The main entrance leads to the living area with fireplace and satellite TV. A few steps lead up to the dining area and kitchen, fully equipped with all the necessary modern appliances. From the sitting area leads to the first bedroom (twin beds) and bathroom with shower, WC and a washing machine. A few stairs lead down to a very spacious second bedroom/suite with a double bed and a comfortable sitting area. Large balcony doors open out to a pretty patio with surrounding gardens, just next to the barbecue and wood oven. On the top floor is the third bedroom with twin beds and a bathroom with bath tub and WC. Facilities inside of the villa include four air condition units (included in the price), satellite television in every room, a DVD player, washing machine, dishwasher, microwave and various other kitchen appliances. There is the private swimming pool (40sqm) with sun beds and umbrellas and a variety of comfortable seating areas, providing the ideal setting for barbecue dinners.


This beautiful villa: This beautiful villa with a private swimming pool is situated 2.5 km outside the traditional village of Kavousi and 20 km East of Agios Nikolaos. The villa is located on the slope of a hillside with a spectacular view of the Mirabello Gulf and the island of Psira. The surrounding area is unspoiled with only a scattering of houses. The villa of 180sqm, is built on different levels, each offering spacious balconies and verandas affording breathtaking views across the bay and the surrounding mountains. It has been furnished in a tasteful, modern design in fresh colours and is with three bedrooms and two bathrooms suitable for 6 persons.

The picturesque pebble beach of Tholos with a taverna is located straight downhill at a few minutes drive. In the village of Kavousi there is a minimarket, traditional café bars (kafeneia) and tavernas. The small fisher village of Mochlos with tavernas at the waterfront is to be reached in 20 minutes.

Beautiful views with remote location

The home is very nice and clean. The host communicated as well as he could as he struggled with english. The host also provide some foods at check in which was very thoughtful! There are a few things that have not been mentioned before that we think should be listed for future renters. 1) There are a ton of steps both inside the property and outside. None have rails which could present a problem with young children and any adult with mobility issues. 2) The host came to the property and walked around every day…at times it felt like we were being monitored. 3). There are 2 outside cameras with one directed at the pool area 4) Mid week the host came and cleaned which was fine…except they were in the home 3 hours which was a bit awkward. The host did ask about cleaning…but we thought he meant changing linens and bedding….had we known we would have made plans to be away and 5). The fridge quit working the 2nd day. The host did have another smaller fridge on the property and did bring it to us within an hour..but it made us think they may have this issue ongoing. We did lose some food but it was not a huge deal. You must have a car for this location.

Idyllic, peaceful villa

The villa was immaculate, very well appointed and decorated to a very high standard. We had a super, relaxing holiday. The views were lovely and the area really quiet. There are other villas nearby but this villa was not overlooked and the neighbours were quite a distance away. A car is necessary to reach shops and restaurants easily but that is the price to pay for amazing views and a peaceful location. The owner and his staff were extremely helpful. We had a small problem with electrics at one point and the electrician arrived in 10 minutes from contacting the owner! Wish we could be offered that service in the UK. We look forward to visiting again.

Traumhafte Unterkunft im Niemandsland

Der erste Eindruck hat schon überzeugt. Das Haus sieht traumhaft aus und liegt sehr ruhig mit wunderschönem Ausblick auf die Bucht von Tholos. Der Pool ist sehr groß, durchgehend etwa 1,75m tief. Die Kommunikation war aufgrund fehlender Englischkenntnisse des Vermieters etwas schwierig. Die wichtigsten Punkte konnten aber beim Check-in geklärt werden. Etwas kurios war die Reinigung des gesamten Hauses nach der Hälfte unserer Urlaubswoche, die nicht nötig gewesen wäre, da wir drei Tage später auch abgereist sind. Die Küche war sehr gut ausgestattet, für 6 Personen hervorragend. Genug Besteck für alle, ein Sandwichtoaster, ein Toaster, Backofen, Tiefkühltruhe, Kühlschrank, Kapsel- und Filterkaffeemaschine und vieles mehr. Die Zufahrt zum Haus ist abenteuerlich, für Kleinwagen eher ungeeignet aber doch gut machbar. Alles in allem ist das Haus sehr zu empfehlen und definitiv eine Reise wert, wenn man vollkommene Ruhe haben möchte.

Fantastic and immaculate property and grounds that surpassed our expectations. It’s a truly stunning, peaceful and beautiful spot. Plus when you add in a great pool and the usual blue sky weather you have all the ingredients for a perfect break! A slightly rocky approach road but still no problem in a routine hire car. Thoroughly recommended!

Un magnifique séjour au bord de mer et au milieu des oliviers

La villa Tholos est située à flanc de montagne et domine toute la baie de Tholos. On a donc une vue superbe sur toute la baie et la mer méditerranée, avec en toile de fond Agios Nikolaos qui se profile vers l'ouest. La villa est au calme, le premier voisin est à quelques centaines de mètres en dessous, et le village - Kavousi - est à 4 km. Pour autant, la villa est plutôt bien placée ; à seulement 30 min de Agios Nikolaos ou de Ierapetra, et à 8 mn de Kavousi et de son olivier trois fois millénaire. Il faut aussi pousser un peu plus loin (40 mn des gorges de Richti, 50 mn pour Sitia, 1H20 pour Héraklion et Knossos ou encore Vaï et ses palmiers) pour profiter pleinement de la région. La villa en elle-même est très grande, avec une magnifique piscine à débordement qui donne l'impression de tutoyer l'infini avec la mer juste dans le prolongement. Elle a été conçue est respectant le relief de la montagne. Ce qui fait qu'elle est pleine d'escaliers, pour descendre ou monter, de terrasses pour déjeuner, se reposer en paix ou jouer. Ce n'est pas toujours très pratique (la cuisine ne donne pas directement sur la terrasse de la piscine par exemple) mais cela donne du charme à la maison. On peut par ailleurs profiter pleinement du grand jardin tout en terrasses, arrosé régulièrement la nuit. Kostas, le propriétaire, habite juste à côté à Kavousi et s'est toujours déplacé à chaque fois que nous avions un problème ou une demande particulière. Il ne parle pas bien l'anglais, ni le français, ce qui limite un peu les dialogues, mais il est très gentil et très hospitalier. Nous avions à notre arrivée eau, vin, fruits, pain et jambon, yaourts grecs et miel (miaaam) pour nous sustenter. Nous avons passé un très bon séjour et de très belles vacances qui nous laisserons de beaux souvenirs inoubliables de la Crète.

Sehr gutes Haus in toller Lage. Leider konnten wir den Pool nicht nutzen, wie wir wollten, da er von hunderten Bienen als Tränke benutzt wurde. Wir werden daher auch einen Teil des Mietpreises zurückfordern.

Una villa fantastica!

Perfetta sotto ogni punto di vista, casa e giardino sono ampi, molto curati e rifiniti, c’è una splendida vista sulla baia sottostante e la posizione è ottima per girare nei dintorni. Grazie mille a Kostas e Chrisoula per l’accoglienza che ci hanno riservato!!! È stata una vacanza magnifica.. Ci rivedremo sicuramente!!!!!

Tolle Villa mit phantastischem Meerblick

Die Villa Tholos bietet alles, was man sich für einen schönen Urlaub wünschen kann. Die Vermieter haben uns mit einem vollen Kühlschrank empfangen und uns auch ansonsten bestens versorgt. Haus und Garten sind sehr gepflegt und machen den Aufenthalt zu einem großen Vergnügen. Der große Pool und der tolle Blick auf die Mirabello Bucht runden das Ganze ab. Die Abende auf der großen Terrasse und das Licht der über dem Meer untergehenden Sonne werden uns immer in Erinnerung bleiben.
