Town House in Estepona, Costa Del Sol, Spain - Quiet Gated Complex With Communal Pool And Direct Access To Beach And Port
About Phillip Chick
The house is owned by three cousins who all live and work in the UK. One of us is a golfer and the nearby courses make this an ideal golfing destination with a perfect climate to play, especially during the Spring and Autumn months. The house provides us with an ideal location to relax and take time out from our busy lives. It is an ideal spot to which we often escape. One of us has grown up children who enjoy both the local night life with bustling bars and restaurants but also making trips into Marbella, Puerto Banus and Sotogrande, all of which can be accessed easily by car. For younger members of the family the local beach is ideal and there are nearby water parks and themed attractions.
Phillip Chick purchased this House in 2009
Why Phillip Chick chose Estepona
The location is fantastic for family holidays, with beaches, bars, retaurants and supermarkets all only a short walk from the property. Estepona, unlike many other parts of the Costa, remains quintessentially Spanish. It provides a taste of the real Spain with Tapas bars and traditional Spanish entertainment available in Estepona town. The climate provides long sunny days and warm evenings to stroll along the beach, to walk into the old town or simply to relax at one of the many family friendly restaurants. For those with limited Spanish this is not a problem as English is widely spoken by bar and restaurant staff.
What makes this House unique
The property is fully air conditioned and is spacious with two very large lounge areas and three bedrooms spread over three floors. It benefits from its own high speed fibre optic broadband. It provides more than ample space for six people to enjoy each others company or to spread out and find personal space. The sun and roof terraces offer an additional dimension to the property, allowing people to sun bathe and relax in privacy. The Sun Terrace is a particularly good space to unwind in the evenings, opening as it does from the first floor lounge. This allows family to eat and drink outdoors even after children have gone to bed. The property has a brand new, well equipped fitted kitchen with oven, hob, dishwasher, washing machine, espresso coffee machine, etc. The lounge diner on the ground floor has TV via broadband offering UK terrestrial and sky package with movies, box sets and sport options together with a DVD player. For more formal meals. It has a large dining table that seats eight in comfort. Access to the Andalucian patio is via the ground floor lounge diner and provides rear access to the gardens and pool. The lounge area on the first floor provides a quiet space with access to the sun terrace. The urbanisation is walled and gated providing a secure environment in which to enjoy your holiday offering private off road parking.

Really nice house, excellent location close to the marina.
Lovely 3 bedroom house. Close to the marina. Would strongly recommend
Perfect location for our family holiday. The house description is very accurate.
We had a lovely holiday. Estepona is fabulous. The house and complex are exactly as described; the swimming pool was very refreshing; the nearby beach was perfect for our 2 year old. The proximity to the port and all the restaurants made it very easy to walk out for food in the evening. The walk into Estepona town was enjoyable. Altogether a very good holiday at a very reasonable price. Thank you Philip and Julie.
I must admit that I was rather concerned and apprehensive after paying in full for this property and then reading a rather negative and not so favourable review. I can now reassure all future guests that the review is not a true reflection or impression of the house/Belgravia Club or the surrounding areas. The property was spacious, airy, clean and with excellent facilities. The house is a “town-house “ type and therefore split into several levels (3 floors). The 1st floor lounge and sun terrace being on the first floor was our favourite room and where we spent a great deal of our time. It was spacious, light and airy and perfect for sitting outside for breakfast or in the evenings or just chilling reading a book from the extensive range of literature available on the book shelves. ( I read 3!)
It would have been nice however, to have had access to another T.V in this area or in the main ensuite bedroom - as we would rather watch different programmes to our older teenage sons. This was not an issue though, as we were out most days exploring Estepona and not in long enough to watch much tv- just something maybe to consider. The ground floor is considerably darker but this does provide a cooler area and reprieve from the extensive heat of the day. The bedrooms are all spacious and light with balconies and plenty of wardrobe space. The pool and gardens were lovely and well maintained with life guard on patrol. Although always busy - being in the height of peak season, we always managed to get sun beds.
The property is perfectly located with the Marina/Port right on your doorstep. The Marina is surrounding by a variety of restaurants, tapas bars, coffee shops and ice cream parlours, all of which are of good quality and we tried several! Estepona itself is beautiful and caters for all travellers needs. The promenade provides a long lovely walk into the “Old town” (approx 20-25mins). The steeets are lovely and very picturesque with an abundance of flowers and pretty plazas with cobbled streets lined with flower pots. There are a superb selection of eateries from restaurants and tapas bars , to fast food outlets. We visited the Orchid Garden Centre located in the old town, which is must for a cheap price of €3.All in all we had a great time and would certainly recommend this property. I can confirm that the pictures are an accurate and true representation of the property/grounds and area. Also
a mention to Kevin/Agent rep who was helpful and informative.
Horrid left straight away
Repeat of last review which said property was unsuitable for children and thoroughly gloomy and depressing. Cannot believe we were seduced by ? Old reviews . Private tatty path led to muddy carpark? And yards and yards of broken derelict concrete along the sea.,,have photos of interior and surroundings and will forward them. I will never book on your website again and would strongly advise you to remove this from your list. Phoned owners to say we were leaving straight away and they said they had never had complaints. My family have worked and lived all over the world and we’re shocked to be so misled. My friend who accompanied us and also took photos has bee in travel industry for forty years was shocked this mistrepresentation. A very costly mistake for me but most of all incredibly upsetting as a young granny wanted to treat my daughter and her young kiddies to a special recuperation holiday after the stress of moving countries to UK. and giving birth less than a year ago. Look forward to your comments and acknowledgement that I have been served a raw deal and will not use this website again or encourage others to do likewise. Not that impressed by our meet and greet either and appalled that owners may not have checked checked their place for sometime and an apology of sorts would be appreciated.
We're sorry and surprised that the reviewer was disappointed with our holiday home. Previous guests agree that it is a wonderful, family friendly holiday home.
We are shocked and saddened by the review which is disproportionate, misleading and untrue.
We've never received a review suggesting the property was "unsuitable for children" or "gloomy and depressing".
All reviews have been positive with a rating of 4 or 5 stars.
The property is ideal for children, having a pool and being so close to the beaches and restaurants. We have a 5 and 10-year-old in the family who have enjoyed many holidays at the house. Other guests agree with this, as do guests from other homes on the complex. Some reviewers have described the house as "heavenly".
The property has three floors and is spacious, light and airy. The sun terrace is a favourite place to eat.
The ground floor lounge provides a welcome cool area away from the heat of the day.
The car park was resurfaced only a few years ago and is in A1 condition.
We assume the reference to the 'muddy car park' relates to the nearby public car park at Playa Cristo beach - which isn't part of the complex but does provide a very useful short cut to the beach. The main entry and exit from the property are via the main road at the front (Avenida Del Carmen).
There is a long sea wall on the beach which is made of concrete - as most are.
We don't understand why the reviewer thinks they were misled. The website photographs are very recent and show the house as it is. The description of the house, its location and the facilities within the house and urbanization are accurate. The reviews on the website are unsolicited. Other listings of properties at Belgravia Club concur with our description.
The reviewer states that they were not impressed by the meet and greet. They provided an expected arrival time of 23.00. However, without notifying our agent, they booked an earlier flight and arrived in the early afternoon. Our agent spoke to them several times to give them directions, went out to meet them and guided them to the property. He let them in and showed them how all of the facilities worked. We have used these agents for 7 years without complaint Previous reviews have described them as very helpful. We visit the property at least twice a year.
There is one thing in this review which we agree with; in the 7 years of letting the property we have never received any complaints concerning the house, its location or our agents.
Stayed many times - superb townhouse
I have stayed on four occasions at this property. The property is clean, has excellent facilities and is very spacious.
Phill is easy to deal with and very helpful. The location is superb and a car is not needed. It is a five minute walk to the marina which has a superb selection of bars and restaurants.
There are two supermarkets also within a five minute walk. Playa Del Cristo beach is accessible from the townhouse and is a couple of minutes walk. This beach is ideal for families and has 2 chiringuitos for food and drinks.
The pool and gardens at The Belgravia Club are beautiful and even in high season it never appears to be too busy.
I would highly recommend this townhouse and will return.
Great location, great house - perfect holiday
This house is in the best location in Estepona. It had pretty much everything you could want for a great holiday. Very relaxing and comfortable, almost on the beach. Good pool, lovely gardens....at the port, and with the old town in easy walking distance. We didn't need a car: bus to and from Malaga airport is very easy. Wouldn't hesitate to recommend it to anyone (though be aware that the house is on several levels, so quite a few steps). Top terrace has great views out to sea. Highlight of holiday apart from magnificent food at every restaurant we visited was a trip on a catamaran from the marina to see dolphins (and have a swim from the boat way out in the Med)
El Cristo Beach is directly accessed from the garden & is perfect for families with children. The beach is in a sheltered cove gently sloping to the sea. Two beach chiringuitos serve snacks.
La Rada Beach is 2k long and fronts the town centre. It is a large, popular sandy beach. The promenade includes gardens and childrens play areas. Chiringuitos serve paella, fresh fish, burgers etc. Facilities include watersports, life guards, restaurants, cafes, toilets, showers and deck chairs.
Estepona is approximately 50 minutes south of Malaga airport by car. Alternatively, for a relaxing, drive-free holiday Estepona is easily accessible by public transport - buses leave from outside the airport terminal running direct to Estepona or for some busses, with one change at Marbella. The bus station in Estepona is a short taxi ride from the villa. There are some direct buses from Malaga to Estepona during peak season. On arrival, all local ammenities are within walking distance and there is a good local bus service.
Estepona provides a good base for exploring the picturesque towns and villages of Andalucia and for day trips to the Alhambra, Granada (approximately 2 hours drive), Sevilla, Cadiz Jerez are all within a 2 to 2 hour 15 minute drive Gibraltar (30 minutes) and boat trips to Morocco. Puerto Banus and Sotogrande are a 15 minute drive; Marbella is a 20 minute drive. Other local attractions include Selwo, a big wildlife safari park, Tivoli Gardens, a theme park and several water parks.
There are two supermarkets approximately 300m from the property and other supermarkets, bars, banks and shops are all easily accessible in the town centre. A large weekly market (wednesday) is a 15 minute walk from the property and a smaller market takes place at the marina (3 minutes walk) on Sunday mornings. The marina has a wealth of bars and restaurants catering for all tastes. The town itself has retained its sense of history and culture with its narrow, cobbled streets and small shops. The indoor market and local bars offering flamenco and tapas preserve a Spanish feel to the town.
