About this property
The Murta Bianca. Very nice sea view
New building, furnished and decorated apartment in Sardinian style.
Sea 400 m, as well as all shops, restaurants, bars ...
All rooms are air conditioned and heated.
The magnificent medieval village "Castelsardo" is 2 minutes by car, Alghero, the nearest airport 40 minutes, Porto Torrès, main port of the island, from where you can reach France or Italy is 25 minutes.
You will appreciate it for the exceptional view, the comfort, the cuisine and the huge terrace. My accommodation is perfect for families (with children) and can accommodate up to 8 people.
You have a private entrance from the reserved car park.
Sardinia is a beautiful island and the position of the apartment is ideal for visiting the many tourist sites nearby:
- Castelsardo, of which Lu Bagnu is the seaside district.
- The north-west coast of the island, which is a succession of magnificent beaches, isolated coves, Mediterranean scrub ...
- Alghero (L'Alguer in Catalan, S'Alighéra in Sardinia and L'Aliera in Sassarese) is a city of around 44,000 inhabitants.
Part of its population is from Catalonia and the city preserves the use of the Catalan language, recognized as official by the Italian Republic and by the region, under the name of the Algiers dialect (Algueres).
The city is one of the main in Sardinia, being the fifth in population and one of the gateways to the island thanks to Alghero - Fertilia airport. One of the city's economic engines is handicrafts and the sale of coral.
The city is located on the "coral coast", known for its highly prized red corals. Its coast is 68 km long due to its rather complex geography, with several small bays and small rivers. Cape Caccia, located 24 km from the city, is part of a protected area.
- Sassari, city of around 130,000 inhabitants, is the second city of Sardinia
The main dialect, Sassarais is a Tuscan language, very close to the Corsican spoken in Sartène and is very different from the Sardinian language.
One of the most important monuments of Sassari is called the Fontana del Rosello, of late Renaissance style, it is characterized by statues representing the seasons and a statue of San Gavino on horseback. You will not fail to visit the Duomo di S. Nicola erected in the thirteenth century on the model of Romanesque architecture and then altered in Gothic style with a Baroque facade. The Palazzo Ducale, a monumental building of the eighteenth century, made of limestone, the Tower of Sant’Antonio, one of the remains of the ramparts erected in the thirteenth century and the Church of San Pietro in Silki, built in the thirteenth century. Also note the Archaeological-Ethnographic Museum G. AT. Sanna, which preserves archaeological remains from the Paleolithic to the Middle Ages.
- By pushing a little further, you reach the wonderful site of Santa Teresa di Gallura, located just opposite Bonifacio in Corsica, only 11 kilometers away, which you can see very well in good weather.
- And, of course, like everywhere in Sardinia, the numerous nuragic sites.
The typical nuraghe has the shape of a truncated cone and looks from the outside like a medieval tower and inside like a tholos. The walls are made up of three components:
an outer layer in the shape of a tower, inclined inward and composed of several layers of stones whose size decreases with height;
an intermediate layer, made of small stones and earth;
an inner layer, made up of small stones forming a shell-shaped dome similar to a tholos.
The whole construction is robust: a nuraghe stands upright simply thanks to the weight of its stones, which can each be around several tonnes. Some nuraghes reach 20 m in height. A spiral staircase, made of stone, is built inside the walls, leading to the upper floors or to a terrace, if they exist.
There are just under 7,000 nuraghes in Sardinia. They are mainly found in the northwest and south of the island.
Su Nuraxi, the best-preserved Nuragic village, is located in Barumini, in the Medio Campidano. It is classified as World Heritage.
The most imposing nuraghe is the nuraghe Santu Antine, near Torralba. Other imposing nuraghes are located near Alghero, Macomer, Abbasanta, Orroli and Villanovaforru.
