeps were terrified that I was going to drop them into some loud, touristy situation but it was just completely serene and quiet. If you're looking for wild and frenetic, this is not the place for you. This condo was just the ticket and it really made all the rest of our crazy vacation completely doable because we had such a nice place to retreat to. Only bummer - the non-functioning hot tub. Sad-face emoji! We'll def be back!

Can’t Beat The View!

We had an amazing time in Nihi Kai #421. It was well stocked, clean, in a nice location, had a great cross breeze; however the view and sound of crashing waves that made it spectacular. Will definitely stay here again.

Great Place, Lose The Incense!

We were delighted with the location, the pool, the large space and the lanai watching whales. It's very beachy, comfortable like an old shoe. I would give it 5 stars but as we walked in there was a fragrance that immediately triggered my wife's sensitivity, and brought on a migraine. After some searching we found some incense in mason jars that really were intense. I'm not sure if this is meant to mask some of the age of the carpet and wear and tear of the unit, but it seemed unnecessary and once we put it outside on the landing we could breathe. Some care towards this would make us jump at returning, it's an issue that more and more people are experiencing or now voicing. Looking at some of the older reviews the septic smell never bothered us, the trade winds were really blowing that away from us. It is a two flight stair walk up, didn't bother us in the least but would be a consideration for people challenged by this. We cooked on the common grill with ease, the kitchen had most items we needed other than spices and foil or wrap. We slept great, neighbors were quiet, the mattresses could be upgraded but not uncomfortable. Thanks!

Nihi Kai

Great location down the road from all the touristy spots so you avoid the hustle but can walk to Brenneckes beach easily. The pool and tennis courts are right there no crossing the street like Kiahuna Plantation. If you want a great view I recommend a third or second story unit. Parking is easy and our unit came equipped with everything we needed , beach chairs , boogie boards , sand buckets etc. plus no charge for the use of tennis racquets they just Loan them to you. I took 3 teenage kids and it worked out great. Manager was super helpful.

Unit was well kept and clean. First few day an awful sewer smell kept coming into unit until they cleaned the tank in the parking lot below. View fantastic, front office and all amenities in super shape and ease and access to pool and beach within easy walk. Will stay again at same place.
