About this property

Our property is a charming traditional one bedroom coach house. It has been fully modernised and is now a lovely peaceful and quiet cottage. It is furnished to a high standard and provides every comfort, including central heating, TV and DVDs. We even provide a complementary welcome pack and bottle of wine to help you unwind after your journey. The cottage has a "Visit Britain" 4 Star rating. If you would like to pre-order a delivery of organic produce (much of it local) before your stay, this can be arranged by contacting the cottage owner.
The Bay Horse pub is situated close by and is open daily from 11.30 am onwards. Lunches are served everyday between 12pm - 2pm ( Sunday lunches particularly are amazing!) and the pub is noted for its selection of real ales. A cosy pub with three open fires and a friendly welcome to all!

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Burythorpe in the 'old coach house'. The listing description was accurate regarding facilities, but the pleasant surprise was how comfortable the place felt to stay in. The pictures and ornaments added a homely touch, and everything you needed seemed to be provided. it was a lovely place to relax in the evening after exploring the Yorkshire countryside during the day. Burythorpe itself was a lovely location, off the beaten track. The owners of the old coach house were very helpful and accommodating. The only negative for us was the sloped ceiling in the picturesque bedroom, particularly above the bed. We coped with this by being careful and also reversing the sleeping end of the bed. We would stay there again if ever in Yorkshire.

As we stayed in the winter time we were a little restricted because of the weather sometimes but apart from that it was a very pleasant place to stay

Exceeded Expectations

Pam and Richard’s cottage ranks at the high end of holiday experiences. From the good nights sleep to well equipped kitchen to comfortable lounge…and private off street parking. We spent 4 weeks at our “home” away from home. All appliances worked…not one single hiccup. And North Yorkshire was a gem to behold! So much to see and do. Thank you Pam and Richard!

A Yorkshire beauty.

The cottage was delightful. Beautifully decorated, comfortable and very well equipped. We enjoyed relaxing in the little garden which has private parking at the back, always a bonus. Pam sent detailed and clear instructions about how to access and park at their cottage. Lots of additional information was also available about eating, walking and exploring the beautiful surrounding countryside. This holiday will live long in our memory.
