This cedar-shingled ranch on a quiet street has an open floor plan and a large deck for lounging and BBQing, along with a large pool, a big yard, a hammock and great views of Ice Pond Park. It's just a half-mile walk to Crescent / Sunset Beach, the ferry and to Marie Eiffel and other restaurants in Shelter Island Heights. The house is fully stocked with beach chairs, lounge chairs, towels, linens, a new grill, an espresso machine (plus a Keurig) and all you need for great meals and great times.

We had a terrific time - the house was perfect for us.

We really enjoyed our stay. Diana was extremely responsive and everything was perfectly set up. The house is truly a “home” and the location is great - very central to everything - beaches, Marie Eiffel, IGA etc. The pool and outdoor shower were key for our family! We will be back for sure :)

We're a family of adventurers who move between New York and other parts of the world as journalists. We have two kids who love Shelter Island as much as we do.

Why they chose this property

Nestled in the woods near the end of a dead-end street, with a gorgeous pool area, the house feels far away and calm, but it's actually just a half mile from everything you could need -- the beach, the IGA, restaurants and golf. From the relaxing ferry ride over (a martini in itself, some claim) to the warm chocolate croissants at Marie Eiffel's, to the beaches and nature preserve, the house offers access to an island that's a perfect place to rest and unwind.
