About this property
6 MIN WALK TO OSTUNI OLD TOWN - Stunning villa with Pool & Panoramic Sea Views
A ‘mosca bianca’ (white fly) is how the locals describe this magical location with its beautifully renovated lamia, private pool, outdoor kitchen with barbecue, pizza oven and very own orange grove, i.e., an exceptionally rare find.
The Lamia has been restored with its original stone features and vaulted ceiling and is situated just a few minutes walk from the old town of Ostuni, The White City, boasting unrivalled sea views, as far as the eye can see, as well as a picture postcard view of the old town.
However, whilst you are a stone's throw from Ostuni, the villa is situated in its own private orange grove where you can enjoy the peace and quiet of the countryside. The original lamia, which is now the sitting room, has been sympathetically extended to include a large kitchen/dining area and 2 double bedrooms, which lead straight out to the pool, all with ensuite bathrooms. The other 2 bedrooms are accessed from outside the main villa right next to the pool and are self-contained. Each bedroom has it's own private access but they are connected by an internal door, which can be locked for privacy. It is easy to access the main building, however, as the outside stairs take you straight up to the kitchen.
From the sitting room you can access the first of two terraces with stunning panoramic views of the beautiful Adriatic coast located just 8km away. The sea views stretch for miles in front of you and, to your left, you have the picture postcard view of the White City.
Ostuni is brimming with restaurants and cool bars and during the summer has a whole host of events in the piazza from live music to art exhibitions to street artists and is buzzing till the early hours. During the day you can relax by the beautiful pool overlooking the orange grove whilst gazing out to sea or enjoy a day at any of the variety of different beaches and coves along the coast. If you want a break from the sunbed there are plenty of day trips you can take to explore the beautiful medieval towns dotted around Salento and sample the amazing food and wines the region has to offer.
In the evening, savour a sun-downer on the top terrace watching the twinkling lights of Ostuni before enjoying a BBQ by the pool or trying your hand at making your own pizzas in the pizza oven. We can even arrange a Pizzaiolo to come in and make pizza's with you! Whatever you do, you can be sure that all your senses will be awakened in this magical place. And if you want a winter getaway, the villa boasts underfloor heating and a beautiful original stone fireplace to keep you warm at night. It is truly an all year round experience.

About the host
Hosted by Melinda Jackson

I live in Kent in England with my 3 beautiful children and am so excited to be able to share this beautiful Lamia with you. I fell in love with this area back in 2011 and was very lucky to find this gem tucked away from view. It took me nearly 4 years to renovate it into the villa it is today, keeping the original building at it's core. Italy stole my heart many moons ago on holiday with my family. This led me to teach English in Le Marche for 2 years so I could learn the beautiful language. Fast forward a lot of years and I yearned to go back and own a piece of Italy for myself. Puglia immediately caught my eye with its trullis and olive groves and when I saw Ostuni it was love at first sight and I knew that I wanted to be close to this magical town.
Why they chose this property
I was incredibly fortunate to come across the perfect setting and a derelict Lamia in need of some loving restoration. After a 3-year renovation project, I feel so proud and extremely fortunate to say that L'Aranceto is mine and I can finally share its beauty and magic with you. The location is second to none and the view from the villa over the Adriatic coast and Ostuni Old Town is breathtaking. You don't have to worry about parking as you can simply leave your car at the villa and walk a mere 6-minutes into the piazza where you can sample all the delights Ostuni has to offer. When you want to go further afield, the villa is well placed for easy access to the beach and other beautiful nearby towns and there are all the amenities you could need on your doorstep too.
What makes this property unique
You have your own private pool with outdoor kitchen with bbq and sink next to a large pergola with dining table and seating overlooking the orange grove which now grows in what used to be a stone quarry. Here you can lose yourself in the various areas within the grove and pick the different variety of citrus fruit, grapes, figs and cherries that grow there. The property boasts two different terraces where you can eat breakfast and lunch or chill on the top roof terrace under the stars while admiring the twinkling lights of Ostuni in the warm night air. There is a pizza oven and dining table just off the kitchen so there are many different areas to choose from. The villa is equipped for use all year round having underfloor heating and the original stone fireplace making this the ideal spot to explore Puglia.
