The lovely market town of Prades, medieval fortified town of Villefranche de Conflent and the spa town of Vernet le Bains are all less than 10 minutes away. Further afield, the Mediterranean coast is 45 minutes distant. While in the winter a selection of ski resorts, including Pyrenees 2000, Les Angles and Font Romeu are only 40 minutes' drive away and there, even in summer, there is much to see and do. Also close by is scenic Northern Spain. A bit further on, but still easily doable as a day trip, is Andorra which has a huge range of tax free bargains. All in all, this is an area of great beauty and variety.
