The Hayloft is a home from home holiday let and is part of a redundant set of agricultural farm buildings, the grade 2 listed property was sympathetically converted in 2017 by the owners to a very high standard.
Located in the village of Broughton (a no-through village) it is in an ideal location for touring the area with Castle Howard & The Arboretum 6 miles away, York 18 miles away, Helmsley 15 miles, Malton 1 mile, Pickering & The North York Moors Steam railway 9 miles, Thornton-le-dale 9 miles, Whitby 30 miles.
Pub serving food within 800 metres Cantonese restaurant within 2 miles + all the
amenities in central Malton (less than a mile away) which is reputed to be the Food Capital of the North.
This first-floor conversion has an open plan sitting room/dining area/kitchen with oak beams, CD + DAB radio/player with additional speakers in the luxury bathroom with large free standing bath & separate shower, bedroom with king-size bed & walk-in wardrobe, garden room below with indoor/outside seating.

One of the best we have stayed in! A clean and comfortable home from home with everything you could possibly need, including an umbrella and picnic set. Dawn and Dave were the perfect hosts and on hand to deal with any problems. The gift of milk and cookies was a very nice touch, something other owners rarely do these days. We would definitely want to stay at The Hayloft again if we were in the area.

Stunning property

Superb accommodation in a great location.

This was out first time in a holiday property like this and it was everything we had hoped for and more. Beautifully decorated, spotlessly clean and equipped with absolutely everything that you could ever need to enjoy a relaxing holiday. The location was perfect for us, with easy parking. David and Dawn were lovely, friendly and helpful at all times and we would like to thank them for a great stay.

Property just as described on the site but even the photos don’t do it justice. This is a perfect place to stay if you want to see the best of North Yorkshire and come back to a very comfortable residence with everything you could need. Hosts were friendly and efficient and would visit again in a Heartbeat.

Perfect accommodation

We had a wonderful stay at Dave and Dawn’s Hayloft in Broughton. The hosts really make you feel at home, the accommodation is complete, very clean and well cared for. They even supplied us with milk and cookies on arrival! It’s a perfect base for exploring The Yorkshire moors and dales and of course for a visit to York and Whitby. If there’s anything you need, Dave and Dawn will help you. All in all, a perfect place with a perfect couple as hosts.

High quality accommodation - excellent base for exploring

We had a great 6-day stay at The Hayloft in glorious October sunshine. The quality of the accommodation is incredibly high, you will not be disappointed. Everything has been thought of by the owners, Dawn and Dave, and the attention to detail is first class. It’s accessible to Malton, to the Howardian Hills, N.Yorks moors, the coast and also York, so serves as a great base for walkers, cyclists and car drivers alike. Dawn and Dave were so helpful in preparing for our arrival (news of Ross closures and how to overcome them) but once settled in, left you alone to your own devices. Great hosts. Malton has much to offer in terms of places to eat and with a train service to York/Scarborough offers great flexibility for your stay. We thoroughly recommend The Hayloft and we can’t talk highly enough about this part of Yorkshire. We will certainly return.

Great holiday

The Hay Loft provide everything we needed for a restful holiday. It was clean and comfortable with everything we needed. We enjoyed walking in the country and visiting places of interest which there are close by.

Lovely well equipped spacious Barn Conversion. Super walk in shower with piped music. Excellent lighting throughout. Easy walk across the fields to The Smithy Arms for a pint. Being accommodation hosts ourselves it was nice to share stories.

Amazing property

We had a lovely short break in Malton. The property was superb, clean, well equipped and it was obvious that a lot of thought had gone into the property. Dawn and Dave were lovely people and made us feel very welcome. Would differently recommend and would love to return someday.
