Court Cottage is an attractive, detached stone house surrounded by a lovely, well developed garden in the secluded, picturesque (dog friendly) small village of Chedington, in a designated Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty. Cottage, tastefully restored into a convenient, comfortable, modern dwelling, overlooks a handsome neo-Gothic style stately home which, with its turrets & bell-tower, imparts a romantic atmosphere to the village, beyond which stretch beautiful views of the rolling Dorset countryside. Chedington nestles beside a dramatic, National Trust-protected ridge of beech trees which in spring is carpeted with bluebells. In addition to numerous foot & bridle paths in surrounding areas, the cottage is well situated to cater to a range of interests - 20 minutes from Dorset's World Heritage Jurassic coast; 10 minutes from Beaminster's excellent restaurants & shops & a 3 minute walk up the lane to the historic, popular Winyards Gap pub which boasts a much respected kitchen.

We've never been in such a lovely, wonderful stunning holiday cottage like this! It felt like a real home from home and we loved everything: the piano, the wonderful interior, the lovely paintings and books, the really comfy beds, the perfectly equipped kitchen. Thank you so much Felicity, we really enjoyed a wonderful holiday week in your cottage.

Strong recommendation. Lovely and neat country house. Perfect for a family stay.
2 bedrooms, 2 living rooms, spacious kitchen, recently renovated bathroom. You‘ll feel at home immediately.
Perfect location for trips to the coast (Durdle Door, Golden Cap, Bournemouth) or for hikings through the countryside.

Thank you very much! We’re delighted that you liked our cottage, and glad you enjoyed your stay.
A true description of the property and the stunning views. A lovely home from home warm cosy really quiet and peaceful. Fantastic pub locally bring a torch if you are walking there in the evening. Locals all chatty helpful and friendly.
A delightful oasis in the lovely village of Chedington, Beaminster. The property was charming and quite comfortable. The nearby inn, Winyards Gap, was within walking distance and provided great food. I would recommend this property to anyone who likes to enjoy the peaceful countryside.
Good experience all around. The property was clean, plenty of hot water, and the beds were very comfortable. We were in a terrific location to explore the Jurassic Coast, which was the purpose of our trip. We visited Stonehenge, West Bay, Bridport, Lyme Regis, Charlotte Beach and Eype. Would recommend this property to anyone.

We were completely smitten by Court Cottage. Quirky, comfortable and homely and it sits in the most picturesque quiet village of Chedington. More than that, it was the perfect place to explore West Dorset and we went on some beautiful circular walks that just had the most stunning views. Thank you so much for letting us stay in your beautiful cottage. Hope to come back one day soon once our legs/feet have recovered.

Dear Wilma - thanks for your lovely review! It made us very happy to hear that you enjoyed your stay so much, and that you liked our beloved English home from home. We'll look forward to welcoming you back again when your legs have recovered from all the walking! All the best, and many thanks again - Felicity
If you're looking for somewhere quiet to get a way from it all (but with a great pub/restaurant neaby.....with a perfect outdoor area overlooking the valley and sunset) then this is for you. There was very little else within walking distance. It suited us well for a week, but if you're looking for something with a bit more nearby, this may not be for you. Local towns are a short drive away and it's not too far to the stunning coastline however.
We so enjoyed our stay here! The house was absolutely delightful! It is very welcoming - everything we needed or could have wanted was there and the solarium was an unexpected bonus - it was hard some days to leave the house! Sipping wine in the garden while watching the sunset over the spectacular vista was a highlight. We were able to enjoy walks from the front door and it was well situated to go further afield to visit national trust properties and walks along the jurassic coast or just explore the neighbouring villages We particularly liked all the information we could refer to for walks, restaurants and sites. We hope we will be back!

The cottage was everything I was looking for during this troubling time. (COVID/19) I hope to return when I can get out more, but I can't think of a better place to self isolate. The cottage has everything you need and is charming.

This attractive, warm, and cozy cottage was everything we needed in a comfortable stay away from home. The cottage has such charm and a spectacular view. The info provided by the host made it easy to utilize the appliances/amenities. We are ever so grateful for this experience. It allowed us to make the most of our time visiting our son and daughter-in-law with the rest of our family. We could not have asked for more. Thank you!
