Large private condominium apartment at the resort condominium complex on the beach in sunny Kihei, Maui, Hawaii. 1 bedroom with private attached bathroom. 2nd bathroom down the hall with shower, large living area, dining area, kitchen with breakfast bar. PLUS, large private view deck looking out towards ocean. Beach chairs, pool towels, full size appliances including air conditioning and washer dryer. The Maui Sunset is located on over 5 acres of oceanfront at Kihei which is considered one of the best locations on the Valley Isle. Kihei is noted for its year-round sunshine, balmy trade winds, and soothing evening air. It is one of the driest and sunniest areas on the entire island, averaging only 10 inches a year! World famous swimming and snorkeling beaches are minutes away at one of the many sandy safe beaches at Kihei and nearby Wailea. Just a short distance (6 miles) from five championship 18-hole resort golf courses at Wailea and Makena. The two buildings frame and protect a large recreational area that is carefully attended and landscaped. The 60-foot swimming pool with its broad decks and abundance of pool furniture invites you to improve on your tan. Reviewer Comments: While the location is excellent, serious cleanliness and maintenance issues significantly impacted the quality of my visit.⦁The dishes, utensils, and cookware had clearly not been washed properly. The stove was extremely dirty and appeared neglected for quite some time. I had to run the dishwasher for all dishes, cookware, and cups; which is unacceptable for a vacation rental!⦁The coffee maker was filthy, and the filters provided were stained. It was evident that this equipment had not been cleaned or replaced after the previous guest.⦁There was hair throughout the unit upon arrival, including on the floors, in the tub, and on the bathroom walls. This suggested that housekeeping skipped essential cleaning steps and failed to properly sweep, vacuum, or sanitize the space.⦁The carpet and couch in the living area were stained, worn, and appeared to have not been deep cleaned in a long time, giving the condo an overall unkept and neglected appearance.⦁The air conditioning units were extremely loud. One unit was not working upon arrival, and the bedroom unit operated on a 4 hour timer, which disrupted sleep. Additionally, the sliding door beside the bed opens directly to an exterior walkway where children frequently ran at night. This could pose a safety concern, if it were a solo female guest.When I contacted property management to address these issues, the representative repeatedly spoke over me and focused more on what the front desk staff downstairs had told me; despite them not being affiliated! I felt completely dismissed. He then placed me on hold and ultimately disconnected the call, which was unacceptable! Although he later left a voicemail offering to send housekeeping, I had already begun cleaning myself, and given the condition of the unit, I did not feel confident in their service. Overall, I do not recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: While the overall property and layout were fine, the room left too much to the imagination. B304 had very smelly carpets, most likely just shampooed. The ice make ran non-stop with a knocking noise...seemed like someone was at the door; and did not make ice! The blender had only one speed and leaked a black liquid all over when ran. The dishwasher, washer and dryer were older and need to be run multiple times to get the job done. Silverware was bent. There were no steakknives for our BBQ and there were no storage containers with lids to keep anything in the fridge. And finally, the property or owner does not allow for more than one set of toilettries. Awful for two guys swimming, surfing, and participating in physical activities. And no laundry detergent provided so what's the point. Seriously not going to purchase full sized containers!

NO one was in the office until 4. I understand checking in at 4 but having no one in the office was not expected. Our room was very nice, decorated nice, full kitchen amenities. Bathrooms could use an update but they were clean.Grounds were beautifully landscaped, nice pool area. On the whole, our time spent there was good. Would consider renting from Maui Sunset again.

The rental had all the chairs, umbrellas, boogie boards etc. just load up the jeep (get a jeep not a car)and roll out. Unit also had an awesome gas bbq setup (6 of them), just get your meat/seafood and gas ($.80 cheaper per gal) from costco. Main bed was small for 2 but unit accomodated 4 of us nicely. Unit also had all cookware, blender toaster ...everything needed to feel at home. Would stay here again in heartbeat.
