Secluded Villa With Large Pool And Spectacular 180 Degree Sea Views.
The house has 2000sqf of living space and is situated overlooking the Golfo di Noto on the crest of a hill on the same 10 acre plot of land where I have another house : Property No : 8349812. Calcicera Alta can be rented separately or together with Casa Pedro for larger bookings ( Sleeping 12 .) With thick limestone walls, white render and double height ceilings, it is cool in the summer months and warm in the winter. It sits in its own 10 acres of old olives and vines and is surrounded by unspoilt countryside and farmland. There is a 17mx5m swimming pool which is surrounded by rosemary terraces and great for laps as well as being child friendly and child safe. Likewise, the house is surrounded by terracing and has a large shaded area for outdoor eating and entertaining. There is an outside shower area, large BBQ and wood fired outside oven. The house has its own water source and is powered by Solar Voltaic panels located on the gatehouse giving it excellent environmental credentials. The location commands spectacular sea views from Siracuse to the furthest South Eastern tip of Sicily. Noto is the nearest historic town and a Unesco world heritage site. The house is 1 hour from Catania and 40 minutes from Siracuse. Noto is 20 minutes and the Vendicari Reserve and beaches are a 15 minute drive away. A car is essential and we recommend a small SUV. Wonderful villa with fabulous views
The house is fantastic! It is located at the top of a hill so that you have a 360° panoramic view into the landscape and over the sea. There are many different places on the terraces, the garden and at the pool where you can sit, relax and enjoy these fantastic views. The pool has a real good size so that you can swim, exercise and have fun. Inside the house is furnished with love and an eye for the detail.
We had a great time there!

Thank you so much Jasmin, I'm glad you liked the house ..
This Villa and its location are outstanding!, the views are incredible for a full 360*, we had my wife's parents and aunt with us, 6 in total with my 10 year old daughter, the villa is very traditional in style with plenty of space for us all and the addition of air conditioning that I am sure is needed in the summer, it has plenty of kitchen equipment and I love it when a villa isn’t completely cleared, so there are various things like salt and pepper, oil etc so you just replace what runs out, I found the best supermarket was Conad in Pachino, we stayed in April over the Easter period, when the temperature is perfect for us, warm days and cool nights!, I can be a bit windy at times and it was cool in the first week but really nice and welcome in the 2nd week, the drive from the paved road is ok but it’s a bit rough from the farm to the Villa, go slow and it’s fine, also I make sure you have full insurance directly from the hire company and I was very pleased of this as we had a few branches scraping the side of the car from the hedges!, we will definitely be staying there again as we just loved it!!,

luxury villa in perfect secluded setting
With extraordinary views of the Med to one side, and even more extraordinary views all the way to Mt.Etna on the other - I don't think it's possible to choose a better setting than Casa Pedro in Sicily.
The villa itself is exquisite - modern, clean, the latest in everything! Supping a cold one in the infiniti pool whilst watching the sun fall below the hills and mountains isn't a bad way to end the day!
Hidden at the top of a hill just outside Noto it feels like you're a million miles away from the hustle and bustle of the beach/bars/restaurants and local towns - but actually you're only 15 mins away from the sea. So when the mood takes you and you need a beer and a perfect pasta lunch, there are so many great authentic Sicilian places to sample. The sea is crystal clear turquoise, and warm. The beaches are spotless with miles of sand to wander on - perfect for the kids.
If you want to venture further afield you can hit Syracuse and check out the extraordinary food markets as well as the awe-inspiring ancient Greek and Roman ruins.
All in all; Casa Pedro is one of the coolest villas you can stay in, in the most amazing setting, in one of the Med's greatest islands! I'll def be back!

Brilliant villa with stunning views
We had the most amazing time in Sicily. Tom was helpful throughout and it was great to meet him in person during our stay. The villa has stunning views across the nature reserve to the sea. It has all that anyone could need to ensure aholiday runs smoothly. It is also very well situated for trips to Noto and Siracusa. It is secluded but that adds to the villa's charm. We will be back one day. Andrew and Tam

A cool and comfy home in a hugely evocative setting
We found this a great base to explore Baroque southern Sicily and the beaches and coastal towns. The sleeping and living accommodation are well equipped, stylish and comfortable and the landscaping, pool and landscape are stunning. Time can stand still in this secluded location amonsgt the olive groves but there is so much more to explore in the area.

A most enjoyable getaway.
Renting the house was no problem, Tom was always very responsive and helpful.
We stayed at the house first week of September 2016. Allthough remotely located and only reachable after an 8 minute drive over a dirt road, we had no problem finding the way to the house thanks to Google Navigation. Giovanni, the neighboring farmer, was there to let us in and showed us around.
The house is best located on top of a gentle hill, giving the house stunning views over the vendicari reserve towards the sea as well as a wide inland view.
The garden is beautiful and most generous. The pool is huge, well maintained and really enoyable, our kids loved it.
The house is big enough for 8 people, having 4 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms. The house offers all amenities you need and is also well maintained, considering the secluded location.
It is a perfect hideaway and provides tranquility, if this is what you are looking for.
We enjoyed our stay and can definitely recommend it.

A perfect family break
Our holiday was perfect in every way, the house was beautiful, comfortable and a cool escape from the heat. The pool was large enough to swim properly and the views from everywhere were stunning. This was our first family holiday together in quite some time so all the above made it very special. We would definitely like a return visit.

One of our favorite places to visit
This house is the perfect place for a relaxing holiday in Southeast Sicily. It is in a very quiet (a decent drive on track roads), beautiful location with sea views. The home is simple, well designed and absolutely perfect. The pool couldn't be more stunning, Tom is a fantastic host, and it is very useful to have Giovanni nearby as a caretaker. It works perfectly for two families-- to give privacy on each side of the communal area. We love the location-- great for day trips to beaches or an excursion up to Siracusa. We've been before and we will be back!

Thank you for your kind comments about the house and apologies over the misunderstanding about the pool. We don't open the pool before early May and this is typical of most holiday houses. Our pool is very large and typically takes several days to get the water in perfect condition for swimming and Giovanni , who looks after the pool, assumed you wouldn't want people around this long during your stay. We have made it very clear on our listing and within the house notes that the pool is open between May and September to avoid any confusion or disappointment in the future.

Sicilian splendour
Just returned from a fantastic stay in Sicily at Calcicera Alta. The property was exactly as expected - high quality furniture and fittings inside and the most amazing terrace and separate pool area outside. A remote location for some, but the fantastic view and being only 30 mins away from fantastic beaches and the regional centre of Noto more than make up for this. I would thoroughly recommend a stay here if you are visiting the region.

Serenity getaway
Little can I say to convey the serenity one feels staying at this beautiful country house. Generous inside out is the perfect get away. Ample space to sleep, expand, isolate or connect. Beautiful views, lavender smells, balance everywhere. Tom was a real pleasure to communicate with, always responsive with detailed guidelines and great suggestions on where to go eat and drink. A GPS would be most helpful especially if arriving at night. One of the few places I would return back to. Thank you so much for sharing!

Little bit of paradise in Sicily
We spent a week in this beautiful house overlooking the Vendicari Nature Reserve in Sicily. It is comfortable and spacious, with everything that is needed for a relaxing holiday in the sunshine. Amazing view and large swimming pool, kids loved every minute. Difficult access on farm road, but worth following directions to this little piece of rural paradise! Property was very clean and well maintained. Owner was more than helpful and generous with everything at the property, even including pool toys. I would highly recommend to friends. Good place from which to explore ancient sites and fabulous markets of Syracuse for fresh produce. Highly recommended.

About the host
Hosted by Tom Kearon
I live in London with my wife, 3 small boys and dog.
Why they chose this property
We bought the land first and then built the house and landscaped around the house over the following few years.
The location has amazing views and it is remote and peaceful whilst being close enough to neighbours, shops, beaches and local towns and villages to be convenient and practical.
What makes this property unique
Sicily still has a slow and civilised pace of life, highly sophisticated and cultured, while still being a little rough around the edges which makes it just the perfect place .
