About this property

Stone farmhouse with pool close to Vaison-La-Romaine and Mt Ventoux,

Rourebeau was discovered as a ruined farmhouse over 60 years ago and has been lovingly restored into a simply furnished but comfortable family holiday home. The house is located down a short track and is surrounded by 1.5 hectares of it's own land. It's unique appeal is the perfect tranquility of the setting surrounded by vineyards and sunshine. The nearest village is Mollans-sur-Ouveze, 3 kilometres away, and Vaison-La-Romaine is 15 minutes drive.
The house can accommodate two families with 8 people in 5 bedrooms, or is perfect for a couple seeking peace and relaxation. There is a 10M x 5M swimming pool with childproof fencing and alarm, set 30 metres from the house. The house is usually rented by family and friends but we often have free weeks, and outside the main holiday periods we welcome enquiries from smaller groups (and can discuss rental terms). Many friends have spent happy honeymoons there!

The house is set on two levels:
First floor (accessible from the terrace)
Kitchen/living/dining room - a large open plan area with kitchen, dining table and chairs, and sitting room area around a large open fireplace.

Bedroom 1 - is located down a corridor leading from the main room. This is the large master double bedroom with wooden beams and full length windows looking towards Mt Ventoux

Bedroom 4 - a small bedroom with a bunkbed

Bathroom 1 - with shower, bath and WC

Ground floor
Playroom - open plan with a double bed in case of extra guests. Stairs from here lead up to central living area on the first floor.

Bedroom 5 - off the playroom is a small room with a small single bed.

Shower room and separate toilet room

Bedroom 3 - off the playroom with two single beds. Access is through this room to a small corridor that leads to a bathroom and then a further bedroom 2.

Bathroom 2 - with toilet and bath (with shower head)

Bedroom 2 - large double bedroom is accessible via Bedroom 3 and a small corridor, but also has independent access from outside.

Great authentic house

We had a fantastic time at Le Bas Rourebeau. The location is just magic, surrounded by vineyards with view on the Mont Ventoux. Very calm environment placed between the 2 beautiful villages Faucon and Mollans-sur-Ouvèze. The pool is perfect size and our kids had a fantastic time playing in it. We are definitly coming back!

Comfortable house with stunning view

The house is spacious and has good vibes. Great bedlinen (White Company) :) and selection of books. The house is situated in a lovely part of the Provence. The bedrooms and terrace have fantastic views on Mont Ventoux. Nearby Mollans is one of the most picturesque and authentic small villages and has a good bakery and bio-supermarket. Tim is a great host and responded quickly.

Glorious week at Rourebeau

Fabulous house in a stunning location amongst the vines of northern Provence. Views of Mont Ventoux summit from the comfort of your bed. Le Bas de Rourebeau gave us everything we needed. it is beautifully equipped and managed. We cycled and had walks, went wine tasting, had marvellous meals. Breakfast in Faucon is a must and enjoyed the Bar du Pont in Mollans. never thought about work for the entire week!

Vacances familiales et entre amis dans un lieu superbe

Nous venons de passer 15 jours dans une maison superbe, calme dans un lieu idyllique. Il y a plein de choses à faire dans la région, la maison est très pratique et authentique. Seul petit bémol: ménage pas top et pas refait au cours du séjour bien qu'annoncé, manque grille pain et couteaux pour cuisine. Dans l'annonce il n'était pas indiqué qu'il y a 2 chambres traversantes et 2 petites chambres avec lits superposés. Ceci ne nous a pas derangé car l'été nous vivons dehors. Je conseille ce lieu

Un petit coin de paradis

Nous avons trouvé chez Tim et Auriol exactement ce que nous étions venu chercher : du calme et de la nature dans un paysage enchanteur. Le tout est agrémenté d’une piscine très bien aménagée. Les indications des hôtes sont parfaites et tout le séjour s’est déroulé parfaitement.

Ein absoluter Traum

Fantastic house in a fantastic area!!! Unfortunately we only had one week in this paradise. Surrounded by vineyards, with a view of Mont Ventoux, only the cicadas in the background, we could relax and spend wonderful summer evenings on the terrace or have breakfast under the trees. The pool is a dream! Large, clean with sun and shade loungers. The hammock in the semi-shade was particularly preferred by us 5 women. The house is very large, well equipped. Everything you need is here. We have seldom slept as well as here. Great mattresses, soft pillows and this peace... wonderful! Tim is a great landlord! The directions to the house were sensational and everything was well organized. Contact with small questions was quick and easy. Just perfect! There is definitely nothing to criticize and we will definitely come back next year! Fantastisches Haus in einer fantastischen Gegend!!! Wir hatten leider nur eine Woche in diesem Paradies. Umgeben von Weinfelden, mit Blick auf den Mont Ventoux, nur die Zikaden im Hintergrund konnten wir herrlich entspannen und wunderbare Sommerabende auf der Terrasse verbringen oder unter den Bäumen frühstücken. Der Pool ist ein Traum! Groß, sauber und mit Liegestühlen in der Sonne und im Schatten. Die Hängematte im Halbschatten wurde von uns 5 Frauen besonders bevorzugt. Das Haus ist sehr groß, super ausgestattet. Hier gibt es alles was man braucht. Wir haben selten so gut geschlafen wie hier. Tolle Matratzen, weiche Kissen und dazu diese Ruhe…..wunderbar! Tim ist ein toller Vermieter! Die Wegbeschreibung zum Haus war sensationell und alles bestens organisiert. Der Kontakt bei kleinen Fragen ging schnell und problemlos. Einfach perfekt! Es gibt definitiv nichts zu kritisieren und wir kommen auf jeden Fall im nächsten Jahr wieder!

Great Stay

The house was spacious and well equipped and with enough privacy for two families to relax. The surrounding is just perfect, waking up and seeing the Mont Ventoux in the distance with in between endless wine fields. Also, thumbs up for the pool!

Spacious Maison de Campagne the heart of Provence

The house is set in the middle of the Vineyards, with absolutely gorgeous views of the Mont Ventoux. The views are stunning and the singing of the “cigales” make it a truly astonishing setting, “magical” as a previous review mentioned! The pool is large and remains clean thanks to the Polaris robot ; we had a couple of issues with it but the owner was very quick to react and we really appreciated his help. The house itself is a beautiful stone house, typical from Provence, very spacious, and keeps the cool inside when really hot out. It is basic and may need a small furnishing revamp but it has pretty much everything you need to have a good relaxing holiday and disconnect. All in all, we had a fantastic 2 week stay and can’t thank enough Tim for being a fantastic owner! We’d love to come back, and feel the magic of the place all over again :)

Magical!

This is a very special place. It was really wonderful to arrive to this pretty and welcoming house, and had a great two week holiday, two families. The pool is perfect, inside large and accommodate all of us easily. We had wonderful evenings grilling. Great for cyclists and walkers, lovers of rivers and general Provence nature and markets. Highly recommend!

Maison charmante et chaleureuse, bien équipée et bénéficiant d une très jolie vue

Malgré une météo très peu provençale, nous avons passé une super semaine de vacances en famille, grâce à l intérieur chaleureux de cette maison très bien située. Calme absolu et vue superbe sur les vignes, avec le Mont Ventoux en toile de fond... La piscine est très agréable aussi, bien conçue et bien entretenue - nous aurions aimé pouvoir en profiter davantage !! Les informations ( en anglais) mises à disposition par les propriétaires sont nombreuses et intéressantes . Bref, nous sommes enchantés de notre séjour.

Relaxing Holiday

Exactly what we were looking for. The property is surrounded by beautiful wineyards, really authentic and spacious. The location pleasant and peaceful. 2 Top selling points: the swimming pool, large and always clean thanks to the robotic pool cleaner and the Terrace where we enjoyed special evenings barbecuing and tasting Gigondas wine. Highly recommended for people who wish to relax and visit the region.

We live in England and have three adult children, and we spend our summer holidays at Rourebeau.

Why they chose this property

Rourebeau has been in our family since 1967 when my parents first travelled to Provence and fell in love with the peace and beauty of the region. They found an old ruined farmhouse and we have converted the barns over the years into a simply furnished but comfortable family holiday home. It is situated on the border of the Drome and Vaucluse, in Northern Provence, set in the undulating foothills of Mount Ventoux, surrounded by vineyards, olive groves, fruit orchards and working farms. It is in easy reach of many of Provence’s best tourist attractions, including Avignon, Orange and its Roman theatre and Vaison La Romaine with its famous market. There are many outdoor activities possible with walking, climbing in the Dentelles, swimming in river gorges, and cycling (including Mount Ventoux for the adventurous). There are numerous delicious local restaurants, bakers and markets and it is in the heart of the Cotes du Rhone wine producing country. There are many things to explore, but it’s also amazing how much time you can spend beside the swimming pool!

Peace and tranquility. The house is situated in its own land and is surrounded by vineyards and woodland. It is the ideal location to relax with family and friends in complete peace, switch off from the outside world and immerse yourself in the beauty of Provence.
