About the host
Hosted by Bart and Monica Couvreur-Bluett
I now live in Australia (after meeting my wife in London)with my wife and 2 kids, but I am originally from Belgium. We come back every year to Monflanquin and just can't get enough of this region. Every year we discover other things to do!
Why they chose this property
We came to this region first in 2003, when my mother had moved from Belgium to not too far from here, so we now had to visit her in another country. But luckily she had chosen well and we fell so much in love with this part of the world that we just had to have our own little retreat here. And so we did: multiple years of working holidays and with the help of my mother and her husband managing when we were overseas, we are very pleased with the end result.
What makes this property unique
The property is just a few kilomters out of the centre of Monflanquin and is also not too far from Villeneuve-sur-Lot (about 15km), which makes it very convenient from a shopping perspective. Apart from that, everything that one could need is close at hand: good food, markets, wineries of the Bergerac area, castles (ruins and intact ones), bastide villages, ancient caves, treewalks, plenty of other walks, nice pools in Monflanquin and Pujols (15km), water sports including kajaking and canoeing, even golf is not that far.
