We had a fantastic week at the Villa. Linda was a brilliant host and we had lots of communication before arrival. The Villa was spotlessy clean and extremely spacious. We were a group of 12 (age 69 down to 1!) and there was plenty of space for us all. We liked that there were a mix of lounge areas, as the children could relax with the tv on whilst others could go off for some quieter time! The pool was great and we liked that this was across the driveway from the Villa, as it meant we weren't worrying about the children accessing it without adults. We had a beautiful welcome basket of goodies on arrival. Really enjoyed our stay and exploring the local area.

From the moment of booking to leaving the property everything was wonderful. Linda, the owner always replied to emails and messages quickly. Ottavio checked us in and out and was courteous and professional. We had Guilia cook for us twice and the food and service was very professional and great food.
I would recommend this villa to families for a great vacation. Plenty of room for everyone.
We were celebrating 80th, 50th and 21st birthdays from 3 generations, 16 in all.
Villa Aurora is a lovely property with lots of separate spaces to spread out to swim in the lovely big pool or to play games of table football, table tennis or pool or just to quietly relax to read or chat. We would highly recommend this beautiful villa.

As a group of mixed families with children and adults this property met all of our needs. Very close to Ostuni and was able to see many other small towns with less than an hour drive. Very extensive house manual with recommendations. Property manager was very responsive in settling any matters we had during our stay. Reliable taxi services were provided to help getting around

Beautiful Villa Aurora
We spent two weeks at Villa Aurora - everything was perfect - the house and gardens - beautifully designed, the pool - warm enough to swim in the evenings, the food - Giulia cooked for us most days - what a lovely lady. The owner Linda and the manager Ottavio - couldn't have been more helpful - even having wine delivered to the villa for us. There was so much to do in the area - beach visits, exploring local towns, eating in fabulous restaurants, learning how they make olive oil, visiting a vineyard, a safari park and everyone was so friendly and welcoming.

We feel very fortunate that the villa is in easy reach of so many lovely historical towns, vineyards and interesting places to visit. We hope to welcome you back to Villa Aurora again in the future. Many thanks - Linda
It was very luxurious. Everything was brilliantly appointed. Communication with the owner, the manager and the amazing chef was outstanding. Ottavio the manager greeted us upon arrival. Gave us a tour and informative instructions. Giulia prepared three amazing meals for us. I couldn’t say which one was my favorite. Everything was so delicious. I have to Say that the fish on Friday before we left was exquisite.

Our traveling group spent an amazing week in Ostuni at this villa. We spent days traveling around to local towns, afternoons by the wonderful pool, early evenings having wine on the roof top terrace and evening meals on the terrace prepared by the spectacular Giulia and her husband. Accommodations were perfect with enough places for solitude and group laughter. This home was beyond words - clean, extremely well-appointed and magical. A million thanks to Giulia for making dishes my mother used to make and making each meal so very special. Would definitely recommend this lovely villa and hope to revisit someday.

Wonderful large Villa and Trullo near Ostuni, Puglia
We were a large family group of 16 covering four generations. Villa Aurora is a beautiful villa with separate apartment and Trullo. It is extremely well appointed and equipped with lovely outside spaces, pool, gardens, terraces.
Linda helped deliver a 5 star experience, providing many recommendations for local attractions, restaurants, beaches, markets etc and was on hand to answer any questions.
A lovely area to explore, with many historic old hill and coastal towns, with fantastic seafood and Puglian cuisine.
We will certainly be back!

Came here for parents’ 50th. Grandkids ages 2,4,7. 9 of us total. Property was outstanding, huge, well located, and the owner even more incredible and responsive. Hire the chef she recommends! We had so many choices of where to lounge, dine, and play. House is extremely well equipped, and the various spaces are divided enough to allow each nuclear family to have a little privacy. The pool was heated just enough for us to enjoy in early May, and was a highlight. Property manager also really responsive. Would come back here in a heartbeat!

Hoping that we can welcome you back again
Our host Linda gave us a perfect stay in the heart of the beautiful Puglia countryside. Villa Aurora gave us every amenity that we could think of. Every detail of our Villa was hand curated by the owner, Linda, who did a magnificent job communicating to us prior and during our stay. Our family had 7 of us in which our kids are 19 down to 1. Villa Aurora’s heated pool and manicured landscaping kept us outside a lot even when it was cooler weather. Linda connected us with Giulia who cooked many magnificent meals for our family. By the end of our stay we felt like Giulia and her family were our friends. We certainly will come back to Ostuni and stay here at Villa Aurora again.

Our three generation family of 15 spent a week at this spectacular property. We have stayed in many rentals but none were as well equipped as Villa Aurora. A quiet rural setting that exceeded our expectations. Communication with Linda was prompt and helpful. Ottavio the onsite manager was always there if and when we needed him. At Linda's recommendation we engaged Guilia and her daughter for cooking our evening meals. The food was wonderful as were the chef and daughter. All in all it was a wonderful week in the Puglia region of Italy. It will be in our collective memory books for a long time. Thanks Linda

Homely special place
Eight family members stayed in this very special home from home villa and we all felt we had our own private space yet the enviable social space the villa offered was second to none. The outside space is very special and you will not fail to recognise the thought and effort that's gone into the gardens.
There is so much to do in the villa that the only problem we encountered is that one week is simply not long enough to enjoy all it has to offer.
Linda, the proud owner of the villa, was very attentive from the day we booked, to the day we returned home and offered very useful advice and recommendations.
We can thoroughly recommend the chef; it was one of the highlights of our week (please can we have the lasagne recipe?!) and we thoroughly enjoyed Lecce and Ostuni old town.
The Puglia region is still relatively untouched by tourism and this gives it an authentic, unblemished local feel which is genuine and good value for money.
We thoroughly recommend a visit in this area and would suggest two weeks is an essential to enjoy all Villa Aurora has to offer.

It is great to hear that you enjoyed Villa Aurora and Puglia so much, together with Giulia's cooking. I will ensure that you get her lasagne recipe! Yes, you do ideally need more than a week to enjoy everything that the villa and this lovely region of Italy has to offer. It is not easy to pull yourself away from the tranquility at the villa to see all the lovely sights in the local area. However long we stay there ourselves it never seems long enough. We hope to welcome you back to Villa Aurora with your family again for longer in the future. Thank you for all your kind comments.
Highly recommend Villa Aurora - what an incredible property! We have stayed at many different villas in Italy and this really does top them all!
From the ample, landscaped grounds to the superb pool and every part of the various buildings on site, each is impressive, carefully thought out and impeccably maintained.
We were a group of 12 made up of 3 families including children from age 11 - 17. Everyone had plenty of space and lots to do! The games area is an added bonus with table football & ping pong. Lots of outdoor eating areas to enjoy as a large group.
The roof terrace is a real gem with a 360 degree view over the whole area.
We hired Giulia the chef to cook one evening and everyone absolutely loved this experience and her delicious, locally-sourced food!
Boat trip at Polignano a Mare and Tuk Tuk tours of Ostuni where such great fun activities for all ages.
The owners provided extensive information of every aspect of the trip, from local restaurants, shops, activities and directions.
The whole villa is maintained to a superb standard and allows you to really make the most of this incredible area of Italy with maximum comfort. Outstanding!
Not quite 5 star - premium price but falls short in parts
Good property but some of the bedrooms disappointing in size and without AC. Kitchen and veranda in main villa very tight for a group of 13 and furniture disappointing for dining on veranda. Despite website lauding the power provision at the villa, all electricity went out following one thunderstorm (understandable) but the pump for water cut out a further three times during our one week stay and not storm related.
A lot of rules and reminders making our stay somewhat less relaxing and comfortable than it should be.
A lot of dogs locally with some very loud vicious barking at night.
Premium price but it is not a premium product/offer in every respect.

We are very surprised and saddened to receive your negative and we feel unfair comments Claire, especially given that after you departed you sent me an email saying that you had a great holiday as a family together and enjoyed your stay at Villa Aurora. You even went onto detailing the many aspects of the villa that you really appreciated - the gardens, the pool, lots of different spaces for relaxation and quiet, plenty of equipment and tableware for cooking/dining, comfortable beds and linens, the snooker table and other plentiful games, none of which are in your review.
You did mention to me about the electrics tripping after a thunderstorm and subsequently, and I went back to you on this explaining the reason why this happened, after checking it out with our property manager Ottavio. I can assure you that we do have the best level of electrical supply available to us, which we pay a high premium for, that being a 15 KW 3 phase system, which we maintain to a high standard. As explained at the time, Ottavio told me that there were several thunderstorms and electrical power surges the week you stayed with us which caused a lot of problems in the local area. An example of that is another property that Ottavio looks after which had their washing machine burnt out because of it that same week. We have surge protectors to stop our equipment being damaged by power surges, which trip the switches on the electrical board if there is a problem. The switch then just simply needs pushing back up, which is very easy to do and the electrical boards are all in very accessible positions within the villa. In fact you called Ottavio out to the villa on two occasions for this, which he immediately responded to. The first call out he just pushed the switch back up straight away as soon as he arrived and on the second occasion within the short time of him getting to the villa you had already pushed the switch back up yourselves and all was fine, there was nothing for him to do. Power surges in Puglia are quite common, so the alternative to this is to not have any protection and to have the electronic boards on the equipment burnt out when this happens. We unfortunately experienced this several years ago and it caused a big problem for us and immense expense.
Summer this year in the region was exceptionally long and hot and for this reason we are having air conditioning installed in all the bedrooms throughout the villa before the start of next season.
We have a lot of expensive items at the villa which we leave out for our guests to enjoy. To avoid any abuse, neglect and damages we have certain rules in our booking terms and conditions, which are in no way unreasonable. A lot of these rules have been put in place because of a small handful of guests not being respectful of our home and causing damage. These are clear to see and accept at the time of booking, they are not hidden. We have stayed in other properties around the world with far more rules and regulations.
The kitchen and veranda are a good size and we have never received any negative comments about this before. The veranda in fact measures 11.3 x 2.4 metres. You said you found the chairs large for the space but you could have easily swopped these over with the chairs on the roof terrace which do not have arms on them or asked me to arrange to have this done for you. You also had the option of eating on the roof terrace or the terrace around the swimming pool if you wanted more space, all of which have their own tables and chairs. We feel very fortunate to have three separate areas for outside dining, in addition to having two dining areas within the villa too.
Regarding your comments about dogs and loud vicious barking, there are no vicious dogs in the area around the villa so your comments are very surprising to hear. The gardens are large and we have a stone wall all around the entire grounds with a high wire fence on top of that. You never mentioned this to me at the time. In fact during your stay I did get in contact with you on two occasions to check that everything was going well and you never replied to me.
All our other 47 reviews are 5* for both before and after your stay with us, which says a lot. We pride ourselves in providing a high level of service and care.
Villa Aurora is not your typical holiday rental and we have rented several in Italy, France and the Caribbean. This is akin to staying at a friends country home. The decor is exquisite filled with antiques and art representative of the Far East. The kitchen is outfitted with all one needs to cook, serve and store meals. And given the lovely veranda, who wouldn’t want to enjoy some meals outdoors. Or as an alternative you could have Giulia, a chef familiar with the villa, prepare you a sumptuous feast.
We were a family of 9 and the accommodations left us wanting for nothing. Plenty of space to find quiet time, ample bathroom/ bedrooms and stunning outdoor gardens complete with walking paths and seating. Cocktails were enjoyed several evenings on the rooftop terrace after a lazy afternoon at the tempting outdoor pool complete with comfortable lounge chairs, shady seating and a refrigerator.
We can not thank Linda enough for her communication throughout the booking process and stay providing us with ample material about the area. This family birthday celebration in the region of our grandfather’s birth could not have been more perfect! Grazie mille to all.

Fabulous Family Holiday
We have just returned from our family holiday at Villa Aurora. Fantastic time (17 of us age range from 9 – 80!). Layout of villa, Trullo & apartment was great. We all had our own space but also had loads of family together time – at the house, round the dinner table, up on the roof, round the pool etc.!.
Lovely furnishings inside the house, kitchens very well equipped, beds were extremely comfortable. You get the sense you are staying in a home and not rented accommodation.
The pool is quite brilliant and a lot wider than I thought. One comment on the loungers – the white sculptured plastic loungers look far less comfortable than the normal sun loungers. Believe that at your peril. They are exceptionally comfortable and were being ‘fought’ over by the end of the holiday!
Linda was very organised at sending through local information, restaurant recommendations etc. before our holiday. All were very relevant and useful. Note - you don’t need to print it all out. Linda has a huge information pack in the Villa with all that information and more!
It was a very relaxing, peaceful holiday. Great time was had by all. Thank you very much.

Thank you for your lovely review Sue. We are so happy to hear that you all had a fantastic time at Villa Aurora and appreciated it being furnished and equipped as a home, which it is.
It is really good to read your comments on the white sculptured sun loungers. They are new and were expensive and as we haven't used them ourselves yet we really didn't know how comfortable they were. They are made by a local company in Ostuni. Retailing at just under €500 each they were obviously worth the investment. We feel that high quality sun loungers, furniture and beds make a difference and help make Villa Aurora in a different league to a lot of other rental properties. Your appreciation of this is great to hear.
Many thanks - Linda
La villa de Linda est tout simplement fantastique!

About the host
Hosted by Linda Cargill
We are a family of four. Linda has put all her energy and loving care into Villa Aurora, bringing it up to the very highest standard. It is a wonderful family home for us, perfect for entertaining, which we like to share with other people allowing them to also enjoy the pleasure of staying there. We are very passionate about giving all of our guests the very best holiday experience and service, which all the amazing 5 star reviews we have testify.
Why they chose this property
When we first arrived in Puglia we fell in love with this unspoilt part of Italy, its friendly people, fantastic locally produced food and wine, good weather, lovely coastline and beautiful old historical towns, with Ostuni being in our opinion the best. It was like stepping back in time. The area is steeped with history and beautiful architecture. Villa Aurora is in the Valle d'Itria, surrounded by lovely vineyards, with lots of local wine producers where you can have wine tours. We invite you to come share in and enjoy for yourselves what we have lovingly created. You will not be disappointed.
What makes this property unique
We originally wanted to purchase something old, but on looking found these properties to be very dark and often damp, not allowing you to enjoy the beautiful weather and views from whilst inside. What we love about Villa Aurora is its spaciousness with its high ceilings, large windows and doors, letting in lots of light, allowing you to enjoy the fantastic views of the swimming pool, beautiful gardens and lovely countryside from inside. These can also be enjoyed from the villa's seven terraces, three of which are shaded. Every time we go onto to the roof terrace that instant feeling of "wow" never goes away. Everybody who goes up there feels exactly the same way. With the added benefit of a 300 year old trullo, the property offers the very best of both worlds, old and new. With our hectic lives we find the villa to be so quiet, peaceful and instantly relaxing. It is situated in a truly beautiful location and is luxurious in every way. We have landscaped the gardens to complement this with many different areas to sit and relax. It has become our haven away from the pressures of the outside world.
