The cottage was well appointed, clean and well equipped. The view towards the Cuillins was delightful and always changing. The position is quiet and handy to Portree and roads to the sights of Skye. Wonderful place to stay.
We had a wonderful few days in Arus. It’s a lovely modern, comfortable and well equipped house with stunning views across to Portree. The location was perfect for us to head out for time in Portree, walks in the hills and a trip to Raasay. I would highly recommend.
A very comfortable property, five minutes from Portree by car. Beautiful views, functional kitchen, large enough for three couples (three bathrooms) but perfect for two. In excellent condition, clean and easy to navigate. A very pleasant and quiet home away from home.
The house is very spacious and offers a lot of space. The kitchen is very well equipped. In summary, it is a very cozy and family friendly house.

ARUS is a very nice modern home - spacious and great views. It has all the amenities that a person / family would need for a stay on the Isle of Skye. It is a short distance from Portree by car but perhaps too far to walk frequently into Portree (2 miles). The property was clean, quiet, and very comfortable.
This is an absolutely stunning place to stay. The view is breathtaking. The accommodations are lovely. The host is fantastic. I cannot say enough good things about this stay. Super convenient location (close to town but quiet), easy to get around from). The home is well stocked with one of the nicer kitchens I've seen in a VRBO. Overall, if you can stay here on your vacation to Skye, you should. It's exceptional.
Great location to explore Skye. Views from the cottage were spectacular, was nice to have two sitting areas from which to enjoy them. House is very well equipped with everything we could’ve needed especially in the kitchen. Bedrooms well furnished too and very comfortable, blackout blinds were perfect for the early morning sun and having three bathrooms was a treat. Beds were comfy too. Our first visit to Skye and it didn’t disappoint!

Arus is an incredible property in a wonderful location.
The house has amazing views over the Cullins. The 3 double bedrooms are a great size and also have amazing views. The house very comfortable and is very well equipped. The very minor problem we had in the week was sorted very quickly and easily.
We had a lovely week here and would highly recommend Arus to anyone visiting Skye.

Thank you for taking the time to post a detailed review and recommendation. So pleased you enjoyed your stay in Arus.
Very quiet, scenic location with easy access by car to all of Skye. The walk from the house to Portree via Torvaig and the Scorrybreac trail is a short, lovely alternative to driving. The host is exceptionally helpful including recommendations for local walks and arranging to mail an item left behind by one of our party. The house was clean, had ample fridge space for provisions, and a well-appointed kitchen. We couldn’t have been more satisfied with the experience!
Lovely house, clean and close to Portree.Minor complaint, not enough towels,we were given one bath towel and one hand towel for the week, the weather wasn't good enough to wash and dry them outside. Some if the pots need replacing, they were nonstick but scratched.

Beautiful house in stunning location - what more can you ask for?
Fantastic house to stay in - we were a family of 5 with 3 children aged 13 upwards. Lots of space downstairs, lovely bright open space to see the stunning views of the Cuillins. Ideally located near to Portree to get the essentials from the well stocked supermarket as well as the little coop as you go into the town.
Kitchen has everything you need and with the extra space in the garage area, (another fridge/freezer), lots of space to leave stuff, dry clothes, boots etc. Essentials such as kitchen roll, tin foil etc was all there.
Wonderful having 3 bathrooms always a plus with teenagers!
We were told the wifi might be slow but was no problem at all. Our daughter had to submit a university essay during the week which thankfully had no problems.
Upstairs extra space to chill, see more views, play games was an added bonus. Big supply of books, games etc.
Garden space was great esp the decking area to chill on after a hard days walking.
Thank you.
We were given an extra bonus- the weather shone!!!! (sorry that is not always the case on Skye I believe)

Hi Mary
Thank you for your wonderful review. It is very much appreciated and I am delighted that you enjoyed your stay in Arus. The wifi was upgraded just last month and I am pleased that it is up to speed. Good luck to your daughter with her essay. Skye is especially gorgeous when the sun shines.
I would also like to take this opportunity to thank you for leaving Arus spotless after your stay. Many thanks and best wishes to you and your family.

The property is immaculate about a 30 minute walk outside Portree. It was a great centre for us to walk and explore the northern part of Skye. Loved it and would book again
I had previously visited Skye when I was 21 and this year I am 70 so I was eager to see if I still loved it as much and check if it still wowed me in the same way. It certainly did! Our accommodation was perfect for our group of 3 adults - large and airy, with stunning views of the Cuillins and very well equipped. It was in the perfect location on the outskirts of Portree so it was easy to pick up provisions and get to restaurants although we did a lot of our own cooking to make the most of having the house. It was also just near enough for me to explore the town on my own and there are several lovely walks from the front door. Overall an excellent week and even the weather was great!

About the host
Hosted by Andy Burr
I was born and brought up on the Isle of Skye. Our family have spent many holidays on Skye and now as adults still love to visit.
Why they chose this property
Achachork has always been a favourite part of Skye for us with its panoramic views and being within walking distance of Portree, the main village on Skye. When this site came up we decided to go ahead and build a house taking into account the wonderful views across Portree to the Cuillin Hills beyond. We are very lucky to have a lovely house built to our own specification with everything we need in a holiday home and wonderful views to enjoy from every window.
What makes this property unique
The views from the house towards the Cuillin Hills are spectacular and the house is warm, comfortable and has all the mod cons required for a relaxing stay. As a base the location is perfect for day trips throughout the island being so near Portree. There is nothing better than to sit on an evening with 'refreshments' and watch the setting sun turn it's magic on the landscape, no matter which season there is always something different to view.
